The Power of the Word
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
John 1:1
Lecture based Questions:
1. Why are words and our choices of words important?
In whatever language is used, words that are spoken or written propel energy throughout the physical world. The words themselves and the meanings behind them construct thought forms in the fifth (Mental Plane) and sixth (Astral Plane) dimensions. The intention of the words uttered are not always clear at the surface. The subtext and the subconscious command are the considerable motives creating the energy of thought.
The objective to create good chi or bad chi is the main concern for us as we choose our words for expression. We can get ourselves into trouble by trying to show off, or look cool, or seem witty, or appear humorous. During those moments, the focus is self-conscious and unconcerned about the feelings of those around us. Bad chi results when we hurt others for our own gain or for any reason. It is more admirable to be kind and good natured than to be funny and smart.
2. Which chakra is concerned with the Power of the Word?
The Throat Chakra rules all expression and also self-nurturing. When it is fully functioning at a sublime level, it extends a trumpet’s bell or morning glory of white or gold color. On Second Rays it can be a foot and a half in length. For the rest of us, it rarely exceeds eight to nine inches long. In an average person who is not great at self-care or self-expression, the main part of the chakra can appear lopsided or shrunken. Someone who loses his temper frequently would carry dirty red and black in the chakra.
This is a fairly complex chakra. Its basic flower-like vortex is usually the size of a bread plate. Around sixty-four petals make up its walls, so that it resembles a calendula. Each petal is a vortex in its own right. In a perfect world, the coloring is white and gold with blue and some emerald green. When a person is expressing himself with purposeful energy, the trumpet extension protrudes out from the center of the basic vortex , much as a bloom unfolds from within the green bud casing. Another organ of the TC is similar to the sonar organ that cetaceans carry in their foreheads. Its function is to broadcast powerful shockwaves of announcement or command. These ripples of force are transformational in nature and are not to be used frivolously or experimentally. No tourists.
A person who has chosen to cultivate the discipline of careful, positive words will have beautiful thought forms embedded throughout the TC.
3. Are there any magic words that always make good chi?
Yes here are some. In English or any other language, you might use these liberally sprinkled throughout your day. Feel free to add some more.
4. Why does saying the words have the same effect whether I say them as a joke or with serious intention?
The word has the power and the connection to the subconscious mind. Your conscious self might think that it is saying a joke without intention, but the subconscious mind doesn’t recognize a joke when it hears one. It only hears commands.
Florence Scovel Shinn tells the story of a friend who sent fake money to a friend. The intention was to fool the friend and then they would share the laugh. The emotional twist must have caused some bad chi, because the jokester wasn’t laughing when her bank passed her a counterfeit bill. We can surmise that the joker created the archetype of fake money. This thought was floating around and causing damage after its intended use.
I thought it would be funny about fifteen years ago to put a bumper sticker on my vehicle that read “I work on the graveyard shift with a skeleton crew.” At the time, I was caring for my ailing mother and working long nights in front of the computer. Well, I cursed myself!
Up until today, I was still working under that bad archetype. I found myself working in the night under some harsh circumstances for over a decade. I worked to amend that predicament with a more nurturing command: “My fun, easy work takes place in the light of day with short hours, lots of support, and excellent pay!”
Joking is good and happy-making. Just make certain that the content of the humor is positive in word and phrase. Remember that every word that comes out of your mouth is a command.
Here are some positive joking statements you can say with irony that ought to send your co-workers rolling on the floor.
Life just keeps getting better and better!
Another easy day in paradise.
Thank God I’ve won the Lotto today.
I’m lucky all the time!
I’m having the time of my life.
I’m so happy to be here today!
How did I get so lucky to have such a wonderful job!
Thank God I’m a billionaire.
I can afford any car/house/vacation that I want.
I’m having a glorious day.
This is fabulous!
I never imagined that I could be having such a great time.
What a delightful day this is.
Whoopee!
I never dreamed that I could be having so much fun.
5. How do spells relate to the power of the word?
Although spells do not necessarily employ words, they usually do. The most immediately effective spells use intentional statements that frequently rhyme and use specific words of power that force activity into the physical realm. Since any spoken or written word is a command, it can be said that many affirmations fall under the category of spells and visa versa.
Spells are organized rituals that employ symbols, artifacts, movements, and words. The intention of each could be summed up in a single sentence. The movements and words as well as the meaning of the artifacts and symbols all play within the subconscious mind. In turn, the subconscious mind generates the energies of manifestation in the physical dimension.
6. You mentioned good chi and bad chi. Why is this important when we are speaking?
Good chi makes good things happen. Bad chi creates a karmic backlash. Which would you rather have?
The intention behind everything we do is the most important component of what we do. I am not talking about the conscious reason for behavior—what you think is the motive for doing something. I am talking about the hidden agenda, the subtext, and the subconscious intention behind our actions. The old proverb “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” describes part of my point. On the surface of your mind you tell yourself what is acceptable to your self-image. On your spiritual backside, however, your territorial self and your neuroses are manipulating what you do and how you do it.
Get to know yourself and get to know how the animal part of you works. When a child or animal is hurt, it wants to lash out. Lashing out makes bad chi. When someone needs to feel important, he/she often attempts to make her/himself feel important by dominating or dissing someone else. This makes bad chi. When you are concerned with your own feelings and have forgotten to take other people into account, this makes bad chi too.
Focus your mind on what you really want to happen. Do you want to stir up bad feelings, or do you want to make people (human or otherwise) feel relaxed and nurtured? Make your intention your primary concern when you act. This is simple to say and complicated to do. You have to include the mental and emotional condition of the people involved. You have to consider the far-reaching results of what you do now. In other words, creating good chi requires an attitude of responsibility, respect, and consideration.
7. Draw or describe one of your helpers. You may use a symbol or describe a fragrance, color, shape, or name to help ground the knowledge of your helper.
8. How do my feelings of attachment affect my choice of words?
When we are attached to a situation or a person, it has a big effect on how we imagine relationship and role. You fancy that your relationship with some person or situation reflects upon your public image and self-image. It twists up the way you answer that person. It colors the way you address topics and requests. Then you presume that you play a role in this relationship. This circumscribes the themes of your interactions and limits your understanding of the whole individual you are talking to.
Severing all ties allows you to see someone without all those kooky projections. It gives your respect more breathing room. It permits you to see the Divine Self of the other one. It gets you to be your relaxed self with no expectations and no disappointments. This makes good chi.
The only attachments that mean anything are to your Guardian Angel and your Soul Mate, and these are unbreakable. Let the rest of them go.
9. When someone speaks to me harshly or I am under attack, what is the correct way to use the power of the word?
Always remember than any attack—verbal, physical, accidental, or health wise—is self-generated. Blaming the apparent perpetrator will not solve the problem but will aggravate it. Take this experience as a mirror that your Guardian Angel is hold up to you for educational purposes.
Lashing out at the perpetrator makes bad chi. Sometimes ya just gotta do it, especially if you are a cranky bitch like I am. However, just keep in mind that there are pipers to pay afterward.
Not saying something back is often the best response.
You have the right to protect your body from harm. Knowing how to do this and having the confidence that you genuinely can protect your body is often metaphysical insurance against danger. Being alert and careful is always a good idea. Being an expert at martial art is something we all have to master eventually.
All perpetrators are obeying your sub-command. You can change the direction of their energy by affirming for correction. You have the metaphysical right to affirm for anyone who attempts to make you. So quit whining about the crimes against you and get to creating the way it should be. Say it and make it happen. Besides, people are really afraid of folks who mutter under their breath and ignore their attackers.
Gentle ____(name)___ always gets it right.
