Subtleties in Red Energy:
The Challenge of Indignation
Lecture based Questions:
1. Draw or describe a reminder or symbol of one of your helpers.
You have hundreds of helpers—loved ones, teachers, nature spirits, animals, Masters, angels, and especially your Guardian Angel. How about focusing on her and writing down any messages she might give you? She smells good, too. Write down your impressions of her perfume.
2. Are any Rays or astrological signs more prone to indignation than others?
In this case there are no members of humanity who would be more or less inclined to express this emotion—all are equally likely to feel indignation. The triggers are what make a great difference. They vary greatly from person to person, depending on repressed emotions, past traumas, need for validation, and physical health.
3. What are the Astral components of indignation?
Indignation is a polluted form of Red Energy. It combines several conceptual elements with some emotional ones. Mainly, it is comprised of a form of defensiveness, which is an offshoot of the territorial instinct. The impulse occurs after the body perceives that a personal attack has taken place. There is a delay between the attack event and the indignation response. With time, the feelings grow and fester as the mental energy gathers momentum. This is the source of revenge.
Because Red Energy does not dissipate on its own, the indignation condition cannot go away automatically. On the contrary, the thought form that feeds it continues to build up additional Red Energy. If untreated, the thought form takes on Astral matter until it becomes a living elemental. When this occurs, the longevity of such a condition can continue through several generations.
4. What are the personal attacks that provoke indignation?
These can range from the ideological to the physical. The triggers vary greatly from person to person. Some even have little personal significance, but a great deal to do with wrong focus. Let us examine some of these causes more closely.
•IDEAS are the main cause of indignation among the astrological air signs (Libra, Aquarius, Gemini). They are also hot spots for Second Rays and Third Rays. If such a person lived in quiet isolation away from other people, this would not be a problem, for contact with the ideologies of others induces friction. This is generally because the individuals listed above tend to consider certain philosophies as personally valuable. When challenged by non-compatible behavior or verbal attack, one feels anger for not being validated in an area that is highly prized.
•IDENTITY is often a target for attack. The things we take pride in—the things that define who we think we are—can be the Achilles’ Heel of the Astral Body. Among the vulnerable items are: honorific titles, skill, mental agility, knowledge, talent, financial and social status, friendships, connections, appearance, toys, subculture, marital status, family pride, shoe & clothing size, influence, busyness, religious affiliation, career, body parts, standards of behavior, expectations of performance, and racial background. Of course, this is a challenge shared by everyone who is not yet a 3DI. However, some people focus on it more than others. Astrological earth signs (Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus) have major issues with identity. Also Seventh Rays and First Rays have an ongoing theme running through all their early incarnations. Lack of validation or feelings of betrayal are the bases for indignation here.
•EMOTIONAL deprivation is created when someone is unsupported during times of need or is oppressed by authority figures and by loved ones. This makes deposits of dirty Red Energy (as indignation over the injustice of life) deeply embedded in the Astral Body. These deposits come to the surface and explode like big pimples when the person is in a safe environment. The emotional eruptions spread toxic energy to the people around one and also perpetrate the spiritual illness back to the repressed person. Water signs (Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio) tend to fall for this type of negative behavior. Sixth Rays, Fifth Rays, and Fourth Rays particularly have to deal with this hindrance throughout the early incarnations.
•PHYSICAL SAFETY/HEALTH issues give rise to the adrenaline response in the physical body. If not cleansed during and after such episodes, resentment and anger gradually accumulate as the mental body processes what happened. All of us are equally vulnerable to such experiences.
•PROPERTY and territory are often considered to be part of the self by the subconscious mind. When they are threatened or violated, the delayed response is a volatile form of indignation. We could include this category in the Identity section above, but this particular topic is limited to physical objects and family members as territorial property. The lymbic system is intimately involved in this process, making it less a conceptual mode and more of an instinctual incident. Earth signs and First Rays are most inclined to respond to this type of situation, but we all know moments when our sense of property has been wounded. The greatest need for vengeance comes out of this context.
•WATCHDOG posture occurs when a person’s self-image includes the role of over-seer, protector, or possessor. The Astral Body is constantly alert and ready to attack. A watchdog is always the target of resentment because the other people involved rarely feel in accord with the aggressive behavior. The watchdog feels misunderstood and unsupported. As the mind stews over this predicament, indignation ensues. Fire signs (Aries, Sagittarius, Leo) can easily fall prey to this type of thinking and action. First Rays and Sixth Rays also have a tendency to engage in this expression for different reasons.
•WRONG FOCUS can be the easiest way to whip up a batch of indignation. This includes feeling like a victim when we listen to gossip about ourselves. It incorporates righteous indignation that we feel when getting emotionally involved in global events. It encompasses our tenaciously trying to figure out what is wrong with other people. It is a natural inclination with which everyone is intimately familiar. When we observe the shenanigans of other people, our sensibilities become offended, because nobody will ever match one’s own standard of ideals. Although watching other people can be entertaining, it is spiritually perilous for a number of reasons. The most important consideration is that time and energy scrutinizing other people is time and energy that should be spent examining one’s own progress.
5. How is indignation harmful?
The festering of Red Energy in the Astral Body from indignation can manifest harm in several ways—physical illness, karmic debt, Astral trauma, and spiritual stagnation.
The physical symptoms first erupt in allergies and respiratory conditions. Then processes of digestion and elimination are affected. These would include the esophagus, stomach, intestines, kidneys, bladder, and skin.
Every type of vibration that we send out will return to us 3x3. You can see why it is important to only express blessing and good wishes! Indignation is nothing but poison to the self and to others. The mind must be trained to turn its focus to the correct reaction.
The Astral Body of anyone younger than a 3DI is full of wounds both fresh and old. They bleed energy, draining the person of vitality and enthusiasm. Indignation is like an infection to these wounds and makes a small incident much more difficult to heal.
The occupation of nursing an attitude of resentment and outrage is time spent without spiritual progress. Although this is a natural type of reaction in many circumstances, it is important to realize that an end must quickly come to the expression in order for a person to move ahead in life.
6. How can we treat indignation after we have already begun the process?
Praying for an improved attitude is the quickest way out of this swampy mess. “Thank you God, for my new improved attitude!” or “Dear God, I need a better attitude right away! Thank you for helping me!” Also, praying for enlightenment without suffering for all the parties involved is a great help. Of course, this includes them and you.
7. How can we prevent these feelings before they start?
This takes quite a lot of practice and should not be expected right off the bat. This is a challenge for anyone before the 5DI. Three points to remember are Duck, Connect, and Focus.
Duck! Avoid becoming a target and avoid feeling like a victim. Although you may perceive yourself as the quarry, the attacker’s perspective is not personal. Rather he/she is using you as a projection screen for the self. This understanding makes empathy with the other person more possible. Preventing attack is also very useful here. There are always people looking for a safe target of their hostility. If you are a pleasant person, such predators will naturally seek you out. The trick is to daily protect yourself with meditation and Light work. Learn to recognize these people and elude them skillfully. Throw a couple of blessings at them as you retreat to a safe distance.
Connect your consciousness to the immense network of souls rising as a collective unit in the infinite ascension. People are what they are. Let them be. Appreciate them for the virtues that they do have, and have patience with the rest. The more magnanimous you are with others, the more patient and tolerant they will be with you. Train your mental behavior so that only good images flow from you to others.
It requires immense discipline to maintain a stream of energy focused on your own success. Any mental tangents that entertain conflict or warlike thoughts will create only more obstacles in the path to enlightenment. Therefore, construct an oasis of positive feeling in your home. Meditate regularly—not necessarily for any long period of time. Spend as much time alone as possible while you cultivate an undistracted communication habit with your Guardian Angel. As you gain strength in correct thinking, the world will have less power to move your emotions.
8. What does indignation have to do with Dark Princes?
Indignation is integrated with pride. Pride is the last hurdle before the 5DI—the Initiation of Mastery. Mischief makers love to cultivate the impulse of indignation, because it has so much potential for destruction and loss of personal power. The number one factor that turns 3DIs and 4DIs away from the Light and into that line we call “third line” or Dark Princes is that sense of hubris or righteousness that comes with indignation. It tempts the Initiate to spend personal power in a cause that seems just. It makes the wrong method seem rationalized in the course of a goal that only has substance in the Land of Illusion (the physical dimension).
9. Exercise: Discernment in Chaos
There is a hormone that can both help and hinder you in the art of discernment, depending on the level of your consciousness. This is testosterone, which sharpens visual perception—particularly hidden objects. Although men have more than women, it is present in all genders. We can invoke the constructive use of testosterone as we seek for the hidden meaning of things.
• Imagine faint tendrils of bright red smoke permeating your body. As you breathe in and out, the red smoke circulates through your bloodstream and fills you with a sensation of strength, keen awareness, and potential for greatness.
• Visualize a small room filled with swarming insects, flashing lights, swirling confetti, and loud jumbled noises. Wacky!
• You are looking for a slim, blue column of peaceful tranquility hidden in this melee. Breathe slowly and regularly as you command your attention to bring forth your prize.
