Learning Experience

Our 2nd-grade students undertook a series of Lego projects to deepen their comprehension of key concepts in social studies and science. Demonstrating their understanding of the US symbols. Students carefully crafted models depicting symbols such as the American Flag, Statue of Liberty, Washington Monument, and the Bald Eagle using Lego bricks.

In addition,  students showcased their knowledge of Native American cultures by constructing Lego representations of traditional dwellings such as longhouses and teepees.

Finally, our students engaged in research using educational resources like Pebble Go to investigate an assigned habitat as a group.  The habitats included deserts, arctic regions, and oceans. The students applied what they learned by collaboratively designing and building Lego habitats, demonstrating an understanding that an animal's habitat fulfills its fundamental needs by providing a hope for their animals, a water source, and food that their animal would eat.

By researching and working together, Mrs. Price's class was able to showcase their creativity, they collectively developed a display that not only showcased their individual contributions but also exemplified their capacity to work as a team in integrating multiple facets of their learning into a cohesive and visually striking exhibit.
