Using Krynn’s chronology, Chomsky’s life is detailed both before and after his transport to Krynn.

73BC – Chomsky was born on a plane far away to Noldor and Paracelae.  Gnomish people only had one name so far as Chomsky can remember

61 BC – Chomsky and Noldor, along with other family members began a mining project in a mountain said to hold the secrets of their creation.

60 BC – Chomsky creates a machine to remove rubble from the depths of the mine which doubles their efforts.  He is recognized by the leadership as their foremost Engineer.

29 BC – Chomsky Opens the Tomb of the Lost God.   As he enters the tomb, there is an explosion or at least a very bright light with a force which throws Chomsky backward.

0 AC – Chomsky awakens in a field just a few miles from Mount Nevermind.  Unaware of how much time has passed, Chomsky realizes he is not in his world as soon as he sees the night sky.  Chomsky asks for refuge inside Mount Nevermind

7 AC – Chomsky’s successes in many fields make him a bit of an outcast among Gnomes.  He has mastered several skills related to invention and participated in many expeditions into places others fear to tread in search of the rarest material. Chomsky begins to contemplate leaving Mount Nevermind.

20AC - The Great Break - The Anka Party defeats the Arch Devil Glasya, Princess of Hell.  Asmodeous, her father, begins ripping the higher layers of hell down to kill her assassins.  Chiana is killed by Glaysa with a soul rend blade which destroyed her soul and any ability to recover her.  Chomsky, seeing these events, uses all of his power to Smite Asmodeous.  In the process of using forbidden magics, he breaks the walls of reality apart and pieces of the heavens, elemental planes and prime material realms begin falling into the hells.  As a result, all the gods are forced to intervene.  As a result, they are forced to roll time backward.  However, this is not without side effects.  Ranging from earth quakes and meteor falls  in the prime material realms to the creation of a new lesser god, these results become widely referred to as the Great Break.  In the end, Chomsky and Chiana are merged to create the new lesser god with domains of Love, Commerce, and Creation.

  Character Notes:

Dislikes dishonesty

-        Complains about the deceitful ways of many races

-        Stumbles over his own lies (concerning his past)

Beginning to see Chiana like a Daughter, if an ill mannered one.

-        He used a rare healing potion on her, despite its near necessity to his work.  Something very counter to a gnome’s normal MO

-        He is teaching her his methods.  A partner would only get paid.

-        He occasionally pranks her, a sure sign of affection amongst gnomes

-     Over time, he falls in love with Chiana.

-     He enters into a devils bargain to enable his ability to read the necronomicron without consequence.  The price is his first born child with Chiana.  To prevent this from happening, he uses his own magics to forget his love for Chiana.  However, as a side effect, he also can no longer remember his deal with Glasya.  This comes to fruition in the events of the Great Break.

Worries about his new Kender friend’s motives but considers him unusual enough to at least warrant further investigation.

-        Obviously Obito is no normal kinder

-        Considered Obito striking the strange man over-reactionary and poor judgment on the young kender’s part.  Noting both being common failings of youth and not always indicative of evil character.

-        Simply being a Kender spellcaster is interesting enough to warrant further “study.”

-        Impressed by the Kender’s luck at being “at the right place and time” to retrieve such a rare find as a Taresque at such low hit points, a gnome able to deal such unprecedented damage to such a critter, and an emissary of Paladine powerful enough to banish it’s soul from our existence.

-        Was made more dubious when the Kender was offered the black robes. Not sure if the robes reflect the man, or somehow corrupt those who wear them, he has never known a Black Robe one could trust to be anything but a Black Robe.  He likes the good humored Kender and dares to hope his intuition is wrong on the subject of the Robe’s implications.

-        Wonders if he might both help and learn from the Kender if they continue to cross paths.

Likes Garrok the Ranger of Darkenwood

-        Seems honest, a virtue Chomsky values

-        Put his life on the line when a friend needed his help

-        Impressive Fighter considering he held his own against the obviously more powerful skeletal warrior they (Chiana and Chomsky) fought.
