March 13, 1985: Sammy Jo´s secret father Daniel Reece (Rock Hudson) kissed Krystle Carrington on "Dynasty". This probably is one of the most controversial kissing scenes in TV history because the news of the actor suffering aids created havoc at the show´s set. Back then, the disease was hardly known and people wasn´t even sure if it might be infected through kisses. Hence the tremendous controversy caused by Linda Evans and producer Spelling´s statements about the secrecy of the actor about his condition. Sadly, Rock Hudson died about 7 months later at 59. His schedule in the series had been previously adapted to his frequent health problems but, finally, his character also died, leaving Sammy Jo as a millionaire heiress. In the same episode, Heather Locklear´s character met by the first time her aunt Krystle´s deadringer Rita (also played by Linda Evans) and Krystle herself took her baby daughter Krystina and left her husband by umpteenth time, fed up of having to share him with Lady Ashley Mitchell (Ali MacGraw).

Esta fue seguramente una de las escenas de beso más polémicas de la historia de la TV ya que la noticia de que el actor era víctima del sida causó un gran revuelo entre bastidores. Por aquel entonces, apenas se conocía la enfermedad y la gente ni siquiera sabía seguro si se contagiaba con los besos. De aquí la enorme controversia levantada por las declaraciones de Linda Evans y el productor Spelling sobre el secretismo del actor en torno a su estado. Tristemente, Rock Hudson falleció 7 meses después a los 59 años. Su horario de rodaje había sido adaptado anteriormente a sus frecuentes problemas de salud, pero al fin, su personaje también murió, dejando a Sammy Jo convertida en una heredera millonaria. En el mismo episodio, el personaje de Heather Locklear se encontraba por primera vez con la doble de su tía Krystle, Rita (también interpretada por Linda Evans) y la misma Krystle cogía a su hija Krystina y abandonaba a su marido por enésima vez, harta de tener que compartirlo con Lady Ashley Mitchell (Ali MacGraw).
