235 - poor jill

February 23, 1989: Gary Ewing´s ex-lover Jill Bennett was found gagged, bound and dead in Gary´s car trunk on "Knots Landing". Did he kill her after being stalked by her? Did Val kill her after Jill forced her to overdose? Or did Jill´s brother Peter return from the dead to do just another dirty job? The answer was even more twisted than that, and seemed out of a novel by Agatha Christie: Jill had planned the whole thing to make believe he had murdered her, after threatening her in front of other people...Also in that episode, Jill had tried to poison the twins´ minds at the library, Val warned against doing that again, and Greg, now married to ex-lover Abby and devoted to politics again, decided that his daughter Meg should stay with her adoptive parents Karen and Mack, much to Abby´s anger. That was the tenth season of the "Dallas" spin-off and was still going strong, though the departure of Donna Mills at the end of the year would mark the beginning of the (slow) decline of "Knots Landing".

Episodio sólo emitido en Cataluña. La ex amante de Gary Ewing, Jill Bennett, aparecía amordazada, atada y muerta en el maletero del coche de Gary en "California". ¿La había matado él cuando empezó a acosarle? ¿O fue Val por haberla obligado a tomarse una sobredosis de pastillas? ¿O quizá el hermano de Jill, Peter, había regresado de entre los muertos para hacer otro trabajillo sucio? La respuesta era incluso más retorcida que eso y parecía sacada de una novela de Agatha Christie: Jill lo había planeado todo para que pareciera que Gary la había asesinado, después de que él la amenazara en público...También en aquel episodio, Jill había intentado manipular a los gemelos en la biblioteca, Val le había advertido que no lo hiciera de nuevo, y Greg, ahora casado con su ex amante Abby y dedicado otra vez a la política, decidía que su hija Meg debía quedarse con sus padres adoptivos Karen y Mack, enfureciendo a Abby. Era la décima temporada de la serie-hermana de "Dallas" y seguía en plena forma, aunque la partida de Donna Mills al final de aquel año marcaría el comienzo del (lento) declive de "California".
