Clarity of Thought, Part I: Required for the 5DI
Subtext, Neurotic Agenda, and Sub-Command
Lecture based Questions:
1. Draw or describe a reminder or symbol of one of your helpers.
You know what to do. This is an important exercise, as it reminds you how you are never alone. You are always surrounded by helpers who love you and are waiting to give you advice and help.
2. Why is the refinement and discipline of thought an important training for the 5DI?
The perfection of the Mental Body is the final concern for the candidate of the 5DI. This not only means efficiency but also complete awareness of one’s conscious and subconscious motives. The training and practice for this skill should begin as early as the disciple can choose. It is the clarity of one’s thoughts and the integration of logic into physical life that makes the Mental Body mature and beautiful. Logic is not a simple topic. It must encompass many variables and contingencies during any given situation. Clarity of thought is a much easier process to master, yet it takes a great deal of practice to perform well and automatically.
3. What is the nature of subtext and when should it be a concern?
Subtext is the hidden meaning behind a spoken or written statement. It is usually attached to a sentence expressing an idle wish. When held to the Light (figuratively and spiritually), we can see that sometimes the subtext is opposite to the the seeming purpose of the verbalized expression. For instance, if someone says, “I wish that my health were better,” the subtext is the negative affirmation, “I feel tired and ill.” If someone says, “I wish that I could find a great job,” the subtext is “I am unhappy, can’t express my creative side, and feel under-compensated for my work.” You get the idea. The hollow utterance of a wish does not create a genie to do your bidding. It reinforces the negative thought form.
On the flip side, a pure wish has transformational power in physical life. This is generated by several possible modes of expression, but all have certain things in common. The subtext is always “I want to constantly improve the quality of my life or the lives of those around me.” The thought form of the improvement is clear, loaded with emotional juice, and pointed straight at the intention. The intention is success, enjoyment, and progress.
4. How can we correct destructive subtext statements and prevent negative subtext?
When you catch yourself in speaking harmful innuendo, you may reform the process by repeating a right affirmation appropriate to the thought form in question. For example, if your subtext was about negative health, you can repeat the affirmation “I always enjoy vibrant good health.” Remember that it takes a minimum of five repetitions to neutralize a single negative thought. The important word is minimum. You may require many more repetitions to destroy the thought form of illness that you have been maintaining for years. It is repetition—not the passage of time—that creates change in the Astral Body. Lifetimes can go by without the Astral Body making improvements, and it feels comfortable maintaining its status quo. A kick in the pants from the Mental Body (the logical mind) is required to transform the state of the Astral Body (the emotional being).
The easiest way to avoid negative subtext is to stop saying wishing statements. Say commanding remarks instead. Memorize some to start the habit. You will develop a reflex of speaking that is proactive, successful, nurturing, and full of blessing. Following are some affirming declarations that you can slip into your thought and speech patterns.
•I work as much as I like and I always make more than enough money.
•I love being with my spouse, because he/she is supportive and good natured. We always enjoy each other’s company.
•Everyone in my family always enjoys good health.
•Everyone in my family is very successful.
•I always have plenty of time for my favorite activities.
•Everything that makes me happy comes to me at the perfect time.
•I always enjoy what I am doing.
•Money keeps on pouring into my life all the time!
•In my family, we always appreciate everything about each other, and we always encourage and support each other.
•God always supplies the solution to any challenge.
5. How do I know what my neurotic agenda is? What does it look like in the Mental Body?
A neurosis is a habitual thought that creates unhappiness. With this in mind, it is pretty easy to seek out the hiding hole of certain destructive attitudes. These are deeply imbeded philosophies that have developed over lifetimes. They require pointed and disciplined cures.
The Mental Body is even more complex than the Astral Body. It likes to think of itself of a singular entity, but it is also a self-imposed environment of either illusion or truth. Thought forms can run the spectrum from simple geometric designs all the way to walking, talking people-like images. A person’s home in the fifth dimension is also an extension of the self. We traverse from one point to another by thinking of a person, thereby entering his or her milieu.
A neurosis manifests in the Mental Body as a repetitious dramatic sequence. Sometimes it takes on life-sized proportions, sometimes it is confined to a small diorama in the Mental Body’s home.
6. What can I do to change a neurosis into a constructive creed?
The individual issues can be small or testy, but the network of a person’s belief structure is a complicated, wriggling mass of different (sometimes conflicting) paradigms. It is best to not try to think of the whole campaign. Seek out and transform one issue at at time. Start at the symptom (unhappiness) and move backward to the disease (destructive doctrine). Your greatest unhappiness is the most important neurosis to fix.
Sometimes good intentions or ideals mask a neurotic agenda. For instance, say your ideal is to help your loved ones whenever they ask you. Despite your parameters of only helping when requested, you still are exhausted and have no time for your own projects. Therein lies the clue of the neurosis. You can see by the state of your well-being that the neurotic agenda is really “I try to control the lives of my loved ones, and they in turn suck the life out of me.” This is humorous to the observer, but not to any of the parties involved.
We fix the neurosis with a three part treatment—cleansing, forgiveness, and correction.
•CLEANSING is a general treatment that should be done every day. There are many techniques for cleansing the aura and the chakras, and you should use the one that suits your temperament and is convenient. Chakra Matrix therapy directly addresses the specific issues that need to be cleaned, and it is very enjoyable.
•FORGIVENESS of yourself and the parties involved is required before transformation can take place. Remember that most people are simply complying to your neurotic design. Take responsibility for the roles of people in your life. Then forgive yourself and them. Say something like “We are all doing our best according to our strength and understanding. May we all enjoy enlightenment without suffering.”
•CORRECTION This is the fun part. We reverse the creed to one that is positive. “I try to control the lives of my loved ones, and they in turn suck the life out of me” becomes “I know that my loved ones are all winners. We nurture each other and further all our successes.” Repeat the good words and enjoy the results.
7. What is a sub-command?
A sub-command is the influence that the subconscious mind exerts on the physical life. This includes the location in which you live, your home, your work, your friends, your family, and your body. How your environment acts upon you and how you interact with the people in your life are all controlled by the sub-command. That is, unless your conscious mind involves itself in the responsibility and design.
The subconscious is the most powerful authority of the events in your incarnation. It is the part of your Astral Body that choreographs everything not within your conscious spectrum of thinking. It determines how many miracles enter into your life. It chooses the nature of your experience.
8. How do we alter the sub-command?
There are two ways to affect the dominance of the subconscious—changing the Astral Body and becoming completely conscious.
At the Fifth Degree of Initiation, one is completely conscious. But before that, there is always some part of the Mental Body that lacks comprehension of the complete incarnation.
Our best tactic is to work on altering the condition of the Astral Body. This is done through prayer, affirmation, visualization, and daily meditation.
Prayer invites Divine Intervention to guide us and enlighten us. Also, I cannot tell you enough that to dialogue with your Guardian Angel is the smoothest path to a high-quality of living. Both of these recourses extend the consciousness to the Soul Body and bring forth the potential for wonders to occur beyond a person’s imagination.
Affirmation is the bread and butter of personal power. The repetition of positive statements generate an aura of transformation that works not only on the Astral Body, but on the Mental and physical bodies as well.
Visualization is the body-building of the Mental Body. If you are not a visually inclined person, then cut out pictures of items that you would like to attract into your life and tape them around your house and your office. The constant illustrative stimulation will help to develop that part of your mental ability.
Daily meditation creates substance to all of your lower and higher bodies. It is like eating nourishing food. Just as the Disney song says, anything your heart desires can come to you through this faithful practice that changes your life for the better and gives you skills in coping and endurance. It creates a core to your day of peace, strength, and logic.
9. Exercise: Let the Will of God Now Manifest
We can bypass the Astral Body’s commands by allowing Divine Intervention to be sovereign in our lives. This requires frequent and lively invitations. Following is one of them.
• You are sitting alone in a dark room. It is cold and damp. There are no windows.
•The faint outline of a door stands in one of the walls. The light shines through the cracks under the door and around it. You get up and walk to it.
•You try the doorknob, but it is locked.
•Muffled voices speak on the other side. You knock and call out. The speaking stops. Someone answers you through the crack in the door. “Hello.”
•Ask them to unlock the door so that you can get out of the room which imprisons you.
•The person answers that there is no lock on the outside and no doorknob. The room is locked and sealed from your side of the door. You must find the lock and the key.
•Feel in your pockets. There is a key ring with many keys on it. Which key will unlock the door?
•Exploring the door with your hands, you find not one lock but many locks. How do you find the right key for the right lock? It seems to be a heartbreaking task.
•You ask the person on the other side whether or not they can help you find the right keys. The person says yes. “Describe one of the locks to me.”
•You feel one of the locks and tell your helper what it is like. Your helper describes the shape of the corresponding key to you. You fit the key into its lock and turn it. a square of the wall disappears!
•The person helps you with each lock and key. As you fit together each lock and key, another square of the wall disappears until you can exit the prison.
