Learning Experience

This fourth-grade learning experience on weather and weather tools was designed for an immersive and interactive approach, aiming to cultivate critical and creative thinking skills and application of a skill that affects our everyday lives.

Students engaged in hands-on activities, and even created their own weather tools such as thermometers and anemometers, barometers to collect real-time data, thereby enhancing their scientific knowledge and developing practical skills in data collection and analysis.

With their data students we able to make predictions and forecast the weather for spring break. Students took a deeper look at a second HLP trait, Global Citizen, and researched ways that they affect the weather with things like pollution. They learned that this causes the "Greenhouse Effect" and thought of ways to reduce the amount damage done to our planet.

What did the student(s) learn about this experience:

"My favorite part was using the anemometer!" - Austin H.

What did the teacher enjoy about this experience:

"As a first year teacher, this experience was amazing! Seeing my students so engaged and in charge of their learning made me super proud." - Ms. Hall
