117 - royal wedding

May 15, 1985: "Dynasty" reached its climax in the TV ratings and also jumped the shark (of which it never really recovered) with the much-talked, much-criticized royal wedding of Alexis and Blake´s daughter Amanda and Prince Michael of (then non-existent) Moldavia (Michael Praed), that ended up sabotaged by a revolutionary group. The massacre that followed the wedding had supposedly killed part of the main cast. But this was "Dynasty"! Joan Collins pulled a Larry Hagman the next season and asked for a high salary demand, while supporting actors like Bill Campbell (Steven´s lover Luke) and Ali MacGraw (Jeff´s lover Lady Ashley Mitchell) were sacrificed instead. Later Campbell was given a decent death scene though, and King Galen (Joel Fabiani) seemed to have been killed too, but he wasn´t. Meanwhile, in Denver, Sammy Jo was training Krystle´s deadringer Rita (also Linda Evans) to replace her so she could get a hold at all the money her secret father Daniel Reece (late Rock Hudson) had left her. If this sounds crazy, the remaining seasons were still dumber!

Julio de 1986: "Dinastía" alcanzaba su punto álgido en los índices de audiencia y también se salía completamente de madre (algo de lo que nunca se recuperó...) con la muy comentada y criticada boda real de la hija de Alexis y Blake, Amanda, y el Príncipe Michael (Michael Praed), de (la entonces imaginaria) Moldavia, que acabó saboteada por un grupo revolucionario. La masacre que siguió a la boda supuestamente eliminaba a parte del elenco principal, pero esto era "Dinastía"...Joan Collins imitó a Larry Hagman la siguiente temporada al pedir un elevado aumento de salario, mientras que los sacrificados fueron sólo los secundarios Bill Campbell (el amante de Steven, Luke) y Ali MacGraw (la amante de Jeff, Lady Ashley Mitchell). Campbell al menos consiguió luego interpretar la escena de la muerte, y el Rey Galen (Joel Fabiani) también pareció haber muerto, aunque no fue así. Mientras, en Denver, Sammy Jo enseñaba a la doble de Krystle, Rita (también Linda Evans) cómo imitarla para poder suplantarla y conseguir la herencia que le había dejado su padre secreto Daniel Reece (el difunto Rock Hudson). Si esto parece una locura, las temporadas siguientes fueron aún más tontas...
