Lives of Assignment
Lecture based Questions:
1. Draw or describe a reminder or symbol of one of your helpers.
You know what to do.
2. Are there angels and Masters who work with our specific life purposes?
The Angels of Destiny are involved in the planning of our spiritual development. Their influence ranges from global planning to individual fated moments. These episodes of fate are designed to stimulate enlightenment and encourage accumulation of personal power. Our Guardian Angels also help in the arrangement of our lifetimes.
Masters and teachers have some participation in our destinies, but not at the controlling level that angels use. Our instructors sometimes use our weaknesses to put us in situations that connect us with people who will help us or, conversely, with people whom we can help.
3. What are the Lives of Assignment?
Each incarnation has a specific purpose and rhythm to it. Much as a year has its own series of karmic cycles, so do our lifetimes follow a planned pattern of objective. For this planet they follow a framework of seven types of lives. They are Awakening, Assimilating, Producing, Teaching, Service, Enhancing & Innovating, and Karmic Return.
4. When do we experience these types of lives?
Each category of incarnation follows in a progressive manner. We sometimes have multiple lives in one cycle. At certain occasions, we may experience more than one cycle in a lifetime, although this is usually rare.
5. Do certain locations have meaning in regard to what type of life we experience?
A karmic lifetime would be typically be placed in a country that is experiencing violence or natural disaster. Sometimes such a life purpose puts one in a hostage or enslaved situation in an otherwise peaceful area.
There are incarnations where we do have a choice to reside in geographic areas that have a sympathetic vibration to our assigned bodies or which hold pleasant memories from past incarnations.
We may be placed in certain societies that we can serve because there might be a relationship of past karmic debt between us and those people.
6. Does it help to know which type of assigned life one is currently having?
It is easier to feel accepting of the present when we have knowledge of the meaning for the things that we are going through. Especially in regard to service lives or karmic return lives, the pilgrim finds more peace when acknowledging that the events of this incarnation are truly correct and have a goal.
7. How can we determine which lifetime assignment belongs to this incarnation?
Strangely enough, the life choices that we tend to blame as major mistakes are the incidents that help to reveal the type of lesson we each have drawn for this time on earth. Try redesigning your life without these great turns of circumstance. Which friends would you never meet? Which lessons would you have missed? Which enlightenment would you have bypassed?
The certainty of blessing comes with the adventure of days and nights in your own skin and brain. What you have done is better than you suspect, and what you shall achieve is more important than it may seem. Dwell not on disappointed expectations, but rather on the potential for freedom and grace through the strength that you have cultivated.
8. Meditation Exercise: A Pearl Without Swine
There is a river of light from which one may imbibe for the sake of greater understanding. With this intention, let us journey there and partake of the Waters of Clear Seeing.
• Envision yourself lying down on a blue velvet couch situated on a small, beautiful, Egyptian boat.
• As you rest, the boat magically floats along mysterious waterways, down pleasant countryside areas, along verdant parks full of wonderful trees.
• Gradually the boat slows. Then it docks alongside some golden steps.
• Disembark and walk up these golden steps into a peaceful city of Light, color, and pleasant scenery. The citizens are polite, helpful, and gentle. They guide you to your destination, a temple at the heart of the place.
• In the center of the temple gushes a lively spring. The water is glowing with gold and rainbows. Your new friends hand you a ladle and bid you drink.
• The water is ice cold and tastes bright and clear. As you drink thirstily, the freshness from the water fills up your middle and then spreads outward to your toes, fingers, and the top of your head. You tingle with the aliveness of the water.
• Blink three times and what do you see? Each of your new friends is wearing a crown of gold and diamonds that you did not notice before. Although the temple had seemed elegant before, now it is splendid and bears a profound aura that inspires you.
• You return home and everything you see reveals another layer of meaning that you did not perceive before.
• Say, “Everything is easier to understand. I learn freely and quickly. I retain memory and knowledge for the sake of blessing myself and others. The meaning of things is evident to me. Deeper and deeper, the layers of truth and reality divulge themselves to my consciousness.”

Redemption Is Not a Rough Road—It’s a Big Party
To judge the choices and paths of others is to lose love and empathy for them. To strive for greater intuitive understanding of what others are suffering and achieving is to acquire personal power. The makeup of humankind is at its best a type of lattice work. The connectedness between our spiritual paths creates a powerful bonding and increases the power and lift of our collective work. In this vein of thinking, let us train our minds on the issues of helpful attitude patterns.
Some dogmatic ideas in the world of illusion interfere with personal growth. These divert energy and time from the real purpose of our living. So, let us identify one of them now and be rid of it. It belongs to the realm of guilt, fear, and abuse.
“I have wasted time/lives on this.” There is no such thing as wasted time. There is only the illusion of expected outcome. The Hierarchy puts no deadlines on spiritual management or blessing or development. Time only has value in its necessity for healing and construction. To make it a constrictor or a weapon is to fall victim to negative energy.
The names of the cycles of incarnation describe their function.
Awakening is a duration of spiritual acknowledgment in which we may enjoy our newly acquired wisdom through past experiences. The worth of what we have learned in the past is just beginning to dawn on us as we heal our Astral Bodies in the wake of the last lifetime, which was one of karmic return.
Assimilating is earmarked by the emotional eagerness to learn new things and to make them part of our increased abilities to empathize, endure, and deduce.
Producing is often a fun type of incarnation, wherein the pilgrim dedicates time and energy to working in a field of interest. These types of lifetimes do not always have active family aspects, as the emphasis is on immersing oneself in the industry of choice.
Teaching occurs when a certain level of knowledge and expertise has been acquired during the last period. The pilgrim passes along the benefits of experience and then is free to move ahead into the next phase. Teaching lifetimes are conspicuous in that the pilgrim is unable to escape collecting students or apprentices. This is an obvious calling, although each of these phases could be called so.
Service includes politics, healing, care giving, or anything that precludes a personal life. Such a stage can be mistaken for the neurosis of co-dependency, but it is not always the same. The pilgrim is not always happy with this life path, but feels compelled to follow it.
Enhancing & Innovating This can also be a fun type of life. It is stimulating and also expands the pilgrim’s porous nature so that inspiration can enter the consciousness. All the experiences of the past five seasons now come into play and bless the world.
Karmic Return enters when a certain level of spiritual maturity is reached. When the pilgrim is wise enough to not seek revenge for present pain, then past negative accumulations are brought into play so that they can be redeemed. Through suffering, service, and enlightenment, the pilgrim is passed through the great mill of karmic payoff. She or he is refined and transformed for the next circle of experiences.
