5 - will the circle be unbroken

January 25, 1980: Valene Ewing received the unexpected visit of her long-lost mother Lilimae Clements (Julie Harris), a country-&-western singer wannabe who was partly responsible for baby Lucy´s kidnapping by J.R. Extravagant, manipulative and irresistibly wacky, Lilimae was one of the show´s most distinctive characters for 7 long years during which she stole, (almost) killed, lied, spied, cried and laughed, cheering up the lives of Gary and Val first, and then only Val. In a flashback, we could see Val in the early 60´s, when J.R.´s henchmen took Lucy away from her forever. And yes, that´s Joan Van Ark pretending to be 15 years old.

8 de julio de 1989 (en Cataluña): Valene Ewing recibía la inesperada visita de su desaparecida madre Lilimae Clements (Julie Harris), una aspirante a cantante de country-&-western en parte responsable de que la pequeña Lucy fuera secuestrada por J.R. Extravagante, manipuladora e irresistiblemente alocada, Lilimae fue uno de los personajes más singulares de la serie durante 7 largos años, durante los cuales robó, (casi) mató, mintió, espió, lloró y rió, animando la vida de Gary y Val al principio, y después sólo de Val. En un flashback pudimos ver un "flashback" de Val a principios de los años 60, cuando los gorilas de J.R. le arrebataron a Lucy para siempre. Y sí, esa es Joan Van Ark fingiendo que tiene 15 años.
