The Hierarchy:
Our Elder Brothers and Sisters
Lecture based Questions:
1. Who are the members of the Hierarchy? How many are there?
Anyone who is a Third Degree Initiate (3DI) or older can be considered a member of the Hierarchy. Their number increases every day, because (I am happy to state) we continue to mature as individuals and take our steps to spiritual adulthood. So, there are more 3DIs today than there were yesterday, and there will be more tomorrow than there were today.
They are fallaciously depicted on the old television show Charmed, which is still very entertaining! However, the characters called The Elders and Whitelighters (good guys who are supposed to fight anthropomorphized evil) work by a complicated and silly set of rules and restrictions that have no basis in reality. They are also fallaciously portrayed in the television show Angel as The Powers That Be—a mysterious and hateful group of manipulative entities who make the heroes feel sad and powerless.
The truth is much more simple and much more comforting. The members of The Hierarchy are our older brothers and sisters who can help us when we call to them for assistance or guidance. The only restriction is that they cannot meddle. They follow the first law of service, which is to help only when invited.
2. Does each of us have a special Master?
No. This is a weird concept promoted by the Theosophists to engage the loyalty of their worshippers. Masters teach anyone who is interested in their projects. Anyone of us might have several Masters working with us at any given time, both as a cooperative teaching effort or as independent helpers. A Master teaches huge classrooms of students in the Halls of Learning in the upper (vibrational) regions of the 5th dimension (or the Mental World). At the same time, a person who has interest in the causes that a Master is developing will gain personal attention and guidance.
A possessive attitude about your relationship with a Master is enough to sever it.
3. How often does the Hierarchy impact daily life?
A billion times a billion times a day. The Hierarchy supervises the direction of humanity’s social development. We are always under the watchful eyes of our elder siblings. We are never alone and have no need to feel isolated. They are always available to help us feel comforted, inspired, guided, and counseled.
Anytime you need to feel supported, just reach out your mind with sincerity. You don’t need to feel holy or pure or good or falsely humble. Just open your heart. Nobody knows the complicated and painful nature of life like our older brothers and sisters. They’ve seen it all and traversed a harder road than we can know. They have patience, empathy, and love to spare for us.
4.What are the differences between Lords and Masters?
What we call Masters are Fifth Degree Initiates (5DIs). They have perfected all the skills, wisdoms, disciplines, arts, and sciences after many lifetimes of experience. They act as grounding points in the physical dimension whenever they are incarnated. They have several other jobs, all related to social projects for us developing seekers. At the same time, they are attending to their own spiritual maturity. They learn from Lords, Archangels, and other teaching entities the principles and wisdoms needed for their next Intitiation. The path from 5DI to 6DI is subtle, complicated, and long.
The Sixth Degree Initiates (6DIs) are what we call Lords. They communicate directly with our Planetary Logos and translate this highly powerful frequency downstream to the rest of us. They also network with other planetary “humanities” and set the foundation for our spiritual enlightenment and future happiness.
5. Scrying Exercise: Western Astrology for relationships
The signs of the Zodiac and their elements have their most compatible matches, depending on gender and age. Fire signs and air signs go along at the same pace, and water and earth signs harmonize well together. The ideal male’s birth date for a woman’s mate is three months behind her birthday and a birth year that is four, eight, or twelve years apart from hers. Conversely, a man’s easiest match is a woman born three months after his birthday and whose birth year is four, eight, or twelve years apart from his. This is the combination for most harmonious relationships, however, the best marriage is not always the most compatible. The best relationship is based on loyalty and the building of trust. Differences in temperament and communication serve to help the partners develop in tolerance and empathy.
6. Why and how does this work? What would be the most appropriate use of this technique?
The astrological chart is like a map. It shows both the physical body you were born into and the life that you and your Kindel Archangel have designed. The possibilities, the karmic challenges, the relationships, your talents and strengths, your weaknesses—all are here for the experienced astrologer to interpret. The magnetic field of the body bears this imprint, which has been affected by the planet’s position and its relationship to its place in the solar system.
7. Draw or describe one of your helpers.
Yes you have hundreds of helpers, and the more you remember that, the easier it is to succeed in this wacky world.

The Brotherhood of the Wise and the Strong
Even as I am,
I am being cared for
By the love of those from the higher spheres
Who want me to succeed.
—Master Gamaliel
Throughout legend and history we find certain individuals who stand out as scions of society and accomplishment. Their lives have been inextricably woven into tall tales of miraculous feats and fantastic adventures, great wonders of wealth and power and awe-inspiring miracles. A common thread binds all of their stories. They give service to the betterment of mankind. Their emotions lack cognitive dissonance and personal conflict (not including childhood traumas which are needed to drive the personality forward). They bring forth innovative contributions that brought a lasting higher quality of life to all of us. Some of them are included in the deities of ancient religion. Others have emerged in recent history as great personalities of depth and wisdom.
After the third degree of Initiation (analogous to sainthood), we no longer need to resume physical life. The Astral Body has finished its life cycle, personal karma has ended, and there are many opportunities for spiritual development removed from the lower realms.
Without question, most of us decide (at least for a while) to remain in the Halls of Learning for a tour of training and teaching experience. The time for this schooling, according to earthly measurements, may seem impressively long or strangely short. The constraints on time do not apply to the laws of the fifth dimension, which folds around and within the third dimension in curious ways at times.
Others of us choose to recreate an Astral Body and to reincarnate through more adventures in the Physical World. This creates wonderful karmic energy, and helps to alleviate some of the collective negative energy around the world. An Arhat of the fourth degree of Initiation will have a life marked by personal loss and persecution. Great temptations of power and influence will plague him or her. At the same time, the Alchemist manages to perform a work of service to mankind, which may or may not be fully appreciated during her or his lifetime. an Arhat can still struggle with the need for recognition and the trappings of fame and fortune. For example, Paracelsus was ever competing with other famed physicians of the day, and le Comte de St. Germaine was as much known for his fantastic autobiographical stories as he was for feats of magic. Eventually we all grow out of these problems and desires, some of us sooner than others. It's important to remember with Arhats, that they are not supposed to be living "show-off" types of lives, but rather to be quietly living private lives perfecting their crafts and disciplines. Sometimes it happens that an Arhat is working on a skill that requires performance, and then would be in the public eye, but this is not common.
Comes the moment when a Master of the fifth degree of Initiation needs to perform a task known as Grounding Duty. One creates a new Astral Body (since the old one has passed away) and enters physical incarnation to express a life of quiet service by exampleship. Most of these Masters are unknown beyond a tiny circle of personal acquaintances. They live seemingly normal lives and do most of their work from their higher bodies. Some live as religious teachers, others as businessmen, others as scientists or artists. Yet, each forms a matrix in a complex energy network that crisscrosses the entire globe of the planet. Their physical presence on a specific geographic area is crucial to this work at certain moments. Therefore, most of them seldom travel and avoid lifestyles that would require it. They uplift the vibrations of their physical surroundings and our own levels of consciousness.
From the higher Mental Realms and upward, all Masters and Lords maintain their seats of office. The immense mental capacity of a Master can only be hinted at from some of their activities. They can attend to hundreds of points of interest at any given moment. They perform duties that reach far beyond our present understanding.
A Master instructs individual and group lessons in the Halls of Learning. Each Master has a favorite specialty to teach and encourage, yet also teaches a wide variety of other skills and wisdoms.
Under directives from the Chohi, all Masters are expected to create several projects on the physical plane. These projects usually take a century or so to fulminate and involve several generations of people. Each project is remarkable in its effect (direct or indirect) on society.
Anyone (in or out of incarnation) who calls on a Master will make a connection. One can expect advice and wisdom, but no bail-outs. People who get a thrill from knowing Master So-And-So as a personal friend will not experience genuine flow of communication, as the astral energy of such neediness repels Light. A sincere request for guidance is all a person requires, preferably without reaching out to a specific teacher.
Certain people whose auras are porous to the Light attract the attention of the Hierarchy. Masters use them to implement small projects or to contribute to larger works. The student does not control or invoke the connection, but can ask for advice (just like everyone else). Sincere seekers of Truth and those who meditate regularly (without ambitions) are likely candidates.
The main work of the sixth degree of Initiation is to be Avatar for the Planetary Logos. This involves translating edicts from the Divine Source into understandable tasks for those who serve under a Lord. Each Lord occupies a seat of office that transcends the boundaries of time and space. Suffice it to say that the meaning of Lordhood is to have unity with every Soul who is of the Sanat Kumara. That means you. That means me.
Cast within yourself. You feel the presence of any Lord that you may care to mention. Lord Christ. Lord Buddha. Each is an intimate part of you. Each of us is a potential avatar for any Lord. You have never been alone, even in your darkest moment.
