"Putting A Woman Up On A Pedestal"

I told my former wife, “Here is the beautiful goddess.” She said, “Being a person is fine.”

I do not see why there would be a contradiction between the two. You can be both a person and a goddess.

I have heard it said that women don’t want to be put on a pedestal. Their main reason for that is that they don’t want to be subject to unfair expectations. Certainly, if you put your woman on a pedestal and then start mistreating her should she fall off the pedestal, you are a jerk. However what I’ve found is that good women expect a lot of themselves; and a man who expects a lot of them as well is not doing any violence to the woman’s character or propensities.

Is it wrong to put a woman up on a pedestal? That depends on what you choose to do should she fall off the pedestal. I remained loving to my former wife even when she did not do everything right. I kept loving her, whether or not she remained perfect.

If a man is putting a woman up on a pedestal, that should be seen as an opportunity. Here is someone who values you and respects you. More women should honor such things and make a good use for them. You are being valued and cherished. And that leads to far better directions than being with someone who doesn’t value you.
