Celebrating Scientists Through Creativity
Henrico Learner Profile (HLP) 6C Focus
Learning Experience
Students were given the opportunity to showcase their creativity skills to support their research of a scientist during Black History Month. They were allowed to choose any African American scientist, inventor, mathematician or engineer and research their work. They were then given the opportunity during library lessons to create an artifact to represent that person in a creative way. They could use a digital tool, makerspace item, stop motion, etc. The students then presented their learning to their classmates and reflected on the creative process.
