Corresponde a un detalle de una de las más de 50 piezas gráficas que constituye mi último proyecto, Cobra, el cual reúne dibujos, grabados y un relato. Por esta razón, puede ser visto como una exposición de arte, un ensayo, un cuento, un libro ilustrado, un comic, incluso, como una película. Desde esta multiplicidad, en Cobra se observan elementos narrativos de ficción y realidad que construyen una historia que se asemeja tanto a las novelas de misterio como a los ensayos históricos.

Por un lado, se centra en algunos episodios de tortura ejercidos por agentes del Estado chileno, en los últimos 10 años que han sucedido como parte de un contexto más amplio de violencia estructural, la posdictadura. Por otro lado, su imaginario gráfico está basado en diferentes técnicas y registros, cuya variedad apunta a ciertas imágenes de corte masivo desarrolladas en distintas épocas, tales como las liras populares, el comic y el cine. Específicamente, este detalle corresponde a una de las piezas xilográficas del proyecto.

Cobra es el resultado de mi trabajo doctoral y contempla una exposición y la publicación de un libro. Tanto la apertura de la exposición como la edición del libro han sido suspendidas por la actual coyuntura sanitaria del coronavirus.

It corresponds to a detail of one of more than 50 graphic pieces that constitutes my last project, Cobra, which brings together drawings, engravings and a narrative. For this reason, it can be seen as an art exhibition, an essay, a short story, a picture book, a comic book, even as a movie. From this multiplicity, in Cobra, real and fictional narrative elements build a story that resembles both to mystery novels and to historical essays.

On the one hand, it focuses on some episodes of torture carried out by agents of the Chilean State, in the last 10 years that have happened as part of a broader context of structural violence, the post-dictatorship. On the other hand, his graphic imagery is based on different techniques and registers, the variety of which points to certain images of a massive nature developed at different times, such as popular lyres, comics and cinema. Specifically, this detail corresponds to one of the woodcut pieces of the project.

Cobra is the result of my doctoral work and includes an exhibition and the publication of a book. Both the opening of the exhibition and the edition of the book have been suspended due to the current health situation of the coronavirus.
