America And World War II Generation

For a long time, America was the place to go to. As the rest of the world catches up, that is no longer the case. There are now many liveable places in the world, and it is to be expected that people would be moving to all sorts of places.

I moved from America to Australia. I didn’t do that because I disliked America. I did that because I fell in love with an Australian woman, and I moved to Australia to marry her. I remain loyal to America. And I continue putting a lot of effort into addressing problems that different people in America have.

On a related issue, there are any number of people in World War II generation who complain that younger people do not have their values. That is not true. There are many people in my generation who look up to World War II generation. They are the most respected generation in history. So they didn’t get everything that they wanted; but they got most of what they wanted. That is more than can be said about just about everyone else.

I do not see why people going to other places than America should be regarded as bad news for America. In many ways it is a testimony to America’s success. They have transformed the rest of the world to make it more liveable. So now people who want a better life have any number of options before them. Once again, that is testimony to America’s success.

The World War II generation can rest secure that what they have fought for has, for the most part, materialized. Peace and prosperity have been spread around the world. Places that used to be terrible have become a lot better. Much of the world has embraced democracy. America remains the greatest country in the world. And they are the most respected generation in history.

People moving to other places than America therefore does not speak against America. It speaks for America. It shows that America has succeeded in improving much of the rest of the world. That should be regarded as a significant accomplishment. As for America, it remains at no shortage of people wanting to go there. And the people America loses through immigration abroad will be replaced by a greater number of people from around the world moving in.
