Religion, Science and Mysticism

The Western civilization spirals among three poles: Religion, science and mysticism.

Religion forbids things such as spiritism and magic. This results in there being no evidence for such things. As there is no evidence for spiritual forces, so there is no evidence for God. This leads to science.

Science takes away the religious forbiddance against spiritual experience. When people start to have spiritual experiences – and they always will, however much you may try to argue or medicate them against them – there is nothing to forbid them. This leads to mysticism.

As people get evidence of spiritual forces, so there is evidence for the greatest spiritual force out there – God. This leads to religion.

Which puts us back at the original starting point.
