1/360: "CHANGING OF THE GUARD" / PILOT ("CAMBIO DE GUARDIA")

Dos décadas después de la última vez que les vimos, los Ewing han vuelto. Bobby oculta a su familia su delicado estado de salud, con la esperanza de que puedan celebrar con sus amigos la boda de su hijo adoptivo Christopher con Rebecca Sutter.
J.R. ha pasado los últimos años en estado catatónico, aunque vuelve a la vida cuando su hijo John Ross le pide ayuda desesperadamente para sacar adelante un proyecto: intenta explotar el petróleo que ha descubierto recientemente en la tierra de Southfork, que Bobby se ha dispuesto a conservar según petición de su madre en su testamento. "Bobby siempre fue un tonto" - son las primeras palabras de J.R., al saber que planea vender el rancho a una fundación ecologista presidida por Marta del Sol. Un ladrón nocturno consigue información que prueba que el proyecto de Christopher está condenado ya que parece haber provocado un maremoto en aguas de China.
El día de la boda, Sue Ellen es una de las invitadas y promete a su hijo toda su ayuda para compensarlo por todo el tiempo que pasó en internados: "Considérame tu aliada". Christopher descubre que su primer amor, la hija de la cocinera de Southfork Elena Ramos, le dejó plantado ante el altar a causa de un misterioso e-mail. Lo que todos ignoran es que John Ross se ha asociado con Marta del Sol, una antigua amante, para hacerse con Southfork, aunque al final será J.R. quien sorprenda a su hijo al presentársela como su propia cómplice: "La sangre es más espesa que el agua, pero el petróleo es más espeso que ambas..." - le dice J.R.
Twenty years since the original Dallas seasons, Bobby hides his grave cardiac condition, hoping the Ewings and friends can simply celebrate his adopted son Christopher's wedding to Rebecca Sutter reconciled.
JR has been lethargic for years, but relives when his so far neglectful son desperately seeks help for his project, exploiting the recently discovered oil on Southfork land, which Bobby is determined to preserve conform Ellie's testament. "Bobby always was a fool" - are his first words, because he plans to sell to environmental foundation heiress Marta Del Sol. A mysterious break-in uncovers John Ross's secret, that his research project for alternative energy is probably doomed as it is believed to have caused an earthquake in Chinese waters.
On the wedding day, Sue Ellen shows up and promises her son all he may need to make up for all the time he spent in private schools: "Consider me as your ally". Christopher discovers that John Ross's fiancée, his own first love, Southfork cook's daughter Elena Ramos, only stood him up after a suspicious e-mail mix-up. What everybody ignores is the fact that John Ross is behind Marta del Sol, his former lover, to get control over Southfork, although J.R. will eventually be the one who will surprise him when he introduces her as his own accessory: "Blood may be thicker than water, but oil is thicker than both..." - J.R. says.

2/361: "HEDGING YOUR BETS" ("ASEGURANDO LA JUGADA")

Christopher se alegra cuando Rebecca le propone aplazar su viaje de luna de miel hasta que se cierren los negocios de Southfork y del metano, ignorando que ella y su hermano Tommy llevan años planeando un complot. El abogado Mitch Lobell chantajea a John Ross para que le pague cuatro veces más por no contarle a J.R. sus planes de quedarse con Southfork.
J.R. vuelve a aparecer en público en el Baile de los Ganaderos, y se reencuentra con Sue Ellen: "Has ganado, cariño, y no podría alegrarme más. Serías una fantástica gobernadora, y sigues siendo la chica más hermosa del baile..."
Más tarde, J.R. consulta con su viejo amigo mejicano Carlos del Sol y descubre que el "retraso burocrático" es una estratagema urdida por su hijo, quien a su vez es drogado y filmado en vídeo por Marta del Sol. Ésta a su vez tampoco es quien dice ser..
Christopher is relieved when Rebecca proposes to postpone their honeymoon until after the Southfork and gas deals are closed, ignoring she and her brother Tommy have been hatching a plot for years. Trusted lawyer Mitch Lobell blackmails John Ross to quadruple his bribe not to tell J.R. about his plans to steal Southfork.
J.R. reenters the public stage at the Cattlemen´s Ball, and he reunites with Sue Ellen: "You won, honey, and I couldn´t be happier. You´d make a hell of a governor, and you are still the prettiest girl at the ball..."
Later on, J.R. consults his old Mexican friend Carlos Del Sol and discovers the 'paperwork delay' is a scam worthy of a son of his, who is meanwhile drugged and taped filmed by Marta Del Sol. She is not who she is supposed to be either...

3/362: "THE PRICE YOU PAY" ("EL PRECIO QUE PAGAS")

J.R. está orgulloso de su intrigante hijo y se disculpa ante él por haber sido un mal padre, uniéndose a él en su plan de hacerse con Southfork. Para ello, le sugiere chantajear al codicioso Lobell y finge una llamada de su médico a Bobby para poder volver al rancho.
Christopher se siente ofendido porque su padre no confió en él al saber que tenía cáncer, pero aún así, rechaza la oferta de Cliff Barnes para financiar su método de extracción de metano, que según él ya tiene preparado. "No dejes que los Ewing te destruyan como hicieron con Pam", le dice Cliff a su sobrino cuando se marcha. Tommy presiona a Rebecca para que instale un "software" en el portátil de Christopher, pero ella se niega a traicionar a su marido.
J.R. y John Ross fingen una discusión utilizando el antiguo diario de Ellie, para poder alegar que estaba incapacitada mentalmente cuando le dejó el rancho a Bobby en su testamento. Pero al final, Bobby explica a su mujer Ann: "El hecho de que J.R. hiciera algo así creyendo que podría convencerme de que no lo había hecho, demuestra que es como es, y siempre será así."
Although J.R. found out John Ross's attempt to cheat even him, he's proud of his fearlessly scheming son, apologizes for having been such a lousy, absent father and takes charge of the knave's plan to take over Southfork. To this end, J.R. suggests how to blackmail greedy lawyer Mitch Lobell and pretends his recovery requires moving to the family estate, which Anne insists Bobby must allow.
Christopher is deeply hurt that his father didn't even confide in him about his cancer and walks out indignant about such lack of faith. Still, Chris turns down Cliff Barnes's offer to finance his alternative gas drilling technique, which he believes to have solved, on account of the feud. "Don´t let them destroy you like they did Pam", he tells him when Chris is leaving. Tommy presses Rebecca to install spy software in Christopher's laptop, but she can't bring herself to betray her unsuspecting husband.
J.R. and John Ross stage a fight using Miss Ellie´s old diary, so they can pretend that she was mentally unstable when she decided to give the ranch to Bobby in her will. But at the end, Bobby tells his wife Ann: "The fact that J.R. did it, and that he thinks he can make me believe he didn´t do it, that´s just who he is. And who he will always be."

4/363: "THE LAST HURRAH" ("LA DESPEDIDA")

J.R. pide a su detective de confianza Bum que proporcione a John Ross el medio de chantajear a Lobell: su hijo Rick es un adicto reformado detenido por posesión en dos ocasiones. John Ross decide no utilizar a la sospechosa Marta sino que le hace chantaje a Rebecca para que lo haga por ella. Al conocer los resultados, J.R. ordena a Lobell que ponga la escritura de Southfork sólo a su nombre.
J.R. visita a Sue Ellen en su oficina para regalarle las perlas de Ellie, antes de que llegue Cliff y les interrumpa. Bobby quiere celebrar una última barbacoa para que la familia y amigos puedan despedirse del rancho, pero deja los preparativos a Ann. Christopher le ayuda cuando una res da a luz, mientras le pide consejo sobre cómo decidir entre su antiguo amor por Elena y su obligación marital. Cliff quiere colaborar en la campaña electoral de Sue Ellen.
J.R. fields his trusted P.I. to hand John Ross the tool to blackmail attorney Lobell: his son Rick, a two-strike ex-addict. John Ross decides not to use untrustworthy Martha but blackmails Rebecca for the job. When handed the results, J.R., however, orders Lobell to put Southfork solely in his own name.
J.R. visits Sue Ellen at her headquarters, and gives her Miss Ellie´s pearls before Cliff comes in and interrupts them. Bobby wants a last barbecue so family and friends can say goodbye to the ranch, but leaves the party reparations to Anne. Christopher joins his cattle care, notably calving, meanwhile seeking advice on how to deal with his lost love Elena and marital pledge. Cliff wants to wriggle into Sue Ellen's electoral campaign.

5/364: "TRUTH AND CONSEQUENCES" ("VERDADES Y CONSECUENCIAS")

Hasta John Ross se sorprende al saber que la compra de Southfork se realizó únicamente a nombre de J.R., pero acepta a regañadientes un permiso para poder perforar antes de que su padre se marche por tiempo indefinido. Christopher se lleva una decepción cuando Rebecca admite que Tommy planeó conspirar contra los Ewing cuando conoció a un compañero de universidad de Christopher hace años. Encuentra los vídeos del chantaje de la falsa Marta, alias Veronica, que demuestran la infidelidad de John Ross, pero decide no enseñárselos a Elena cuando ella se niega a perdonarle por el tema de la ruptura vía e-mail.
Bobby informa a la policía, que averigua que la venta de J.R. no puede ser recurrida a menos que demuestre que ha existido voluntad de fraude, lo cual sólo parece posible por parte de la falsa Marta y del abogado, que también ha desaparecido. Mientras, Ann le pide a su ex marido Harris Ryland que sabotee las perforaciones rescindiendo su contrato de transporte.
Even John Ross is baffled to find the Southfork purchase deed solely in J.R.'s name, but grudgingly accepts a procuration with instructions to start drilling while his father leaves indefinitely. Christopher is shocked as badly again when Rebecca admits Tommy planned preying on the Ewings as college mate years ago. He finds fake Marta alias Veronica's blackmail recordings of John Ross's own infidelity but decides against showing them to Elena after finding her inflexibly unforgiving about the e-mail debacle.
Bobby just reports to the police, who find J.R.'s sale incontestable unless he is proved to have used fraud, which seems possible only for the fake Del Sol and the lawyer, who disappeared too. Meanwhile, Ann asks her ex Harris Ryland to sabotage the drilling by breaking his transport contract.

Ahora único responsable de las perforaciones, John Ross es amenazado por el venezolano Vicente Cano y acude a su madre Sue Ellen, candidata a gobernador, para que Harris Ryland vuelva a enviar sus camiones a los pozos. Bobby reprocha a Ann que haya negociado a espaldas suyas.John Ross no cede a la amenaza de Christopher a presentar cargos contra él, ni a la de Veronica para volver a ser socios y amantes.
Tommy se enfurece cuando descubre que Rebecca le ha traicionado al entregarle a Bobby pruebas de que los derechos minerales de Southfork no están incluidos legalmente en la propiedad desde los tiempos de su abuelo. Entretanto, JR ha viajado a Las Vegas para intentar sabotear los planes de Cliff con el dinero de Carlos del Sol.
Left in charge of drilling with only Bum as deputy by JR, John Ross is terrified by scary foreign oil client's agent Vicente Cano and successfully turns to mother and candidate-governor Sue Ellen to get Harris Ryland to undo the truck embargo, which Bobby reproaches Ann having negotiated behind his back. John Ross resists both Christopher's legal charges threat and Martha's offer to rejoin each-other n bed and business.
Tommy is furious when he discovers Rebecca has betrayed him to hand Bobby proof that Southfork's mineral rights aren't legally included in the land ownership since his grandfather. JR meanwhile is on a solo mission to work out Cliff's Las Vegas agenda and sabotage it with Carlos Del Sol's money.

7/366: "COLLATERAL DAMAGE" ("DAÑO COLATERAL")

Christopher sospecha que Rebecca le está engañando de nuevo y le exige que se someta a una prueba de paternidad cuando se entera de que está embarazada, hecho que adivina Elena. Desesperado porque no puede extraer el petróleo de Southfork que ya ha vendido a los implacables venezolanos, John Ross intenta en vano conseguir el voto de Gary a través de Lucy. Sue Ellen obliga a Elena a ayudarle temporalmente, y le espeta: "Cuando tengas que elegir entre tu hijo y otra persona, espero que hagas una buena elección. Como única inversora en tu prominente empresa, espero que siempre tomes buenas decisiones."
John Ross traiciona a Veronica, que reconoce haberles robado y al msmo tiempo le propone unirse a él como socios y amantes de nuevo. Amenazado por una demanda, Bobby le pide disculpas a Ryland por haberle amenazado violentamente por acercarse a su mujer, pero él le entrega un sobre con información secreta acerca de Ann. Bobby quema el sobre delante de su esposa. La investigación de Bum sugiere que el ambicioso "chófer" paquistaní apadrinado por Cliff, puede ser en realidad un secuaz graduado en Harvard, quizá el talón de Aquiles de su gran rival.
Christopher suspects another ploy and demands a paternity test when told, after Elena guessed, that Rebecca is pregnant. Desperate for oil he can't drill on Southfork but already sold to ruthless Venezuelans, John Ross tries in vain to win Ray's vote trough Lucy. Sue Ellen forces Elena to help him out temporarily and tells her: "When the day comes that you have to choose between your child and anybody else, I hope you choose wisely. And as the sole investor in your growing enterprise, I hope you always make the wise choice."
John Ross betrays Veronica, the false Martha, who admitted having stolen from them while offering in vain to team up with John Ross in bed and business again. Threatened with a nasty lawsuit, Bobby grudgingly apologizes to Ann's ex Harris Ryland for slapping him as 'wife-stalker', is handed a file on her darkest secret but burns it unread before her eyes. Bum's research suggests to J.R. Cliff's ambitious, quasi-adopted Pakistani 'driver', in fact, chief henchman with a Harvard degree, may be his arch-rival's Achilles heel.

8/367: "NO GOOD DEED" ("MALAS ACCIONES")

Veronica ha muerto al caer desde la ventana de su habitación de hotel. Aunque parece un suicidio, John Ross es arrestado como único sospechoso de asesinato ya que fue visto marchándose de allí, y la videocámara de ella ha desaparecido. Vicente Cano, cuyos secuaces seguramente fueron los responsables, le repite durante su visita en la cárcel su amenaza de embargar Southfork a menos que se realice la entrega del petróleo a tiempo. Consigue que una banda latina le dé a John Ross una paliza en prisión.JR interrumpe su negocio en Las Vegas para visitar en secreto a John Ross. Desesperada por salvar a su hijo, Sue Ellen chantajea al forense para que dictamine que la muerte de Veronica fue un suicidio. Ajeno a esto, Christopher cierra un trato con los venezolanos, que obtienen los derechos para explotar su método de extracción de hidratos en Sudamérica, los cuales se negó a vender a Exxon por una fortuna.
Bobby lleva flores a la tumba de su madre y le dice: "Nuestra familia está tan dividida como siempre y sigo pensando qué harías tú si estuvieras aquí: harías lo que fuera para protegernos, y eso es lo que voy a hacer yo, mamá." Los primos parecen haberse reconciliado. La ecografía de los gemelos y la falta de antecedentes penales de Rebecca convencen a Chris para que dé a su matrimonio una segunda oportunidad. Pero Tommy ha vuelto, exigiendo algo más que los anillos que Rebecca le dio. Ann le ofrece un empleo en el rancho de su hermana, sin saber que ha amenazado con revelar que Rebecca no es su hermana sino su ex novia.
After Veronica, the false Martha, falls to her death, presumably a staged suicide, from her hotel John Ross is arrested as the sole murder suspect, having been seen leaving there, while her video camera there has disappeared. Vicente Cano, whose goons probably did it after John Ross told him she stole from them, repeats during a jail visit his threat to foreclose on Southfork unless the contractual oil delivery is made in time and has a Latino prison gang beat John Ross into the infirmary. JR interrupts his Vegas operation to visit John Ross secretly. Desperate to save her son, Sue Ellen blackmail the medical examiner to falsely rule Veronica's death a suicide. Alas unaware of that, Christopher made a deal with the Venezuelans, who get the South American rights to his inestimable hydrates extraction technique, which he refused to sell for a fortune to Exxon.
Bobby takes some flowers to his Mama´s gravesite and tells her: "Our family is as fractured and dysfunctional as always. And I keep trying to think what you’d do if you were here: you’d do whatever it takes to protect the family. And that’s just what I’m gonna do, Mama." The cousins feel buddies again. The baby's ultrasound and Rebecca's clean criminal record motivate Chris to give his marriage another chance. Tommy is back, demanding more than the rings she gave him. Anne promises him a job on her sister's ranch, ignoring he threatens to reveal Becca isn't his sister but an ex.

9/368: "FAMILY BUSINESS" ("NEGOCIO FAMILIAR")

Bobby sufre una recaída a causa del tumor que le extirparon y es sometido a otra operación. J.R. se burla del sentido de la moral de las mujeres de la familia para que ésta permanezca unida. Aún así, acaba cediéndole la escritura de Southfork a Bobby. Ahora John Ross duda si debería intentar, o por lo menos impresionar a su padre, aceptando la propuesta de Christopher para asociarse en la empresa Energías Ewing junto con Elena.
J.R. sigue creyendo que la mano derecha de Barnes, Frank Ashkani, es su punto débil, pero Bum es incapaz de averiguar cuál es. Mientras tanto, Tommy trata en vano de amenazar a Rebecca, que ha recuperado a Christopher, con revelar que fueron amantes cuando él estaba en la universidad, y no hermanos, y descubre que el trato relacionado con la tecnología del metano de Chistopher ha sido anulado por Frank. Harris Ryland espera que Sue Ellen se rinda a su voluntad, ante la amenaza de poner al descubierto lo que hizo, antes de presentarse a las elecciones para gobernador.
After Bobby has another tumor crisis, operated successfully but within an inch of his life, J.R. laughs away the women's moral appeal for the family to stand united, yet ends up signing over the Southfork deed to Bobby. John Ross now doubts the point in trying to please or at least impress his father enough to accept Christopher's offer to form a partnership, Ewing Energies, with Elena.
J.R. believes Cliff Barnes's 'undervalued' right hand 'Smiling' Frank his weak point, but Bum finds no angle. Meanwhile, Tommy tries in vain threatening Rebecca, who is winning Christopher back, with exposure as his college days lover, not a sibling, and is told the deal concerning Christopher's methane technology is lapsed by Smiling Frank. Harris Ryland expects Sue Ellen to be at his call or be exposed before the governor election.

Después de la operación, J.R. visita a su hermano para darle ánimos: "Despierta, ¿me oyes? Sigue luchando, para poder luchar contra mí. Te quiero, Bobby, y no sé qué sería de mí sin ti..." Justo cuando Christopher estaba dispuesto a perdonar a Rebecca por el bien de los gemelos, Tommy reaparece para exigir su parte, tal como acordaron años antes, lo cual conduce a una pelea que acaba con él muerto de un balazo. La verdadera Rebecca Sutter es la hermana de Tommy, que ha intentado localizarle. Sus verdaderos planes quedan al descubierto y Christopher decide abandonarla.
John Ross abre su corazón a Elena: "Me he pasado la vida echándole de menos, queriendo estar con él, ser como él. Siempre pensé que, si me parecía a él, estaría orgulloso de mí, pero eso no me basta. Él está perdido en su propia ira y amargura, y no le queda espacio para nadie más..." Más tarde, sorprende agradablemente a sus socios en Energías Ewing, Christopher y Elena, al alquilar las antiguas oficinas de la Ewing Oil, y John Ross le pide a Elena que se case con él.
Cuando su participación en la venta de Southfork sale a la luz, empiezan a cuestionarse su asociación, pero Bobby les convence para que así mantengan unida a la familia. El FBI investiga el asunto de Marta del Sol, Vicente Cano es detenido y el contrato, anulado. Después de oír por casualidad la confesión de John Ross, Elena rompe con él y su madre le devuelve más tarde el anillo de compromiso. Christopher va a ver a Elena y le revela que ella es la mujer a la que ama. Elena accede a casarse con él y pasan la noche juntos.
A J.R. se le concede la inmunidad, ya que ha traspasado la propiedad del rancho a Bobby, pero éste le recuerda que conserva una copia de las pruebas que había en su contra, demostrando su alianza con Veronica. Rebecca acude a su padre, que llega en un jet y resulta ser Cliff Barnes, la mente que planeó toda la trama con la ayuda de Frank. "Estaré centrada la próxima vez." - promete la joven.
Ann engaña a Harris Ryland grabando su conversación con él: "Extorsión, chantaje, y una confesión de blanqueo de dinero, todo ha quedado grabado. Da un paso en contra mía, de Sue Ellen, o de cualquier miembro de mi familia, y vas a la cárcel."
De esta manera, consigue librar a Sue Ellen del chantaje al que la sometía, y Sue Ellen anuncia que se presentará a la campaña para convertirse en la próxima gobernadora de Tejas. En la última escena, situada en plena noche, en las oficinas Ewing, J.R.y John Ross brindan en las oficinas Ewing mientras el joven le dice a su padre: "Si quieres entrar en Energías Ewing, deja de enseñarme cómo es el negocio del petróleo y empieza a enseñarme todos los trucos sucios que conoces. Y cuando les quite la compañía a Christopher y Elena, te haré mi socio..."
After the surgery, J.R. visits his brother to cheer him up: "Wake up, you hear me? You keep fighting me. I love you, Bobby, and I don’t know who I’d be without you..." Just now Christopher is ready to forgive Rebecca for the twin babies' sake, Tommy returns to demand his share agreed years ago, leading to a fight in which she fatally shoots him. The real Rebecca Sutter is Tommy´s sister, who has been trying to get in touch with him. Their true rapport is now revealed, deciding Christopher to turn away.
John Ross opens his heart to Elena: "I’ve spent my whole life missing him, wanting to be with him, wanting to be him. I always thought if I was more like him that he’d be proud of me and that would be good enough, but it isn’t. I love my father, but he’s so lost, lost in his own anger and bitterness, there’s no room for anybody else." Later on, he delights his Ewing Energies partners Christopher and Elena by hiring the former Ewing Oil offices and she proposes to her.
They still question the project when his full part in the Southfork dealing becomes known, but Bobby persuades them to go ahead to reunite the family. After Justice uncovers the whole Del Sol plot, Vicente Cano is arrested and his deal annulled. After over-hearing John Ross´s confession, Elena breaks up with him and her mother gives him back her engagement ring. Later Christopher goes to Elena´s and tells her she´s the one he really loves. Elena accepts to marry her and they sleep together.
J.R. isn't charged, already having transferred the Southfork deed, but is warned Bobby keeps copies of the incriminating evidence of his alliance with Veronica. Rebecca calls her father, who arrives aboard a jet and turns out to be Cliff Barnes, who masterminded their dirty plot trough 'Smiling' Frank. "I won´t lose focus this time." - she promises.
Ann tricks Harris Ryland so as to undo his blackmail on Sue Ellen: "Extortion, blackmail, and a confession to money laundering, all recorded. You make a move against me, Sue Ellen, or any member of mah family, and you’re going to jail.”
Sue Ellen does resume her campaign for governor of Texas. In the very last scene, J.R. and John Ross make a toast at the Ewing offices at night, as the heir tells his daddy: "You want in on Ewing Energies. How about you stop trying to teach me the oil business and start teaching me every dirty trick you know. And when I take this company from Christopher and Elena, I’ll cut you in..."
