1/200 - "BROKEN KRYSTLE" ("LA DESAPARICIÓN DE KRYSTLE")

Recuperados del intento de asesinato de Sean y su posterior muerte, Alexis y Dex vuelan a L.A. y recuperan la pasión que tuvieron. Jeff intenta evitar que Sammy Jo entre en su dormitorio. Sin embargo, ella oye ruidos y entra igualmente: para alivio de Jeff, Fallon se ha vestido y se ha escabullido silenciosamente. Después de la desaparición de Krystle, Blake la busca sin descanso y, al encontrar fotos destrozadas de una sonriente Krystle, vuelve a llamar a su doctor, temiendo que su enfermedad mental se esté desarrollando. Adam se entrega al alcohol y aleja de si mismo a su familia y Dana, pero, decidido a usar a esta para recuperar a su hijo, le pide disculpas por su comportamiento. Cuando Dana coge sus maletas y le deja, se da cuenta de repente de lo mucho que la quiere. Sammy Jo está preocupada por la influencia que ejerce Fallon sobre Jeff y, tras grabar varios mensajes en su contestador, le hace una inesperada visita por la mañana. Cansado por haber pasado la noche despierto buscando a Krystle, le informa de lo ocurrido. Sammy Jo menciona el escondite favorito de Krystle en un lago apartado. Creyendo que podría haber ido allí, Jeff y Sammy Jo van a comprobarlo. Cuando hallan pistas como el diario de Krystle cerca del lago, descubren que hay algo flotando en el agua. Al acercarse, se quedan atónitos al ver que se trata de un cadáver...

Recovering from Sean's attempted murder on her life and his subsequent death, Alexis and Dex flee to Los Angeles. There, they regain the passion they once had. Jeff tries to keep Sammy Jo from entering his room after he and Fallon have just made love. Hearing a noise, however, she pushes past him and enters. To Jeff's relief, Fallon has put on her clothes and slipped out, undetected. Following Krystle's bizarre disappearance, Blake searches frantically for her. Finding smashed pictures of a smiling Krystle, he calls her doctor, fearing Krystle's mental illness may be developing. Adam withdraws into a drunken stupor, alienating his family and Dana. Intent on using Dana to help him regain his son, he apologizes for his behavior. But when Dana packs her things and leaves him, he suddenly realizes how much he truly loves her. Sammy Jo broods over Fallon's influence on Jeff's life and after leaving unanswered messages on his machine, she pays him an unexpected early morning visit. Groggy after spending most the night making calls to help find Krystle, he tells her about Krystle's disappearance. Sammy Jo mentions Krystle's favorite hideaway, an out of the way lake. Sensing she may have gone there, Jeff and Sammy Jo go after her. Finding tracks and Krystle's diary near the lake, they spot something floating in the water. Investigating closer, they are stunned when they discover a dead body.

Sammy Jo y Jeff se alegran de ver que el cadáver del lago no es Krystle, sino un hombre no identificado, pero siguen obsesionados por el misterio de cómo puede estar relacionada con él. Encuentran el coche de Krystle en Harmon Springs y el hombre responsable de haberlo robado es un asesino convicto. Frustrado por los elementos extraños que rodean la desaparición de su esposa, Blake se siente aliviado y confundido a un tiempo cuando la prima de Krystle, Virginia, llama para decirle que Krystle está con ella en Dayton, el pueblo natal de Krystle. Cuando encuentra una carta de despedida cerrada de Steven para Blake y Sammy Jo, Adam la quema en la chimenea. Sammy Jo and Jeff are relieved to discover the body they found in the lake is not Krystle but an unidentified man. But the mystery of how she is involved still haunts them. Krystle's car is discovered in Harmon Springs and the man responsible for stealing it is a convicted murderer. Frustrated by the bizarre elements involved in Krystle's disappearance, Blake is both relieved and confused when Krystle's cousin, Virginia, calls to inform him that Krystle is with her in Dayton, Krystle's hometown. Finding a sealed farewell letter to Blake and Sammy Jo from Steven, Adam tosses it in the fire. Fallon comes across the partially charred remains, and immediately suspects her brother of treachery. After Dex expresses his unwillingness to help Alexis strengthen her empire, she takes advantage of Sable's unexpected return and her political and financially affluent friend, Hamilton Stone. She exchanges vicious insults with her cousin Sable regarding Sean´s passing: "I see you're grief-stricken." "Yes, and I understand that you lost your husband, too" - Alexis adds. "Traded you in for your sister, didn't he?" "And you must be the one who shot him?" - Sable says to Dex. "Well, death is a simpler solution than divorce. Honestly, darling, first Cecil, then Sean." "I understand why you're not on the dance floor, Sable, you might trip over your tongue." Alexis persuades Stone to help her get her ships back from Natumbe, while Sable contemplates how she can benefit from their budding relationship. Blake flies to Dayton to get Krystle. Meeting Virginia, he learns that Krystle's memory has regressed back to her earlier life of growing up in Dayton. Virginia confides in Blake that Krystle had mentioned she was on the run from someone who was trying to kill her. Listening in shock, Blake is further stunned when she tells him Krystle confessed to having killed a man.

Blake sigue preocupado porque Krystle no recuerda cómo llegó a Dayton. Temiendo que reaccionará mal a la noticia de que puede estar involucrada en un asesinato, Blake le oculta la verdad cuando vuelven a Denver. Adam persuade a la secretaria de Steven, Claire Tennyson, para que trabaje para él, esperando que revele los secretos de Steven. Claire acepta ansiosa por sus propios y retorcidos motivos. Con Alexis en Natumbe con Hamilton, Sable usa su encanto seductor con Dex, divertido por sus comentarios: "¿Necesito protección?" - pregunta. "No de mí, yo me dedico sólo a la caza mayor." Al enterarse por el sargento Zorelli de que es sospechosa de asesinato, Krystle acusa a Blake de haberle mentido y luego exige a Sammy Jo que le diga la verdad. Convence a Blake para que la lleve al depósito a ver el cadáver, pero no lo reconoce. Pero Blake sí sabe quién es...

Finding Krystle and her cousin Virginia talking, Blake is pleased to see Krystle well, but remains distressed when she has no recollection of how she got to Dayton. Fearing she will react badly to the news that she may be involved with a murder, Blake keeps the truth from her when they return to Denver. Adam persuades Steven's secretary, Claire Tennyson, to work for him, hoping she will reveal some of Steven's secrets. Claire eagerly accepts, having her own devious reasons for doing so. With Alexis in Natumbe with Hamilton, Sable pours her seductive charms on Dex, who is only amused by her passes: "Am I need of protection?" - he asks. "Well, not from me, I only hunt big game." She adds: "Alexis has always had the loyalty of a streetwalker. It's Hamilton I'm furious with. I can't see why he's interested in her. He always looks to the future and God knows she's a relic from the past." Krystle is overcome by a painful migraine, as the reason for her attacks continues to frustrate her. Finding out from Sgt. Zorelli that she is a suspect in a murder, Krystle accuses Blake of lying to her. Needing to know what happened at the lake, Krystle goes to Sammy Jo, demanding to be told the truth, and convinces Blake to take her to the morgue to see the corpse. She does not recognize the face. But when Blake looks, he cringes with the recognition of who it is.

Blake pone al nombre de Jeff las acciones mayoritarias de Steven en la D-C. Enfurecido por la confianza que que muestra Blake hacia Jeff, Adam maquina para obtener el control de la empresa. Quitándole importancia a las quejas de Sammy Jo por trabajar tan cerca de Fallon, Jeff le toma el pelo cariñosamente. Krystle despierta gritando tras tener una pesadilla que revela parte de sus recuerdos perdidos. Blake le dice a Krystle que sus dolores de cabeza son un resultado de complicaciones de la caída que sufrió a caballo varios años antes. Acompañando a Zorelli al depósito para identificar el cadáver, Fallon piensa en silencio que su cara le resulta familiar. Cuando vuelve Blake, comparte sus impresiones y él reconoce que el joven se parece a alguien que conoció hace tiempo. Blake revisa viejas fotografías de 1963, donde se le ve a él con ese hombre. En una fiesta para los amigos y seguidores de Blake, Krystle sufre un doloroso mareo y, perdiendo el control, empieza a lanzar platos a los invitados hasta que Blake consigue por fin calmarla. Inesperadamente, aparece Zorelli con la noticia de que Krystle ya no es sospechosa después que una autopsia haya demostrado que el hombre lleva muerto más de 20 años...

Blake entrusts Jeff with Steven's share of leadership in Denver-Carrington. Devastated by Blake's reliance on Jeff, Adam schemes to gain control of Denver-Carrington. Making light of Sammy Jo's objections to him working closely with Fallon, Jeff playfully teases her. Krystle awakens screaming after a nightmare reveals a horrifying glimpse into her clouded memory. Blake tells Krystle that her headaches are a result of complications from the fall she took off her horse several years before. Accompanying Zorelli to the morgue to identify the body, Fallon privately thinks that the dead man looks familiar. Sharing her thoughts with Blake upon his return, he admits the young man looks like someone he knew many years ago. Blake goes through photographs dating back to 1963, showing the man and Blake together. While mingling with guests at a party for Blake's friends and supporters, Krystle is gripped by a painful headache. Losing control, she flings dishes at the guests until Blake is able to calm her. Arriving at the party unexpected, Zorelli informs Krystle she is no longer suspected of murder after an autopsy showed the body to be dead for over twenty years.

De vuelta de Natumbe, Alexis es felicitada por Dex y su pesimista diagnóstico de la Colbyco: Sean invirtió millones en empresas en bancarrota, y, aparentemente, el contable de la compañía, Fritz Heath, lo sabía. Desesperada por vender sus propiedades, Alexis planea vender el Carlton y los petroleros de la Vitron, ya que por fin se ha dado cuenta de que podría perderlo todo. Cuando se entera de que Fallon tuvo una aventura de una noche con Jeff, Sammy Jo se enfrenta a Fallon y, durante su pelea, caen en un abrevadero lleno de agua y luego se revuelcan por el barro, antes de ver que luchan por un hombre que ninguna de ellas quiere ya. Adam trama un plan para engañar a Jeff leyendo las notas confidenciales de Steven sobre el oleoducto. Fallon intenta sonsacarle a Dex lo que sabe del lago donde se halló el cadáver. Pero él se siente incómodo hablando del tema, y admite que se creó el lago tras el fracaso de un proyecto entre Blake, los Colby y la familia de Dexter. Sable está encantada de oír que Hamilton ha logrado ganarse la confianza de Alexis. Con la información confidencial de este sobre los negocios de la Colbyco, Sable intriga para quitarle a Alexis los petroleros. Blake recibe malas noticias del médico de Krystle. Notando el dolor en la cara de Blake, Fallon entra en la biblioteca exigiendo saber lo que ocurre. Mientras Krystle llora en sus brazos, Blake pide a Fallon que reúna a la familia.

Returning from her trip to Natumbe, Alexis is greeted by Dex and his gloomy prognosis for Colbyco - Sean invested millions in bankrupt companies, and apparently Colbyco's book-keeper Fritz Heath has known about this. Desperate to liquify her assets, Alexis makes plans to sell the Carlton and the Vitron tankers, as the realization she may lose everything finally hits her. Finding out about Fallon's one night stand with Jeff, Sammy Jo squares off with Fallon. Wrestling with each other, they fall into a water trough and then take a roll through the mud, before they finally realize they are fighting over a man neither wants anymore. Adam plots to double cross Jeff by reading Steven's confidential notes on the pipeline. Fallon questions Dex on what he knows about the man-made lake where the body was found. Uneasy about discussing the subject, Dex admits the lake was made after a project had gone bad between Blake, the Colbys, and Dexter's family. Sable is delighted to hear Hamilton has succeeded in winning Alexis's trust. With Stone's inside knowledge of Colbyco's business dealings, Sable schemes to take Alexis's oil tankers. Blake receives a bad news call from Krystle's doctor. Seeing the pain on Blake's face, Fallon barges into the library demanding to know what is going on. Finding Krystle crying in Blake's arms, he asks Fallon to gather the family.

Krystle se somete a más pruebas para ver la reacción a un nuevo medicamento. Virginia se reúne con Blake y Krystle en el hospital, y él desarrolla con la chica un vínculo especial. Tras dormir con Claire, Adam le dice que se busque otro empleo. Krystle recupera las ganas de vivir mientras Sammy Jo y Fallon dejan de lado sus diferencias y se vuelven amigas. Dex pide a Jeff que averigüe más del contable Fritz, y también escucha sus problemas amorosos: "Fallon quiere divorciarse y yo accedo a ello, y por fin lo supero, ¿no? Luego viene Sammy Jo y no quiere casarse, así que espero...Luego Fallon decide que quiere jugar a los médicos y Sammy Jo que quiere casarse. Fallon acaba en el asiento de atrás de mi coche y Sammy Jo lo ve. ¿Qué estoy haciendo mal?" "Intenta no hacer tantas propuestas de matrimonio" - aconseja Dex, que también intenta ayudar a Alexis a vender el Carlton a una atractiva mujer llamada Joanna Sills, sin saber que en realidad trabaja para Sable. Cuando Alexis descubre que Dex ha vendido el Carlton a Sable, se lo reprocha con ira: "¿Qué te ofreció ella, una parte del pastel o su blanquecino cuerpo?" Sable está impaciente por verla fuera del hotel:

"Alexis, considera esto un aviso oficial: Quiero que te vayas de aquí en 30 días. A patadas o a empujones, tú eliges...No me importa cómo te vayas, pero te irás." "Eres tan asombrosamente vengativa..." - responde Alexis. "¿Has comprado el hotel sólo para poder echarme?" "Claro que no, querida, librarme de ti es sólo una parte del proceso de mejoras." Ya que Fallon es incapaz de mirar al cadáver, Zorelli la lleva a una sala y le entrega una foto. Ignorando que hay una cámara enfocándola, saca la foto de Blake y la compara con la otra espiada por Zorelli. Virginia se queda deslumbrada por la opulencia de la mansión al volver a Denver con Blake y Krystle. Al enterarse de la existencia de la foto, Sable acude a Blake y le dice que, cuando todo se sepa, puede contar con ella como aliada. Aceptando la sugerencia de Sable para que pregunte a su madre por el hombre de la foto, Fallon pide explicaciones a Alexis. Al reconocer al hombre como Roger Grimes, el hombre con el que la encontró Blake en la cama, acusa a Blake de haberlo asesinado 25 años antes...

Taking the picture of Blake standing with the young man found floating in the lake, Fallon sets up an appointment with Sergeant Zorelli to view the corpse. Krystle undergoes more tests to determine her reaction to a new drug. Virginia joins Blake and Krystle at the hospital. Blake and Virginia develop a special bond of friendship. After sleeping with Claire, Adam tells her it's best she find another job. Following her tests, Krystle has a new resolve to live. Sammy Jo and Fallon put their differences aside and develop a friendship. Dex asks Jeff to help him find more out about Fritz Heath, Colbyco's comptroller. He also listens to his love problems: "Fallon wants a divorce, so I give it to her and I finally get over that, right? Then Sammy Jo comes along and she doesn't want to get married. So I wait. Then Fallon decides she wants to play doctor and Sammy Jo decides she wants to get married. Fallon ends up in the backseat of my car and Sammy Jo sees it. What am I doing wrong?" "Try cutting down on your marriage proposals" - advises Dex. He also tries to help Alexis by selling the Carlton Hotel to an attractive woman named Joanna Sills - not knowing that she is actually working for Sable. When Alexis learns that Dex has unwittingly sold the Carlton to Sable, she angrily berates him: "What did she offer you, a piece of the action or her lily white body?" Sable can´t wait to see her out of the hotel:

"Alexis, consider this official notice: I want you out of here in 30 days. Kicked out or thrown out, the choice is yours. I really don't care how you go, but you will go." "You're so amazingly vindictive" - Alexis counters. "Did you really buy the hotel just to evict me?" "Of course not darling, getting rid of you is just part of the upgrading process." Unable to view the corpse, Zorelli sets Fallon up in a room and gives her a picture. Unaware that a camera is focused on her, she pulls out Blake's picture and compares photographs, as Zorelli watches. Virginia is awestruck by the opulence of the Carrington mansion as she returns to Denver with Blake and Krystle. Finding out about the picture, Sable goes to Blake to let him know that when the story gets out, he can count on her as an ally. Taking Sable's suggestion to ask her mother about the man in the picture, Fallon goes to Alexis for answers. Recognizing the man to be Roger Grimes, a man Blake discovered her having an affair with, she accuses Blake of murdering him twenty five years ago.

Blake se enfurece con Fallon por haberle mostrado la foto a Alexis. Al oír por casualidad su queja, Krystle se pregunta por qué Blake está tan enojado por la foto. Tras jurar Alexis que le hará sufrir por matar a Roger, Dex está seguro de que sigue sintiendo algo por el difuntor: "Hay una delgada línea entre el odio y el amor, Alexis, y en tu caso, es invisible" - le dice. Decidido a no seguir siendo el amante de Alexis, Dex le hace una cariñosa visita a Joanna, la ayudante personal de Sable. Por su parte, Alexis y Sable se atacan la una a la otra verbalmente: "Las mujeres no asesinan a hombres apuestos que están locamente enamorados de ellas. Y si alguno lo hubiera estado de ti, lo entenderías" - dice Alexis. "De hecho, no necesitaba ir por ahí a flirtear cuando estaba casada. Y espero que tu flagrante adulterio no haga pensar a nadie que Blake le mató" - responde Sable. "Una bala tiene la extraña costumbre de hacer que hasta las personas más vitales parezcan muertas..." - añade Alexis. "Ahora deja de pulsar el botón del ascensor porque no tengo tiempo para los muertos ni los aburridos.

Durante una visita a la parte más sórdida de la ciudad con Sammy Jo y Virginia, Krystle busca formas de ayudar a los más desprotegidos. Cuando se le acerca un hombre con una navaja, Virginia lo ataca con una ferocidad que lleva a pensar a Sammy Jo que sus orígenes pueden ser más pobres de lo que piensan. Krystle es informada de que su única oportunidad para sobrevivir es una operación con un pequeño margen de éxito. Alexis descubre furiosa que Hamilton sólo sacó dos de sus petroleros de Natumbe. Al saber que Alexis quiere vengarse de Blake, Krystle irrumpe en su apartamento. Krystle amenaza con usar su reciente trastorno mental como excusa que justificaría matar a Alexis si lleva a cabo sus planes de acusar a Blake del asesinato de Roger: "Podría matarte, Alexis, y ningún jurado del mundo me condenaría. Deciding not to be Alexis's toy lover any longer, Dex pays an amorous visit to Joanna Sills, Sable's personal assistant. On her part, Alexis and Sable attack each other verbally: "Women don't kill handsome men who are madly in love with them. And if anyone had ever been madly in love with you, you'd understand that" - Alexis says. "Actually, I didn't need to cat around when I was married. And I do hope that your blatant adultery won't lead anyone to think Blake killed him" - Sable answers. "A bullet has the strangest habit of making even the liveliest people seem dead" - adds Alexis. "Now would you please take your hand off the button because I don’t have time for the dead or the dull."

While visiting the seedy part of town with Sammy Jo and Virginia, Krystle looks for ways she can help the unfortunate. Approached by a man with a knife, Virginia attacks him with a viciousness that makes Sammy Jo think she may be more streetwise than she wants people to think. Krystle is told her only chance for survival is an operation with a marginal chance of success. Alexis is outraged by her discovery that Hamilton Stone only got two of her ships out of Natumbe. Finding out about Alexis's vendetta against Blake, Krystle barges into her apartment. Krystle threatens to use her recent mental illness as a justifiable excuse to kill Alexis if she carries out her plans to accuse Blake of Roger Grimes murder: "I could kill you Alexis, and no jury in the world would ever convict me. So, I warn you, if you ever try to harm Blake, you'll have to answer to me." "Only you are not going to be around that long..." - she whisper

Fallon is haunted by a recurring dream of Roger Grimes. Dex hires a Vietnam buddy, Painter, to investigate Colbyco's controller. Krystle recognizes one of the caterers at her dinner party, Gibson, as the same man she sees coming out of the lake in her haunting nightmare. Fearing Krystle will put the puzzle together, Sable tells Gibson to discontinue his dives into the lake. Those are the same dives that originally uncovered the body of Roger Grimes. Thinking he has discovered an underwater passageway, Gibson is hesitant to abandon his search. Virginia reacts very strangely when she is introduced to Dex. Following the reaffirmation of their wedding vows, Blake is forced to cancel his and Krystle's second honeymoon. Krystle and Blake leave immediately for Switzerland so she can have the high risk operation...

After Virginia storms from Dex's room, leaving behind pictures of them together from a happier time, Dex is left stunned by the uncanny turn of events. Blake orders Zorelli to stay away from Fallon. To avoid having their family secret revealed, Blake vows to take the rap for Grimes' murder. Fallon continues to be haunted by the memory of Grimes. Sable discovers Gibson left his knife in Sammy Jo's barn. Confronting Gibson, she warns him to leave Denver or face her wrath. Zorelli receives a blown up photograph of Grimes with Blake, proving Blake knows more than he is letting on. Learning that Heath is a regular gambler at her friend's casino, Sable follows him there. Surprised to discover Dex has also followed Heath, Sable uses the opportunity to toy with Dex:

"You really enjoy putting Alexis down, don't you?" - he asks her. "Yes, it helps salve some of the wounds she's given me over the years." Arousing his interest, Sable then turns him off like a cold shower. Alone in her barn, Sammy Jo hears noises and takes her shotgun to investigate. Gibson jumps her and she gets off a shot that hits him. As Gibson drags himself out of the barn, a raging fire traps Sammy Jo inside.

Blake worries that Gibson is involved in trying to uncover his family secret. Dex gives Virginia a letter explaining his side of the story. She tears it up but later pieces it back together and gets teary as she reads it. Blake gives Dex an audiotape and documents relating to their secret for safekeeping. Loathing the thought of Sable winning over Dex, Alexis reignites his passion. Alexis fears the work she did to secure her ships in Natumbe may have run afoul: "Oh my God, don't tell me you're still here" - Alexis says to Sable ironically - "I thought you were just a temporary infestation.""Well, Alexis, I see you survived Africa. It's a dangerous place for most animals, but no problem for you, of course." Adam snoops through Virginia's room and discovers the letter from Dex. Adam seduces Virginia and wins her trust. Gibson threatens Sable to get him out of jail. Zorelli storms into the Carrington mansion, accusing Blake of having him pulled off the Grimes case. Denying it, Blake has him thrown out. Torn between her father and her lover, Fallon leaves with Zorelli. Sable terrorizes Alexis with the news that she has undone all her work in Natumbe and gained possession of Alexis's tankers.

Running into Hamilton at the Carlton, Alexis promises to make him pay dearly for double-crossing her. Shaken by her threats, Stone ponders the damage she could cause. Sammy Jo is mistaken for a sixteen-year-old runaway by Tanner McBride, a teen counselor. Apologizing and embarrassed, Tanner is attracted to Sammy Jo. Zorelli pleads with his captain for a second chance, only to be sternly denied. Dex begins to doubt his and Alexis's relationship can survive: "I want that Sable Colby destroyed" - Alexis says. "I want everything that that woman possesses blown off the face of the Earth. I won't rest until that woman rots in hell!"

Jeff reprimands Adam for neglecting his loyalties to Blake. Stung by his reproach, Adam swings wildly at Jeff. After several missed blows, Adam orders Jeff out of the house. Blake confronts Gibson. Offering to help him if he talks, Gibson tells Blake Sable hired him. Accusing Sable of working for Jason, Blake lashes out at her. Before Sable can explain, Alexis walks in on their fight, renewing her vow to crush them both: "Poor Krystle on life support and barely breathing in Switzerland and her devoted husband is breathing down heavily that trollop's neck" - adds a harsh Alexis. Sable finds a reason to rejoice when Joanna gives her Fritz's marker, indebting him for over two-hundred thousand dollars to her: "I'm ashamed to call that woman, cousin" - she rants about Alexis. "I'm ashamed that my family blood courses through her veins. I won't be content until I have a hammer so large, it can pound her into the ground." Dex walks in on Sable's jubilation and she throws herself into his arms, taking him and Joanna by surprise

Sable meets with Blake and Dex to explain she was searching the lake to discover what her ex-husband, Jason, was determined to keep hidden. She assures them that she had no idea Blake and Dex would be harmed by uncovering the secret that lay hidden there. Dex is intrigued by her honesty. Sammy Jo helps Tanner persuade an official to let him retain temporary custody of one of his runaways. Appreciative of her efforts, Tanner brings her a rose and leaves his number for her to call if she ever wants to talk. Sable threatens to reveal Heath's embezzling money from Colbyco unless he helps her obtain damaging information on Alexis: "I am emotionally burdened by the idea of Alexis at the helm of ColbyCo. Now, if you'd help me wake up one morning relieved of that burden, I would be forever grateful." Dex learns that Adam took advantage of Virginia after reading the letter he wrote. Outraged, he attacks Adam, threatening to kill him. Jealous of Dex's interest in Sable, Joanna accepts Adam's offer to get better acquainted. Going against orders, Zorelli copies a map taken from Gibson outlining the lake and Delta Rho. Fallon discovers the picture Zorelli took of her holding the picture of Blake with Roger Grimes, and suspects he is using her to get information on Blake. Blake is saddened by Virginia's decision to leave Denver. Sable is amused by Heath's demand for 5 million dollars for the information on Alexis. Pulling out a gun, Heath nervously aims it at Sable.

Sable is able to maintain a calm facade and convince Heath to put the gun down so they can talk. Agreeing, Heath talks about how Sable can ruin Colbyco. After Heath leaves, and, needing to be with someone, she goes to Dex. Blake questions Dex about what Adam did to Virginia to make her want to leave. Hearing the truth, Blake kicks Adam out of the house, as Blake feels his family slip away from him: "There are times when I feel that nothing is ever going to be the same here again" - he says. Alexis goes to Paris to check on Boyd's commando operation. Alexis finds herself wanting Boyd. Fallon moves in with Sammy Jo. Zorelli asks Fallon to explain why she is suddenly cold to him. Joanna confronts Sable for stepping in between her and Dex, causing Sable to suspect Joanna's loyalty. Joanna tries to seduce Dex but he turns down her advances: "Now that she's bagged you, all she has to do is mount your head on her wall and she'll really have the last laugh on Alexis" - Joanna tells him. Sable meets with Dex to apologize for their night together, promising she respects his love for Alexis. Despite their polite insistence that the whole affair meant nothing, they feel a burning desire for each other. Unable to resist, they go back to her suite and make passionate love. Before Boyd leaves for his dangerous mission, Alexis gives in to her own lust, as she allows Boyd to take her into his arms.

Sable observa cómo él entra en la suite de Joanna, confirmando sus sospechas de que Joanna la traiciona. Sable pregunta a Dex si podrá volverse contra Alexis si lleva a cabo su venganza contra Blake. Tanner pasa por el rancho para preparar la cena a Sammy Jo y Fallon, y esta se da cuenta de que ambos se sienten claramente atraidos. La hija de Sable, Monica, llega para visitar a su madre. Incapaz de confiar en Joanna, Sable convence a Monica para que la ayude en su plan para destruir a Alexis. Zorelli confiesa a Fallon que la quiere y nunca quiso usarla para llegar a Blake. Confundida, Fallon le abofetea y le ordena que se vaya. Zorelli le da la copia de la única foto para demostrar que no está utilizándola. Seeing the disarray of Denver-Carrington, Blake resumes control of the company. His first act is to fire Adam. Appreciating Joanna's knowledge of Sable's affairs, Adam tries to charm her into working for him and Alexis. Sable watches as Adam enters Joanna's suite, confirming her suspicions of Joanna's disloyalty. Sable asks Dex if he will be able to turn against Alexis if she pursues her vendetta against Blake. Tanner stops by Delta Rho to make Sammy Jo and Fallon dinner. Fallon notices Sammy Jo's obvious attraction to him. Sable's daughter, Monica, comes to Denver to visit her mother. Knowing Joanna can no longer be trusted, Sable convinces Monica to help her with her campaign to destroy Alexis. Zorelli tells Fallon that he is in love with her, and that he never meant to use her to get at Blake. Confused by her feelings for him, Fallon slaps Zorelli and orders him to leave. Zorelli offers her the only copy of the picture to prove he is not using her. Joanna accepts Adam's offer to work for Alexis. Jeff shows Blake an ad in Alexis' newspaper asking for information on Roger. Blake hardens his resolve to stop Alexis once and for all.

Upon Alexis's return to Denver, Blake confronts her about the ad asking for information on Roger. She reasserts her vow to see him pay for Grimes's murder. But Sable defends him: "Blake didn't kill Roger but whoever did, did him a favor. I am sure the bottom of that lake was warmer than your bed." "I am sure you wouldn't even care if Blake killed Freckles the Clown" - Alexis answers. "But he didn't." "No, he didn't, because you are still alive." Fearing Alexis may get a warrant to search the lake, Blake asks Dex to dive into the lake and make sure everything that needs to be hidden stays that way. Zorelli promises his commanding officer, Capt. Handler, that he will drop the Grimes case and is given his old job back. Sable is pleased when Monica moves in with her. But Sable's joy is short-lived when Alexis and Adam tell her the tankers have been destroyed. Sammy Jo offers Tanner a check for his home for runaways. She grows increasingly fond of him, unaware that he is married. Blake goes to Delta Rho to make amends with Fallon, and finds the picture Zorelli left behind. With all his faith in Fallon destroyed, Blake storms out. Sable and Dex argue once again: "Now, for the last time, what the hell did she do to make you hate her so much?" - he asks her about Alexis. "She knows. That woman knows that she did and why I'm going to make her life a living hell. Make sure you tell her that won't you, next time you sleep with the bitch." Dex goes to Alexis's penthouse to talk about her vendetta against Blake. With guilt written all over his face, she realizes he slept with Sable. Devastated, Alexis kicks Dex out. Monica tries to persuade Jeff to take Sable's side. Alexis's grief over losing Dex is diverted when Adam tells her he has found a man who knows who killed Grimes. Elsworth Chisolm tells Alexis he saw Blake carry Grimes's body out of the mine he was working on.

Alexis queda muy afectada al enterarse de la aventura que mantienen Dex y Sable, y envía a Adam a hacer las paces con Blake y espíe para ella. Blake y Sable renuevan su amistad, mientras Adam se reúne con la nieta de Chisolm, Phoenix, que la informa de que había otro proyecto en la mina. Alexis inspecciona las pertenencias de Roger y halla una foto suya: "Un regalo de Roger a Alexis, con amor, una palabra que dudo te resulte familiar" - le dice a Sable cuando le muestra la foto. De repente, Sable averigua cuál es el secreto de Blake. Adam meets with Chisolm's granddaughter, Phoenix. She tells Adam that there was another secret project going on at the mine. Alexis rummages through a box of Roger's things and she comes across a picture he gave her: "A present from Roger to Alexis, with love - a word I doubt you're familiar with" - she tells Sable when she shows her the picture. Suddenly Sable realizes what Blake's secret is. Blake confesses to Dex and Sable that the secret beneath the lake is a Nazi treasure of precious art innocently obtained by his father. Blake vows to keep the treasure and his father's involvement a secret for fear it would ruin his family name. Blake tells them his father killed Grimes because he discovered the treasure and was trying to make his fortune from it. Sammy Jo gets a rude awakening when she discovers Tanner is a priest, married to the church. Adam tells Blake that Alexis has a witness who saw him murder Grimes. Afterward Alexis rejects Sable´s attempt to help Blake:

"You are a lonely, desperate woman so starved for the affection of a man, any man, that you'll do anything for them to throw you a bone, including this pathetic grandstand play." "No more playing, Alexis. The game is over" - Sable interrupts her. "Well call up your lawyers, call out the national guard if you have to because I've got Blake exactly where I want, and his ugly secret will not be a secret much longer" - Alexis strikes back. Fallon realizes that her grandfather is also in her nightmares. She tells Zorelli that she remembers her grandfather taking her into dark tunnels. Dex dives into the lake and discovers the seal to the mine entrance is open. Zorelli watches from the shore.

Blake and Jeff are stunned when Dex finds the hidden vault beneath the lake completely empty. Returning from the lake, Jeff finds Sammy Jo waiting for him in his bed. Blake asks Sable to try and find out any information Alexis may know about the vanished treasure. Having a passkey to Alexis's suite, Sable waits for the right time to sneak in and take the painting Roger's stole from the hidden Nazi treasure. Alexis tells Captain Handler about her eyewitness to Roger's murder. Even with the witness, Handler is reluctant to reopen the case. Zorelli subtly gets valuable information out of Fallon, leading him to the uncle of Blake's half-sister Dominique. Meeting Dominique's uncle, Charles Matthews, Zorelli puts a bug in his house and learns Matthews knows more about Grimes's murder than he is letting on. Jeff warns Blake that he doesn't think Sable can be trusted. Federal Marshals burst into Alexis's suite to seize Colbyco records, as Sable unleashes her lawsuit to bring Alexis to her knees. Alexis promises Sable that she, too, knows a few secrets, and isn't afraid to reveal them:

"I offered you a chance to stop this" - adds Sable. "Is this your last desperate attempt to worm your way into Blake's bed?" "No, no, no Alexis, I'm not after Blake, I'm after you, and one way or another, I'll sink you." "Good luck, cousin, because the last time you tried that, you were the one who got torpedoed." Alexis leaves for Switzerland to protect her assets: "It’s illegal to shift funds while that order is in effect and it’s very tricky to backdate documents" - Adam tells her. "I have a little gnome in Geneva who would backdate Christmas if I asked him to" - she jokingly answers. Adam phones Blake and tells him where he can find Chisolm. While Fallon opens up to Zorelli about her grandfather and the mine beneath the lake, she doesn't know her conversation is being recorded. Chisolm makes a deal with Blake to tell him everything he knows about the secret tunnels beneath the lake. Someone watches them from a narrowly opened door. Adam pulls up just as Blake is leaving to get money for Chisolm. Going inside Chisolm's house, Adam finds him dead.

Sospechando que Blake pueda haber matado a Chisolm, Handler vuelve a poner a Zorelli a cargo del caso de Roger pese a que el joven cree que es inocente. Blake acusa a Adam de engañarlo para que parezca culpable. Cuando se entera de que Alexis ha ordenado tasar su cuadro, Sable convence al tasador que le diga que no tiene ningún valor. Además descubre que alguien está buscando una obra de Frederick Stahl, y debe negar ante Jeff que va tras Blake: "Bueno, Jeff debería saberlo ya..." - explica a Dex. "No hay nada entre Blake y yo salvo los feos rumores de Jeff. Sinceramente, ¿cuándo va a madurar y dejar de tratarme como si fuera la madrastra malvada? En cuanto regrese, iré a verla y le diré que hemos estado demasiado ocupados con nuestras travesuras para conspirar..." Adam paga a un fotógrafo del hotel para que saque fotos de Monica y Jeff juntos. Matthews advierte a Blake que Zorelli ha estado haciendo preguntas. Cuando Blake cuenta a Fallon que Zorelli la ha utilizado para conseguir información sobre Matthews, su amor por Zorelli se convierte en odio. Los sentimientos de Tanner por Sammy Jo le hacen cuestionarse sus votos religiosos. Al encontrar un diagrama con cosas de su padre que Matthews dejó, Blake averigua que hay un sistema de túneles que proviene de los sótanos de la mansión. Adam visita a Phoenix Chisolm y, a causa de su dolor, le hace saber que su abuelo conocía los túneles. Handler, suspecting Blake may have killed Chisolm, puts Zorelli back on the Grimes case, despite Zorelli's belief that Blake is innocent. Blake accuses Adam of setting him up to look like he killed Chisolm. Learning that Alexis is having her painting appraised, Sable convinces the appraiser to tell Alexis the painting is worthless. Sable learns someone has been searching for a Frederick Stahl painting. She must also deny Jeff´s accusation of going after Blake: "Well, Jeff ought to know better" - she explains to Dex. "There is nothing between me and Blake except for Jeff's nasty rumors. Honestly, when is he going to grow up and stop treating me like the wicked stepmother? The moment she gets back, I'll run into her suite and tell her that we were far too busy doing naughty things to conspire anything." Adam has a hotel photographer shoot pictures of Monica and Jeff together. Charles Matthews warns Blake that Zorelli has been asking them questions. When Blake tells Fallon that Zorelli has been using her to get information about Matthews, her love for Zorelli turns to contempt. Tanner's feelings for Sammy Jo make him question his priestly vows. Finding a diagram with his father's things that Matthews dropped off, Blake discovers that it is for a tunnel system originating from the basement of the mansion. Adam visits Phoenix Chisolm and in her grief, she blurts out that her grandfather knew about the tunnels under Blake's mansion. Acquiring a listening device that detects tunnels, Dex, Jeff, and Blake search the basement for a tunnel entrance. Finding it, they crawl into the dark space and discover a human skeleton.

Another skeleton is discovered buried in the tunnel beneath the mansion. Blake is convinced that whoever else is looking for the treasure also killed Elsworth. He gives Dex and Jeff one week to meet with Roger's widow, Emily, before he reveals their tangled secret to the police. To prove his loyalty to Fallon, Zorelli quits the police department. Sable learns she is pregnant, but is unable to tell Dex he is the father. Fallon decides to move into an abandoned cottage on Blake's property. Adam retouches the photograph he had taken of Jeff and Monica to appear as if their relationship may be incestuous. He then submits it to a sleazy tabloid for publication. Outraged, Jeff storms into the tabloid's office and begins attacking the reporter. A photographer captures the assault on film. Fallon recognizes a lullaby she hears Krystina sing. Setting up house in her cottage, she is haunted by the lullaby. Afraid her mind is playing tricks on her, Fallon thinks she sees Roger Gimes staring at her through the window. Desperate for answers, Blake goes to see Phoenix Chisolm. She refuses to let him in, creating a commotion that brings the neighbors out. They recognize Blake as the man who was with Elsworth before he was murdered. Emily Grimes tells Jeff and Dex that Roger had a son, Dennis. Seeing his picture, they are shocked by his resemblance to Roger. Using a portable phone, Dennis communicates with Handler, assuring him their plan is working.

Jeff averigua que Adam fue el responsable del artículo que lo acusaba a él y a Monica de tener una aventura incestuosa, y se enfrenta a Adam, dando lugar a una violenta pelea. Alexis intenta detenerles mientras Sable y Monica observan impotentes, y aprovecha para anunciar que Jason no es el verdadero padre de Monica: "Es imposible que cometan incesto..." "Ni se te ocurra..." - amenaza Sable. "Bueno, esa es una abominable crueldad por tu parte: Monica y Jeff no son hermanos...Siento tener que decirte esto, Monica, pero Jason no es tu padre." Humillada por la traición de Alexis, Sable se lanza sobre su prima y la ataca con toda su rabia. Adam informa a Alexis que el cuadro que le dio Roger es de Stahl, y ella adivina que Blake oculta un tesoro arrebatado por los nazis:

"Me están arruinando..." - confía a Adam. "Me están quitando la ColbyCo y todo lo demás. Si van a hundirme, voy a hundirlos a todos conmigo." Sammy Jo confiesa a Tanner que le ama, y él se siente dividido entre sus votos y el amor que siente por ella. Sable explica a Dex que es el padre del niño que espera, y él insiste en ayudarla a criar al bebé, pero Sable se niega y prefiere hacerlo sola. Luego acude a Blake en busca de consuelo y le cuenta que nunca le dijo la verdad a Monica porque ella y Miles nacieron fruto de una violación. Handler chantajea a Blake, y le presiona para que colabore y le entregue el tesoro, o bien se prepara para ir a la cárcel. Alexis va a ver a Fallon para ayudarla a recuperar los recuerdos de infancia que tiene en su interior. Fallon consigue recordar por ráfagas cómo disparó contra Roger para que dejase de golpear a Alexis...

Convinced that someone is trying to frame him for Chisolm's murder, Blake turns to Charles Matthews for answers to his father's mysterious past. Matthews tells Blake a dark secret that leaves Blake in a daze. Zorelli finds a bug in his apartment, which Dennis Grimes, and Captain Handler planted. Jeff finds out that Adam was responsible for the story that accused him and Monica of being involved in an incestuous affair. Jeff confronts Adam and a serious brawl ensues. Walking in on the fight, while Sable and Monica watch, helplessly, Alexis uses the moment to announce that Jason is not Monica's true father: "It's just not possible for there to have been incest between Monica and Jeff..." "Don't you dare!" - Sable threatens. "Well, that's unspeakably cruel of you: Monica and Jeff are not brother and sister. I'm sorry to have to tell you this, Monica, but Jason Colby isn't your father." Outraged by Alexis's betrayal, Sable hurls herself atop of her cousin, pummeling her wildly. Adam tells Alexis that the painting Grimes gave her is a Fredrick Stahl. Putting the connection together, Alexis realizes Blake is hiding a treasure plundered by the Nazis:

"They are ruining me" - she confides to Adam. "They are stripping me of Colby Co. and everything else I own. If they are going to bring me down, I'm going to bring every one of them down with me." Sammy Jo tells Tanner that she loves him, leaving him torn between his vows and his love for her. Sable tells Dex that he is the father of her baby. Dex insists that he help raise the child, but Sable refuses, choosing to do it alone. Sable turns to Blake for solace and confides in him that the reason she could never tell Monica the truth about her father was because Monica and Miles were born after she had been raped. Handler blackmails Blake, telling him to cooperate in giving him the treasure or face a prison sentence. Alexis meets Fallon at the cottage to help release the childhood memories locked inside of her. Fallon flashes back, remembering how she shot Grimes to stop him from beating Alexis.

Al mismo tiempo, Handler resulta ser cómplice de una misteriosa mujer que habla con él desde dentro de una limusina, también interesada en la Colección. Cuando Blake y Handler se enfrentan en la mansión, el policía recibe un disparo de Zorelli y Blake otro en su estómago...

Alexis threatens to sue Blake for half of the plundered Nazi treasure unless Sable withdraws her lawsuit against Colbyco: "I'm letting Blake off the hook" - she tells Sable: "Oh, how magnanimous since now even you know that he didn't kill the man." "Sable, a deal's a deal." "And timing is timing, that ship has sailed, Alexis." Krystina leads Fallon to the treasure. They are followed by Dennis Grimes, and they are left in peril. At the Carlton, Sable concludes her business with Alexis: "Now, you can take your trained monkey and go play on some other street corner" - she says, referring to Adam. Dex complains to her: "When her controller, Heath, threatened you with a gun, where did you end up? My apartment." "Naturally she’d go to the only man in Denver who found her attractive" - says a bitchy Alexis. "I was there for you, Sable, I was there. I gave you a big shoulder to cry on." Alexis adds sarcastically when she learns about her pregnancy: "You gave her more than that. How sweet, maybe now we can all have the pick of her next litter."
