From this season on, the Opening will feature, with sliding images again, MICHELLE PHILLIPS and LARRY RILEY. DANNY ha encontrado en la cárcel al "Señor" y, cuando sale, se va a vivir con una tal MIA, también religiosa. Sigue visitando a VAL con el pretexto de recoger sus cosas, y no quiere concederle el divorcio ya que Dios no lo aprueba. El envenenamiento de la sangre de GREG afecta a su riñón y la noticia llega a los titulares de la prensa. Su hermana CLAUDIA WHITTAKER hace su aparición y GREG dice: "Veo que los buitres vuelan en círculos..." La hija de CLAUDIA, KATE, se parece mucho a MARY FRANCES. JEFF regala a los MACKENZIE móviles para su protección y acaba usándolos como detonante de una bomba. KAREN va a ver a JEFF a su casa pero él sale escabulléndose, y luego MEG llama al número de JEFF creyendo que KAREN está allí. Entonces, el apartamento de JEFF estalla en pedazos...
While in jail, Danny has found "the Lord." Upon release, he moves in with a woman named Mia who is also religious. Danny keeps going to Val's on the pretext of getting his belongings. He tells Val he won't give her a divorce, as God doesn't sanction it. Greg's poisoning is affecting his liver, and the news hits the paper. His sister, Claudia Whittaker shows up, and Greg says "I see the vultures are circling!". Claudia's daughter Kate looks just like Mary Frances. Jeff gives Karen and Mac cell phones for protection and the experiments making a phone bomb. Karen goes to Jeff's, but he sneaks out, and then Meg calls Jeff's number thinking Karen's there. Jeff's apartment building blows up.

JEFF es dado por muerto. ANNE está lívida porque la herencia de PAIGE no fue a parar a su cuenta, y devuelve los regalos de PAIGE a cambio de dinero. GREG pide a PAIGE que se vaya con él de crucero, mientras CLAUDIA pregunta a su doctor si un viaje de 6 meses será seguro para él, a lo que responde que duda que viva tanto tiempo. TOM reaparece y se enfrenta con GREG a punta de pistola para que retire los cargos contra él, y cuenta a PAIGE que GREG le puso una trampa. Furiosa, va a ver a GREG y le pregunta si de verdad se muere porque no creerá su buena suerte hasta que esté muerto y enterrado. KATE obtiene la beca que esperaba pero CLAUDIA le dice lo contrario. DANNY suelta a todos los caballos que GARY tiene en su rancho y, cuando este entra en el establo, DANNY cierra la puerta tras él y coge un bate...
Jeff is presumed dead. Ann's livid that Paige's trust fund didn't go to her account, and she returns Paige's wedding gifts for money. Greg asks Paige to go away on a cruise for him. Claudia asks Greg's doctor if a six-month cruise is safe for him and the doctor says he doubts Greg will live that long. Tom comes back and confronts Greg with a gun to have his charges dropped, and tells Paige that Greg set him up. Paige is still mad. She goes to meet Greg for the cruise and asks if he's really dying, because she won't believe her good fortune until he is dead and buried. Kate gets a scholarship she was hoping for, but Claudia lies and says she didn't get it. Danny lets out all the horses at Gary's ranch. When Gary comes to the stable, Danny closes the door behind him and takes out a bat.

CLAUDIA investiga a ANNE y descubre que está arruinada. Por su parte, esta decide seducir a GREG pero él no viene a casa. TOM pasa por allí y ve la ropa de ANNE esparcida por el suelo, y supone que es la de PAIGE. DANNY golpea a GARY con el bate, y luego lo ata y obliga a beber alcohol. Cuando este casi ha perdido el conocimiento, lo hace subir a un coche en marcha que cae por un precipicio. Más tarde, VAL, MACK y la policía encuentra el coche vacío de GARY. DANNY aparece flotando en una piscina, ahogado...
Claudia has Anne checked out and finds out she's broke. Anne decides to seduce Greg, but he never comes home. Tom stops by Greg's and sees Anne's clothes strewn about, and he assumes that they are Paige's clothes. Danny beats Gary up with a bat. Then he ties Gary up and forces him to drink alcohol. When Gary's nearly passed out, he puts him in a running car that goes off a cliff. Val, Mac and the police find Gary's empty car. Danny is floating in a pool. Dead.

KAREN se alegra al ver que JEFF está vivo hasta que la encierra en el estudio e intenta matarla. Dice que WAYNE fue asesinado en su apartamento y que él le envió todas las cartas. DIANNE está allí y llama a la policía, y JEFF les miente, pero por suerte ella ha grabado la conversación. GARY llama a una alterada VAL para decirle que el "airbag" lo salvó pero siguió inconsciente debido al alcohol. Más tarde, conversa con KAREN y esta pronuncia su famoso "discurso de Pollyanna":
"Quiero ser como Pollyanna. No quiero ver el mundo por cristales de color rosa, sino que quiero que sea de color rosa. Necesito que haya buena gente, la gente debería ser buena y eso debería ser lo normal. Detesto no poder confiar en nadie, ni dejar sola a mi hija en el patio de delante. Odio tener que cerrar con llave mi coche y preocuparme por poner un sistema de alarma en casa, o no poder mandar dinero por correo. Las cosas no deberían ser así, GARY. Me gusta ser como Pollyanna, quiero ser como ella..." PAIGE hace las paces con TOM y se va a vivir con él. ANNE recibe fotos comprometedoras de ella y una nota exigiendo un millón de dólares. La policía averigua que los dedos de DANNY estaban rotos e inician una investigación. El forense comunica a VAL que ella es responsable del cadáver de DANNY y que deberá pagar por mantenerlo en el depósito hasta que se lo lleve...
Karen is overjoyed to find that Jeff is alive, until he locks her in the station and tries to kill her. He says Wayne was killed in his apartment, and he sent her all the letters. Dianne is there and calls the police. Jeff lies to the police, but Dianne taped the whole thing. Gary calls a frantic Val and says the airbag saved him, but he kept passing out from the booze. He later talks to Karen, and Karen gives her famous "Pollyanna" speech:
"I wanna be a Pollyanna. I don't wanna look at the world through rose-colored glasses, I want the world to be rose-colored. I want people to be nice. People should be nice. Nice should be the norm. I hate it that I can't trust anyone! I hate it that I can't put my daughter on the front lawn by herself! I hate it that I have to lock my car, and I have to worry about an alarm system in my house, and I can't send cash in the mail! That's not the way it's supposed to be, Gary! I liked being a Pollyanna, I want to be a Pollyanna!" Paige makes up with Tom and moves in with him. Anne receives compromising photos of herself and a note demanding a million dollars. Police say Danny´s fingers were broken, so they'll have to investigate. The coroner tells Val she's responsible for Danny's body and she's being charged rent until she has his body moved.

Pronto la policía llega a la conclusión de que todos tenían motivos para matar a DANNY, aunque FRANK es el único que no dispone de coartada. KAREN se siente deprimida a causa del ataque y tiene miedo de salir de casa. VAL y GARY piden a los MACKENZIE que asistan a su boda. PAIGE no acude a trabajar e intenta conseguir otro empleo, pero sin éxito. LINDA utiliza su ausencia para ganarse el favor de GREG, y se preocupa cuando oye cómo él ofrece a PAIGE un gran aumento. KATE y GREG charlan a solas y ella le dice que se parece mucho a CLAUDIA. ANNE llama a su ex amante MARCO CONTI, un hombre rico y casado, para decirle que los están chantajeando. Pero en realidad es ella quien está detrás. MARCO le asegura que se hará cargo del asunto, y envía a NICK SCHILLACE a K.L.
The police soon realize that everyone had a motive for killing Danny, but Frank is the only one without an alibi. Karen is depressed over her attack and is afraid to leave the house. Val and Gary ask Mac and Karen to be in their wedding. Paige doesn't go to work and tries to get a new job, but isn't offered any. Linda uses Paige's absence to try to ingratiate herself to Greg. Linda's upset when she hears Greg call Paige and offer her a big promotion and raise. Kate and Greg have a nice talk, and she tells him he and Claudia are exactly alike. Anne calls her ex-lover, Marco Conti, who is rich and married, and tells him they're being blackmailed. It's actually Anne who's doing the blackmailing. Marco says he'll take care of it, and sends Nick Schillace to Knots Landing.

NICK sospecha que ANNE es la chantajista, y decide quedarse con ella y vigilar sus pasos. Ella está preocupada porque MARCO sólo le ha mandado 20.000 para pagar el chantaje. PAIGE está ofendida porque todos sus compañeros creen que fue ascendida porque duerme con GREG, y le pregunta por qué la trata tan mal. El le pide que se case con él, pero se marcha furiosa. La salud de GREG empeora. KAREN vuelve al trabajo y DIANE la llama egomaniaca y le informa de que ha conseguido otro empleo y está impaciente por irse. La policía encuentra un botón junto a la piscina donde murió DANNY. GINNY decide marcharse, y GARY confiesa a VAL que sus sueños se han hecho realidad, y tiene ganas de casarse con ella. Se van de picnic con los niños, pero estos llegan corriendo para avisar a GARY de que le ha pasado algo a VAL...
Nick suspects Anne of the blackmailing, and says that he is going to stay with her and go wherever she goes. Anne's upset that Marco only sent $20,000 for the blackmailer. Paige is angry that everyone at the office thinks she got the promotion for sleeping with Greg. She asks Greg why he treats her like dirt. He asks Paige to marry him, but she walks out. Greg is really starting to get sick. Karen goes back to work. Diane says Karen is an egomaniac, and that she got a new job and can't wait to leave. Police find a button by the pool where Danny was killed. Ginny decides to leave. Gary tells Val that his dreams have all come true and that he can't wait to marry her. They go on a family picnic, and the twins run to Gary yelling that something has happened to Val.

GREG empeora y CARLOS intenta llamar a PAIGE. Cuando esta se pelea con TOM, NICK la hace dormir en el sofá. TOM va a verla a la oficina y la llama niñata y zorra y, cuando ve a GREG, le da un puñetazo. JULIE se salta las clases desde que murió DANNY y la policía cree que ella vio algo. ANNE intenta quedarse con el dinero del chantaje y NICK le pide perdón por sospechar de ella. VAL se ha dado un golpe en la cabeza aunque insiste en que está bien, pero empieza a actuar de forma extraña. GARY piensa que sólo son típicos nervios de novia...
Greg gets really sick and Carlos tries to call Paige. Tom and Paige fight, and she leaves. Nick makes her sleep on the sofa. Tom goes to see her at the office and tells her she's a brat and a bitch. He sees Greg and punches him. Julie has skipped school since the day Danny died, and the police think she saw something. Anne grabs the money and runs. Nick apologizes to Anne for suspecting her. Val fell on her head, but insists she is okay. She starts acting strangely, but Gary thinks it is pre-wedding jitters.

8/284: "THE BEST LAID PLANS" ("LOS MEJORES PLANES")

PAIGE confiesa a MACK que nunca ha querido a TOM como quiere a GREG. ANNE y NICK duermen juntos, y ella le dice que los chantajistas han llamado para que les entregue el resto del dinero y debe verlos sola. NICK cambia el maletín con el dinero por uno con una bomba. MICHAEL regala a LINDA un anillo de compromiso. JULIE explica a la policía que DANNY apareció borracho mientras ella nadaba en la piscina, y que la abofeteó y le dijo que la iba a denunciar por haberle disparado. Además, cuenta que corrió dentro de la casa perseguida por él, y que los dedos de este se rompieron cuando ella intentaba cerrar la puerta corredera. Fue dando tumbos y cayó a la piscina y se ahogó. La policía considera su muerte como un accidente. VAL se pone histérica cuando GARY la ve con el vestido de novia puesto, y le acusa de mentirle cuando aparece la noche equivocada, y acaba anulando la boda...
Paige tells Mac she never loved Tom the way she loves Greg. Anne and Nick sleep together. She tells Nick that the blackmailers have called for the rest of the money and she's to meet them alone. Nick switches the briefcase with money to one with a bomb in it. Michael gives Linda an engagement ring. Julie tells the police that Danny showed up drunk when she was swimming. He slapped her and said he was going to have her arrested for trying to shoot him. Julie said she ran to the house with Danny following, and his fingers were broken as she tried to shut the sliding glass door. In pain, he staggered around and fell into the pool and drowned. The police rule Danny's death an accident. Val freaks out when Gary sees her trying on her wedding dress, and accuses him of lying to her when she shows up on the wrong night. She calls off the wedding.

9/285: "SIDE BY SIDE" ("HOMBRE CON HOMBRO")

GARY confía a KAREN que se va a alejar de VAL, la "reina de su propio drama". GREG sufre un desmayo y PAIGE espera en el hospital. CLAUDIA conspira con el doctor diciéndole que GREG sólo quiere que lo visite la familia. CLAUDIA se enfurece al saber que su hermano le dejará el rancho a CARLOS y todo lo demás a MEG. Un amigo de JULIE, JASON, manda a paseo a FRANK. NICK encuentra los 20.000 que robó ANNE y confiesa que puso una bomba en el otro maletín. ANNE lo esconde en el despacho de PAIGE pero LINDA lo coge. Después, esta seduce a HARVEY para obtener unos informes de PAIGE y lo acusa de intentar seducirla. Cuando se entera de que el maletín es de ANNE, lo devuelve y se lo dice a PAIGE. ANNE ha avisado de que hay una bomba en el edificio, y PAIGE se lleva el maletín a casa. ANNE y NICK decide repartirse el millón, pero no saben en cuál de los dos maletines lo pusieron...
Gary tells Karen he's backing off from Val, the "queen of her own drama". Greg collapses and Paige waits with him at the hospital. Claudia tells the doctor that Greg only wants family to visit. Claudia's mad when she finds out that Greg is leaving the ranch to Carlos and everything else to Meg. Julie's friend Jason mouths off to Frank. Nick finds the $20,000 Anne stole, and admits there is a bomb in the briefcase he gave her. Anne has hidden it at Paige's office, but Linda has taken it. Linda seduces Harvey to get him some of Paige's reports, and then accuses him of leading her on. Finding out the briefcase is Anne's, she puts it back, and tells Paige. Anne has called a bomb threat into Sumner group. Paige takes the briefcase home. Anne and Nick decide to split the million, but don't know which briefcase has the money...

10/286: "THE LADY OR THE TIGER" ("LA DAMA O EL TIGRE")

JASON sufre maltratos a manos de su padre. ANNE y NICK llevan los maletines a una tienda de maletas y llaman para avisar que hay una bomba. TOM identifica uno de ellos como el de ANNE, lo coge y con el dinero compra un billete de ida a BRUSELAS. ANNE y NICK van al apartamento de TOM, pero descubren que se ha ido. LINDA no se separa de ALEX, que trabaja para CALLOWAY, y él le dice a este que el GRUPO está listo para una absorción. Los peones del rancho informan a GARY de que VAL se ha marchado y dijo que volvería "cuando el infierno se congele". CLAUDIA descubre que van a donar un riñón a otro paciente, y, como ella no está aún en el testamento de GREG, consigue que se lo donen a su hermano diciéndoles que él financiará una nueva ala.
Jason's father beats him. Anne and Nick take the suitcases to a luggage store and call in a bomb threat. Tom, one of the investigators, notices the suitcase is Anne's. He takes it, and with the money buys a one-way ticket to Brussels. Anne and Nick go to Tom's apartment, but discover he's gone. Linda sucks up to Alex, who works for Calloway. Alex tells Calloway that Sumner Group is ripe for a takeover. The help tells Gary that Val left and said she'll be back when "hell freezes over". Claudia finds out that a liver is going to another patient. Since she's not yet in Greg's will, Claudia tells them if Greg lives, he will donate money for a new wing, so they decide to give the liver to Greg.

FRANK acude a la escuela de JULIE porque ella ha faltado a las clases. JASON explica a MACK que su padre murió y vive en un hogar de acogida, pero no es verdad. MACK visita su casa y oye cómo le pega su padre. CLAUDIA intenta impedir que PAIGE vea a GREG y ordena que se redacte un nuevo testamento para GREG con ella como albacea. Tras someterse a la operación, GREG le pide a PAIGE que se case con él, y ella acepta por fin. NICK y ANNE se casan usando ella el nombre de su hija. Un doctor informa a GARY de que VAL podría sufrir daños cerebrales a causa de la caída. Mientras, ella se corta el pelo, dejando a los niños solos en casa. Ellos se distraen jugando en el tejado...res due to her fall. Val gets her haircut, leaving the twins home alone. They climb up onto the roof to play.
Because Julie skipped, Frank goes to school with her. Jason tells Mac his father died and he lives in a foster home. Mac talks to the school who says it isn't true. Mac goes to his house and hears his father beating him. Claudia tries to keep Paige from seeing Greg, and meanwhile makes a new will for Greg with her as executor. Greg has his operation and asks Paige to marry him. She accepts. Nick and Anne get married, using Paige's name. A doctor tells Gary she could be having brain seizures due to her fall. Val gets her haircut, leaving the twins home alone. They climb up onto the roof to play.

GARY rescata a los gemelos. CLAUDIA descubre la verdad sobre la boda de ANNE y la chantajea para que firme en el falso testamento de GREG. Luego ANNE se entera de que no queda dinero en el fideicomiso de PAIGE, y NICK debe volver a ROMA, pero promete a ANNE que volverá. LINDA comunica a GREG que el informe de PAIGE sobre CALLOWAY no era correcto, y ella ha elaborado otro. GREG convoca una reunión en el hospital y amonesta a PAIGE, que se va furiosa. MICHAEL quiere casarse en Nochevieja, pero ella prefiere esperar. CARLOS entrega a PAIGE, de parte de GREG, un regalo de Navidad: un brazalete de diamantes. MACK denuncia a la familia de JASON y, más tarde, lo encuentra delante de su casa y le dice que no tiene por qué volver a entrar...
Gary rescues the twins. Claudia finds out that Anne married Nick for Paige's money, and uses this to blackmail them into signing Greg's fake will. Anne's finds out there is no money left in Paige's trust. Nick has to go to Rome but tells Anne he'll be back. Linda tells Greg that Paige's Calloway report was inaccurate, so she made another one. Greg calls a meeting at his hospital room and berates Paige. Furious, she walks out. Michael wants to get married on New Year's Eve, but Linda wants to wait. Carlos brings Paige her Christmas gift from Greg - a diamond bracelet. Mac calls the police about Jason, and later finds Jason standing in front of his house, and Mac tells Jason he doesn't have to go in.

PAIGE sueña que se encuentra con una versión madura de si misma, desgraciada por haberse casado con GREG. Este informa a PAIGE que se sometió a una vasectomía y que quiere que firme un acuerdo prenupcial, así que ella cancela la boda. MACK descubre que JASON fue enviado a casa de nuevo porque se negó a testificar en contra de su padre. El y FRANK asisten a una lectura de poesía en la escuela de JULIE, donde ven a JASON, triste porque su padre no está, aunque se alegra de ver a MACK. Después JASON aparece en casa de los MACKENZIE. ANNE decide poner su ojo en GARY. Cuando VAL va a ver al médico, cree que GARY le ha pagado para que le diga que tiene daños cerebrales temporales como un plan para conseguir la custodia de los niños. VAL cambia las píldoras por aspirinas y se muda al rancho, ya que GARY no le deja llevarse a los gemelos. Se mete en la cama con él y empieza a besarle, pero él no cree que sea una buena idea, lo cual hace que descargue su ira sobre él...
Paige dreams she meets herself as an older woman, and is miserable because she married Greg. Greg tells Paige he had a vasectomy and wants her to sign a prenuptial agreement, so she calls off the wedding. Mac discovers Jason was sent home because he refused to testify against his dad. Mac and Frank go to a poetry reading at Julie's school. Jason is there, and he's sad his father didn't show up, but he's glad to see Mac. Later Jason shows up at the MacKenzie's. Anne decides to set her sites on Gary. Val goes to see the doctor, but thinks Gary paid him to say she has temporary brain damage in a plot to get the twins. Val replaces her pills with aspirin. She moves to the ranch since Gary won't let her take the twins. She gets in bed with Gary and starts to kiss him. He doesn't think it's a good idea and she goes off on him.

La profesora de JULIE, CHARLOTTE, invita a FRANK a asistir con ella a una exposición, y él lleva también a PEGGY. Después, ella le pide una verdadera cita. LINDA se muestra muy sarcástica con PAIGE y, en una reunión, sugiere algo que agrada a GREG. PAIGE está harta de ella y se queja ante GREG. KAREN encuentra las píldoras de VAL en el fondo de su bolso, y se las enseña a GARY.
Mac lets Jason spend the night, but says that's not a solution. Dick Lochner tells Mac that Jason's lying, and Mac goes off on him. Julie's teacher Charlotte calls Frank to go to an art exhibit. He brings Peggy. Then Charlotte asks him out for a real date. Linda is really snide to Paige. In a meeting, Linda gives a suggestion that Greg really likes. Paige is fed up with her and complains about Linda to Greg. Karen finds Val´s pills at the bottom of her purse, and shows them to Gary.

Un fotógrafo llamado STEVE BREWER se presenta a KATE y finge entrevistarla. JULIE pide a FRANK que salgan a cenar juntos y él anula su cita con CHARLOTTE. En el restaurante, ella le dice que sabe que la profesora va allí cada viernes y por eso lo ha llevado. VAL cocina los cangrejos de los gemelos para la cena y eso hace que acceda a someterse a una prueba en el hospital. JASON pide ayuda a MACK, porque le han dado una paliza cuando hacía autostop, y le pide que lo lleve a casa. MACK le explica que su padre también lo maltrataba y que no debería vivir con eso. JASON le pide que lo lleve a cualquier otro sitio...
Steve Brewer, a photographer, introduces himself to Kate and pretends to interview her. Julie asks Frank to go out to dinner, so he cancels his date with Charlotte. At the restaurant, Julie tells Frank she knows Charlotte goes there every Friday, so she took him there to get them together. After Val cooks the twins' hermit crabs for dinner, she agrees to go to the hospital for tests. Jason calls Mac for help. He's been beaten up and claims it happened when he hitchhiked. He asks Mac to take him home. Mac tells Jason that his father abused him too, and that he shouldn't have to live like that. Jason tells Mac to bring him somewhere else.

MACK se marcha a toda velocidad con él, y lo esconde en casa de VAL, pero se niega a decirle a nadie dónde está, por lo que es detenido. FRANK y CHARLOTTE salen juntos. El médico le dice a GARY que VAL no responde al tratamiento, pero podría mejorar sin él. STEVE pregunta muchas cosas a KATE sobre su padre y CLAUDIA. Accidentalmente, hace un rasguño al coche de PAIGE y esta se enfada con él, y le exige que lo repare. El agente de la condicional de STEVE le recuerda que debe conseguir un empleo y evitarse problemas, o volverá a la cárcel...
Mac and Karen go to court and ask to be Jason's foster parents, but the judge decides he should stay with his dad. Mac speeds off with Jason. He hides him in Val's house, but refuses to tell anyone where he is, so he's arrested. Frank and Charlotte go on a date. The doctor tells Gary that Val isn't responding to medication, but might get better on her own. Steve asks Kate a lot of questions about her father and Claudia. He accidentally dings Paige's car, and Paige is furious with him and demands he fix it. Steve has a parole officer who says he needs to get a job and stay out of trouble, or he'll put him back in prison.

PAIGE echa de casa a su madre, y NICK se encuentra con ANNE, pero la llama BETTY, y le dice que lo llame DIMITRI. STEVE revela a CLAUDIA que es hijo suyo y quiere saber por qué lo dio en adopción, pero ella lo echa de allí. MACK es encarcelado por esconder a JASON y GARY accede a ayudarles. VAL vuelve a casa cuando GARY está allí para recoger a JASON, y piensa que oculta a otra mujer. Luego interroga a los gemelos, que le hablan de ANNE. Los tíos de JASON van a casa de los MACKENZIE, donde PAIGE está cuidando a MEG, y exigen saber dónde está JASON. Ella acaba golpeada y JASON sale de casa de VAL para ayudarla. Sus parientes obligan al chico a subir a su camioneta y se marchan...
Claudia tells Paige about Anne's fake marriage to get her trust fund. Anne goes to the ranch to get a puppy, and is bored when Gary goes on and on about Val. Paige kicks Anne out. Nick finds Anne. He calls her Betty, and tells her to call him Dimitri. Steve tells Claudia he is her son and wants to know why she gave him away. She throws him out. Mack is jailed for hiding Jason, so Gary agrees to help. Val comes home as Gary is there to get Jason, and thinks Gary is hiding a woman there. Val questions the twins, who tell her about Anne. Jason's uncles go to the MacKenzies's where Paige is babysitting. They demand to know where Jason is. One uncle punches Paige, so Jason runs out of Val's to help her. His uncles force Jason into their truck and speed off.

KATE se entera de que STEVE es su hermano. LINDA ignora a MICHAEL para flirtear con GREG. VAL oye casualmente a GARY hablando de la posibilidad de ingresarla, y se marcha...
Mac is out of jail, and Jason's returned to his father, who promises to be nice but continues to be as abusive as ever. Jason leaves and his dad follows. Nick tells Anne he was traveling with a rich woman named Betty, and she was supposed to pick something up from her relatives. Anne pretends to be Betty, and the relatives give her a doll. Kate learns Steve is her brother. Linda blows off Michael to flirt with Greg. Val overhears Gary trying to have her committed, and leaves.

JASON yace inconsciente en el hospital y su padre es encarcelado. MACK acompaña al joven. Mientras, LINDA se acuesta con GREG y rompe su compromiso con MICHAEL. CLAUDIA se niega a revelar a STEVE o KATE el nombre del padre de STEVE. ANNE y NICK intentan averiguar si la muñeca tiene algún valor, o si hay algo escondido en su interior. El cachorro rompe la muñeca, VAL entra y ordena a VAL gritando que se mantenga alejada de GARY. Al ver al perro, lo coge y se lo lleva. Luego un hombre irrumpe en la casa y exige un vial que estaba oculto en ella. PAIGE llega con el agente de seguridad para echar a ANNE y NICK, y arrestan al desconocido. ANNE y NICK observan que el perro se ha comido el vial y entran en el granero de GARY, pero todos los cachorros parecen iguales...
Jason is unconscious in the hospital, and his dad is put in jail. Mac stays with him. Linda sleeps with Greg and breaks off her engagement to Michael. Claudia refuses to tell Steve or Kate who Steve's father is. Anne and Nick try to find out if the doll is worth something or if something's hidden in it. The dog rips the doll apart. Val comes by and yells at Anne to stay away from Gary. Seeing the dog, she takes it. Then a man breaks in and demands a vial that was hidden in the doll. Paige comes in with security to kick Anne and Nick out, and the man is arrested. Anne and Nick determine that the dog ate the vial, so they break into Gary's barn, but all the puppies look alike.

VAL decide volver al hospital para seguir con las pruebas. ANNE y NICK por fin encuentran la cápsula con un mapa de microficha en su interior. Como van tras él dos personas distintas, lo copian y se lo venden a ambas, por una cantidad total de 550.000 dólares, con los cuales alquilan el apartamento de TOM. CLAUDIA se inventa una historia sobre el padre de STEVE, pero él no se la cree. MACK se entera de que será inhabilitado por ocultar a JASON, y este se va a vivir con ellos, intentando ser perfecto y de gran ayuda. MACK le aconseja que simplemente se relaje y sea él mismo...
Val decides to go back to the hospital for further testing. Anne and Nick finally locate the capsule, and it has a microfiche map in it. Two different parties want it, so they make a copy and sell it to both, for a total of $550,000. They rent Tom's apartment. Claudia makes up a story about who Steve's father is, but he doesn't buy it. Mac finds out he will be disbarred for hiding Jason. Jason moves into the MacKenzies´, and tries to be really perfect and helpful. Mac tells him to just relax and he himself.

JASON se lleva una decepción cuando su padre no acude a una cena de despedida. Cuando comprueban que el dinero es falso, ANNE y NICK deciden conseguir un empleo, pero los dos son unos ineptos y los despiden el primer día. Por ello ANNE chantajea a CLAUDIA porque sabe quién es el padre de STEVE. KATE se sorprende al saber que este acaba de salir de prisión, y le pide a GREG que lo contrate. Cuando se conocen, los dos se enzarzan en una discusión, pero GREG le cae bien. PAIGE y STEVE se quedan encerrados en el ascensor durante varias horas y acaban peleándose. Cuando por fin pueden salir, ella va al despacho de GREG y lo encuentra intimando con LINDA...
Jason is to have a goodbye dinner with his dad, but his father doesn't show up. Finding out their money is counterfeit, Anne and Nick decide to get real jobs, but both are inept and are fired on their first day. Anne decides to blackmail Claudia because she knows who Steve's father is. Kate is shocked to learn Steve was in prison. Kate asks Greg to hire Steve. Greg and Steve meet and immediately argue, but Greg likes him. Paige and Steve get stuck in an elevator for several hours and they argue. When they're finally freed, Paige goes into Greg's office, only to find him with Linda.

Los médicos descubren que VAL tiene un extraño virus que ha afectado a su comportamiento, pero se puede curar. GREG ofrece a CLAUDIA un puesto de ejecutiva en su fundación. La Sra. RICHFIELD quiere que LINDA trabaje en su cuenta con PAIGE, y esta pone un anuncio provocativo en una línea de citas telefónicas, junto con el número de LINDA. STEVE explica a KATE que sus padres debieron retirarse de su negocio de explotación forestal a causa de una gran compañía maderera, y que su padre murió, y también su madre 6 meses más tarde. El se emborrachó y atacó al representante de la empresa, por lo cual lo encarcelaron. STEVE averigua que GREG es el dueño de dicha empresa. La redacción de JASON sobre héroes norteamericanos gana un concurso regional, y el premio final es una estancia de un año en SUECIA. JASON no quiere leer la redacción porque trata de su padre. En la ceremonia, cambia su ensayo para que el tema sea MACK: "Yo, JASON LOCHNER, soy el chico más afortunado de la Tierra. No leo sobre héroes americanos, o los veo en escenas de películas, yo vivo con uno. Si un héroe se define por sus logros de valor y su voluntad de sacrificarse, entonces el mayor héroe americano es mi padre de acogida..."
Doctors discover that Val has a rare virus that is causing her strange behavior, but it's curable. Greg offers Claudia a job as head of his foundation. Mrs. Richfield wants Linda to work on her account with Paige. Paige places a sexy ad on a phone date line and gives Linda's phone number. Steve tells Kate his parents were forced out of their logging business by a big logging company, and his father was killed, and his mother died 6 months later. He said he got drunk and beat up the company representative, and that's why he was in jail. Steve finds out Greg owns the logging company. Jason's paper on an American Hero has won a regional contest, and the final prize is a year abroad in Sweden. Jason doesn't want to read the paper, because it's about his father. At the ceremony Jason changes his essay to be about Mac: "I, Jason Lochner, am the luckiest kid on earth. I don't just read about American heroes, or see them in film clips, I live with one. If a hero is defined by his feats of courage and his willingness to sacrifice, then the greatest American hero of all is my foster father."

La mujer se comporta de forma maliciosa con ella, y prefiere volver a su casa que quedarse con ella. GREG saca a PAIGE y LINDA de la cuenta de RICHFIELD, y ellas siguen discutiendo e insultándose. VAL se cura de su enfermedad y GARY sugiere que se casen otra vez. KAREN organiza una barbacoa y, mientras juega con los gemelos, GARY tropieza con KATE y esta se lesiona el brazo. CLAUDIA nombra a ANNE para un puesto en la comisión de la fundación, por lo que GREG está seguro de que ANNE tiene algo en su contra. ANNE intenta conseguir una copia del testamento de PAUL GALVESTON y le dice a NICK que STEVE vale una fortuna porque es hijo de PAUL y hermano de GREG...
Linda's mom Doris is in town, so Linda misses her meeting with Mrs. Richfield to meet her at the airport. Doris is really bitchy to Linda, and decides to fly home rather than stay with her. Greg takes both Paige and Linda off the Richfield account. Paige and Linda continue to argue and insult one another. Val is cured, and Gary suggests they get remarried. Karen throws a barbecue, and while playing with the twin, Gary bumps into Kate, breaking her arm. Claudia appoints Anne to the board of the Foundation, so Greg knows Anne has something on her. Anne tries to get a copy of Paul Galveston's will and tells Nick that Steve is worth a fortune because he is Galveston's son and Greg's brother.

MICHAEL decide dimitir en el GRUPO. El edificio SUMNER se incendia y todas las salidas están cerradas. Casi todos los asistentes a la cena de VAL y GARY están allí aislados. GREG y LINDA usan ese tiempo de forma "constructiva", y él la invita a vivir con él en el rancho. STEVE se disculpa ante PAIGE y le da un beso. Lo mismo hacen JULIE y JASON mientras cuidan de los niños. VAL y GARY esperan fuera del edificio SUMNER y deciden que sus cenas de ensayo de boda están gafadas, por lo que, tras un momento muy tierno, en el cual GARY llora, deciden casarse aquella noche. Van a ver a un juez y se casan entre risas...
Anne proposes a charity for Claudia's group to fund - but it's really to fund her and Nick. Claudia knows, and tries to delay. Michael decides to quit Sumner Group. There's a fire in the Sumner Building, and all the exits are sealed off. Most of the people for Val and Gary's rehearsal dinner are stuck there until it's evacuated. Greg and Linda use the time "constructively", and he invites her to move in with him at the ranch. Steve apologizes to Paige and kisses her. Babysitting all the kids, Julie and Jason kiss. Waiting outside of the Sumner Building, Val and Gary decide their rehearsal dinners are jinxed. They have a very tender moment, and Gary even cries. They decide to marry that night. They go to a judge and giggle throughout the ceremony.

BRIAN y LINDA ya se conocen y acaban durmiendo juntos otra vez. Ella se instala en el rancho, done GREG intenta jugar con ella al croquet. Sintiéndose culpable por el accidente de KATE, GARY la emplea en su rancho. CLAUDIA se lleva una decepción porque quería que trabajase con ella en el G.S. FRANK se gradúa como abogado y acepta un puesto en un lujoso bufete, pero se enfada cuando encuentra a JULIE besando a JASON. ANNE y NICK roban una valiosa obra de arte de la colección SUMNER. ANNE despierta una mañana y descubre que NICK la ha abandonado y se ha llevado con él la estatuilla. ANNE exige a CLAUDIA más dinero o lo contará todo. Ella prefiere llamar a GREG y a STEVE a su despacho y explicarles que PAUL era el padre de STEVE.
Paige tells Steve their kiss meant nothing. Greg assigns Paige to be head of Sumner Plaza and introduces her to Brian, the architect. He asks Paige to dinner and they kiss. Brian and Linda already know one another and sleep together. Linda moves to the ranch, where Greg tries to get her to play croquet. Gary, feeling bad that he broke Kate's arm, offers her a job at the ranch. Claudia's upset as she wanted Kate to work at the Sumner group. Frank passes the bar and starts a new job at a fancy legal firm. He's mad when he finds Julie and Jason kissing. Anne and Nick steal a valuable piece of art from the Sumner collection. Anne wakes up to find that Nick has left her and taken the statue with him. Anne demands Claudia give her money or she will tell all. Claudia calls Greg and Steve into her office and tells them that Galveston is Steve's father.

KATE averigua que CLAUDIA le mintió sobre su beca y decide irse a vivir con STEVE. JULIE y JASON asisten a una fiesta, donde una banda apuñala a su amigo PAUL. FRANK prohíbe a su hija que salga con JASON. BRIAN se le insinúa a PAIGE y ella descubre una vídeocámara grabándoles, por lo que le da una bofetada y se marcha. Entonces BRIAN va a ver a LINDA, que accede a ello mientras pueda quedarse con la cinta. Al día siguiente BRIAN ha desaparecido y con él la cinta de LINDA. MICHAEL decide marcharse en una caravana a viajar por el país. Una desesperada ANNE es expulsada por su casero y deja a su hija varios mensajes que PAIGE ignora. ANNE pasa la noche en una cafetería bebiendo café...
Greg tells Steve that he's not entitled to Galveston's money, but gives him $250,000 and says he can either save his logging town or go to the Bahamas. Kate finds out that Claudia lied about her scholarship, and decides to move in with Steve. Julie and Jason go to a party, where a gang stabs their friend Paul. Frank forbids Julie from dating Jason anymore. Brian comes on to Paige, and she sees he has a video camera running. She punches him and leaves. Brian then goes to Linda, who agrees as long as she can keep the tape. The next day Brian is missing, and so is Linda's tape.Michael buys a van and tells Karen he is leaving to travel the country. Anne's landlord kicks her out. She leaves several messages for Paige that she is desperate, but Paige ignores them. Anne stays overnight at a coffee shop drinking coffee.

Mientras ANNE duerme en el banco de un parque, le roban el bolso y la maleta. STEVE decide volver a su pueblo y KATE le ayuda a preparar el viaje. CLAUDIA va a casa de este y esconde una pistola en su camioneta. CLAUDIA llama a la policia para denunciar que su hijo estaba muy alterado y le robó su arma. Cuando lo detienen y hallan la pistola, STEVE le dice a KATE que la posesión de armas es una violación de la libertad condicional. Entonces, él empuja al policía y su compañero dispara contra él...
LINDA no encuentra la cinta, pero sí la cinta de PAIGE, y la guarda en su coche. La policía interroga a esta, ya que fue la última persona con la que se le vio. TOM resulta ser la persona encargada de la investigación. FRANK decide volver a trabajar con MACK. La banda quiere recultar a JASON, pero MACK y FRANK les dan una paliza y hacen que les arresten. Luego KAREN recibe un disparo de pintura por parte de un grupo de adolescentes que van en un coche, y los persigue hasta que el coche se estrella contra un camión. Los chicos quedan inconscientes y gravemente heridos, y JASON se encuentra en el asiento trasero...
Anne sleeps overnight on a park bench, and her purse and suitcase are stolen. Steve decides to go back to his logging town, and Kate decides to help him move. Claudia goes to Steve's and hides her gun in his van. Claudia calls the police, saying Steve is agitated and stole her gun. The police stop Steve's van and find the gun. Steve tells Kate having the gun violates his parole. Steve pushes a policeman, and another officer shoots and kills him.
Linda can't find her tape, but finds the one of Paige, and puts it in his car. The police question Paige as she was the last one to be seen with him. The officer calls his partner, and it's Tom Ryan! Frank decides to go back to work for Mac. The gang wants Jason to join them, but Mac and Frank beat them up and they're arrested. Karen is shot with a paint pellet by a group of teens, and chases them in her car. The teens' car is hit by a truck. The kids are all unconscious and bloody. Jason is in the back seat.
