Lord Maitreya:
Some Shared Thoughts
Lecture based Questions:
1. Draw or describe a reminder or symbol of one of your helpers.
Well, perhaps you have felt the solid-like-a-rock, rounded-edges, fresh green, big smiling, jovial, reassuring presence of Lord Maitreya. If so, feel free to record what you remember. If you have another helper that you would like to honor for a moment, this is a lovely exercise in gratitude and clarity.
2. Why are there so many conflicting stories about Maitreya?
And many other great people as well! The surprise would be if there would not be so many. Legends, projections, and wishes become attached to someone who comes along that we do not fully comprehend. When a person is still identifying himself as a victim, it is normal to expect a Messiah to come along and fix the world for him.
Because the incarnation of Jesus did not have that expected worldly effect, now some people are looking to Maitreya for the same outcome. They do not understand the profound esoteric changes that swirl around us constantly as a result of our present Christ’s mandates, and they will be disappointed at the lack of physical bells and whistles during the next Christ’s Incarnation.
3. Who is Lord Maitreya?
Our venerable and loving brother consented to help our humanity during the early stages of spiritual development. A native of Venus, he and others of his planetary clan have been an immeasurable aid to virgin spirits since the crust of earth’s mantle brought forth sentient beings. The mistake that many people make in his regard is to think of him only in terms of having potency in the physical realm. His work is continual and thorough from the Soul Plane down to the first dimension.
Before this Piscean Age, Maitreya did serve the Christ Office. The karmic law of “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” was his invention, as were many social and religious standards for good behavior.
4. What will Lord Maitreya be doing in this century?
The work of Maitreya changes subtlety and gradually as humanity develops. Since no dramatic changes in consciousness are expected within the short space of a hundred years, we are not expecting any dramatic shifts in office or participation on his part. However, as there is always a steady stream of people looking to Maitreya for some type of redemptive help, he will always be available to those who ask for advice and insight. Do not be afraid to address him personally. He is much greater than you suspect in capacity and goodness. He has direct access to your Soul and can implant the seeds of good thinking right where you need it most.
The present occupation of LM lies within the scope of humanity’s destiny and our search for knowledge of physics and behavior. He is Lord Overseer for several offices and services related to humanity.
5. Can LM help me on the micro-level with my particularly knotty problems?
Mais oui! You have only to ask with a humble attitude and an open mind. I expect the humble attitude is the hardest part. Or maybe the open bit. Never mind. Just do your best and expect the best. Now, let’s say that your life has taken a turn that seems out of control. You try and you try, but your best just seems to land you face-into a brick wall. You ask for and get plenty of advice, but you are not getting the knack of the answer. Now, help will find you no matter whom you call. However, if you are having trouble implementing good procedure or finding the key to harmonize with your unique situation (and believe me, it is unique, even though many of us have had similar experiences), it would be a good idea to ask LM for the path to solving this puzzle.
Remember that the challenge is yours alone, but the way to unraveling it is always with a team. We are not supposed to go the road all by ourselves. The Network of Light raises us up and we in turn join the network to raise up others.
6. How should I ask LM for help?
Say, “Help! Right here! I’m stumped! Come on over and do that voodoo that you do so well! Whazzup? Why can’t I get this? What am I missing? If you’ve got the solution, I’ve got the time! I’m ready!
In other words, don’t waste your energy on protocol. Be direct. If you can feel objective and find some humor in your situation, your aura will be more porous and more susceptible to Divine Wisdom. Many members of the Hierarchy are famous for their great sense of humor, but nobody has the snappy mirth of Lord Maitreya. To be in his presence is to be cursed forever with the PERPETUAL SMILE.
7. So LM can solve my problems and make my life happy?
Nope. That’s your job. But he can show you how to do it and give you all the how-to manuals. In other words, he will drop the answers and the solutions into your aura and it is up to you to accept them and work them into your life. The images will be vivid and clear. The sentences will be short and constructive.
8. Can LM save the planet and make world peace?
Why are you here? What do you want, egg in your beer? The planet doesn’t need saving. And, the more you focus away from the real issue, which is your spiritual improvement, the worse things get in the world. Mind your own business, unless you are simply affirming for the Will of God to manifest and unless you are praying for the healing and blessing of all who need it.
World peace begins in your own mind. The process continues to flourish and become more beautiful as we grow older and wiser. It is a sign of weakness and immaturity to wish for outside salvation and to want to skip the learning process. LM can help you to become strong and mature and to stop wanting an easy or non-existent path.
Remember when you played games as a child? Which games were the most fun? They were the ones that you had some measure of skill at, but which still had some level of challenge to them. This is the key to enjoying the puzzle of your own existence. Savor the moment by moment choices and experiences of your thousands of lifetimes. The precious times are all the times—the dramas, the conflicts, the inspirations, the enlightenments, the romances, the daring rescues, the heroic gestures, the exhilarating education. These are what will make you unique and powerful.
***
Through the dark ages
Through the light ages
I have walked on occasion across this earth
With feet of many forms and shapes.
With bodies of various species and sizes
I have been among you.
As I crouched with the lions on the hot acres of Serengeti
I viewed the pioneers of young humanity.
Before then were the rise and fall of your forerunners
Who were yourselves
And I was also there.
Sometimes unseen and unnoticed,
Sometimes starting a legend or two,
You may call me a companion, a borrowed helper, a brother.
But the truth is that I am one of many,
And I am never alone in whatever I do.
Wherever you go, I watch over you and pray for you.

In Buddhist tradition, Maitreya (Metteyya) is the "future Buddha," a messianic figure whose appearance will signal a revival of true Buddhist teaching after a period of decay. Until his coming he resides in a celestial realm called the Tushita Heaven. Among the bodhisattvas Maitreya ranks with Amitabha and Avalokitesvara in popularity and prestige. Asian monarchs such as the kings of Burma and Empress Wu (r. 690-705) of China's Tang dynasty have identified themselves with Maitreya; many leaders of new movements and popular revolts in Buddhist Asia have done the same. In Chinese Buddhism, Maitreya is portrayed as a genial, rotund monk known as Miluofo (Mi-lo-fo) or the Laughing Buddha. In Japan, where he is called Miroku, Maitreya has had a wide popular following for centuries. The Maitreya tradition has also played an important role in such Japanese New Religion sects as Omoto and Reiyukai.
