The Way of Freedom—
Correct Relationships with Worldly Aspects
A Requirement for the 5DI
Lecture based Questions:
1. Draw or describe a reminder or symbol of one of your helpers.
You know what to do! Choose from one of your hundreds of helpers and tune into that special friend. Write down your impressions.
2. What are the worldly aspects?
All the things that we instinctively hold in esteem are aspects of the worldly system. They also spill over into the Astral Realm in their less subtle forms. They are many, falling under three main categories. Following is a very general list of some of them. Note that some of the items fall into multiple categories.
•Supply
•Wealth •Income •Security •Possessions •Valuable property •Luxurious property •Decorative property •Comfort •Food •Convenience •Transportation •Clothing •Shelter •Entertainment •Medical Treatment •Formal education
•Health
•Wellness •Strength •Condition •Youthfulness •Intelligence •Genetics •Beauty •Nutrition •Medical treatment
•Worldly Power
•Status •Wealth •Beauty •Ethnic advantage •Skill •Alliances
•Cultural knowledge •Formal education •Hierarchical dominance •Authority •Strength •Influence •Connections •Honorifics •Titles •Recognition •Fame •Glamour •Mystique •Privilege
3. What errors do we commonly make with worldly aspects?
In the Land of Illusion (the physical world) it is easy to accept certain misconceptions about these things. In many ways, the doctrine of the old church could be seen as correct, but the abusive way in which it was applied was certainly wrong.
Our mistakes in this regard tend to center around attitudes about source, identity markers, and perceived accomplishment.
4. Where does my supply, health, and worldly power come from?
The source of all worldly blessings is the Spirit of Grace and Mercy. You may already know that good things enter your life as much as your subconscious mind allows them. Nothing good that we have in our lives comes to us through our own merit. That is not how the system works. The basic metaphysical law of mental focus, permission, belief, and receptivity create the conditions for God’s generosity to pour forth.
Karmic factors certainly come into play with worldly goodies, but the truth is that there is no significant difference between karmic conditions and metaphysical ability. We are what we are, and we are where we define ourselves. We experience what we need to learn, and we design our future lessons by our present behavior and consciousness.
5. What is the significance of having lots of good things?
Whatever improves the quality of physical life has a specific spiritual purpose. While we are enjoying these benefits, we are being observed by our teachers and Angels. They are determining our measure of gratitude, our ability to reach out appropriately to others less fortunate, our awareness of the conditions of others, our territorial tendencies, and the ways in which we put our blessings to use. You could say that it is a type of mid-term exam to have smoothness in our lives.
Of course, blessings are not honors signifying spiritual goodness and accomplishment. There is no correlation between worldly success and spiritual success. There is only the direct relationship between metaphysical skill and worldly victory.
6. How should a person view fame, fortune, wealth, and health?
All these things should be accepted, appreciated, and used as tools for accomplishing a successful life. They should be enjoyed for what they are and not for any other reason. They are good all by themselves without any emotional values attached to them. When we can spend a pure moment immersed in the yumminess of the now, we have accomplished a highly skilled level of consciousness.
They should not be considered as reflections of the person. They should not become part of the self-worth. They should not be taken for granted as rightful property. They should not be looked upon as trophies earned through virtue.
Now, how do we look upon people other than ourselves? It is a continual challenge, because it goes against instinct. When we use our worldly values to measure people (which is not recommended anyway), we often go by attractiveness, intelligence, skill, education, property, and income in that order. Of course, these are all trappings of the Land of Illusion! They can all be removed from life in an instant. They have no permanence. Perhaps this is why they are valued here.
When we look at people clairvoyantly, we consider none of these things. We check for brightness, depth, empathy, and angelic activity. The beauty of the spirit is permanent. The strength of character is constant. The wisdom of many incarnations is irrevocable.
7. Where do we put accomplishment in this mode of correct placement?
When you are facing the Kindel Archangel at the end of an incarnation, the question is not what you did but with whom and why. It doesn’t matter how many symphonies you wrote. It doesn’t matter how many books you authored. It doesn’t matter how many buildings have your name behind them. It doesn’t matter where you went, how high you got, or what you accumulated. The question is how many lives did you genuinely improve, how much did you enjoy it, and what were your motivations for action.
One of the most successful people I have met in this lifetime was Janos Matiz. This man was not famous. Enormous wealth eluded him, although he was prosperous and hard working. He did not look like a Hollywood movie star. He had enjoyed fame and power; suffered loss and frustration. He did not live the life he set out to, but it was a good one. At his memorial service it was standing room only in the church. The people were crammed all the way out into the courtyard. Any religious organization would have been jealous to have the group of loved ones and fans congregated to honor this wonderful human being. In fact his life ended in an attempt to help other people. There was no lofty mission other than to be brave, strong, kind, and true. He had no self-righteous-humble-holiness. He had no spiritual quest other than to help others when asked. But you can’t beat that life with a stick. Good on ya, man.
8. What does it mean to use these blessings as tools?
All these—health, love, career, wealth—are fun to have and to enjoy. They also can be used to relieve the suffering of others. They can also be used to inspire others to design better lives for themselves. For their own sakes, they have great value, but there is more.
The tool and the intention are two separate elements. The metaphysical skill to bring forth these things is only the beginning. Once you have manifested good things in your life, you can duplicate the results on a larger scale. Manifestation ripples outward into your environment if you let it. If you know how to make things happen for yourself, you know how to make things happen for your loved ones and for homeless people and for your enemies and for the cashier at the store. Sharing at a physical level is good, and sharing your metaphysical energy is even more effective.
You Guardian Angel does not counsel you in this regard. She monitors the quality of your impulses and sets the stage for your next learning experience accordingly.
Then there is the aspect of using these blessings at their pure worldly value, namely: how they register on the subconscious minds of the people you interact with. When you are attractive, prosperous, healthy, and influential, what you say is heard with more weight. The good you do is more appreciated. Your intentions find more receptive people to back you up. Here is the meat and potatoes of a successful life. Understand the interaction of your metaphysical ability with the subconscious acceptance of others. Then you can separate your identity from the entire situation and get the Light into the mix.
An old folk tale from near Hungary goes like this.
A young man wandered from town to town, doing odd jobs where he could find them. His clothes looked shabby, although he kept them as clean as he could. He often slept on the ground and rarely ate more than once a day. Children threw rocks at him. Genteel women skirted past him. He certainly knew what it felt like to be unpopular! He asked at a pub once for some food in exchange for honest work, and they chased him off because of his appearance.
Once in a while, however, someone would look into his gentle face and offer him good work, a soft warm place to sleep in, and feed him some good meals. Then his luck really turned. A wealthy farmer with a kind heart hired him for the harvest. The young man grew thick from the nourishing food. His skin took on a healthy glow. He seemed more at ease with himself and the world. At the end of the job, the good boss gave him some fancy clothes and a bag of money.
The young man walked to the next town and got a room at the very pub where he had been shooed away. He could afford a night at an inn for the first time in his life! The pub owner mistook him for someone of money because of his sartorial elegance and confident manner. The waiters fawned over him hoping for a big tip.
More and more, the young man became troubled. He picked up a piece of bread from his plate, jabbed it at his coat and said, “Eat, coat, eat. Eat, coat, eat.” Then he picked up his glass of wine and spilled it on his coat and said, “Drink, coat, drink.”
The pub owner thought the man had gone bonkers. He asked him what he was doing.
The young man answered, “Last spring, I came here looking for work in exchange for very little. My clothes were poor and you refused me in a very unkind manner. Now, you give me anything I ask for. I think it is not me you are serving so graciously, but my clothes. So I think that they should have this nice dinner.”
This story illustrates in an entertaining way that we should not identify with the good things that we have, but keep in mind the effect that they have on others.
