Will Force: Its Expressions and Problems
Lecture based Questions:
1. Draw or describe a reminder or symbol of one of your helpers.
2. What is Will Force?
Will Force is what we name the Astral impulse to compel or impose change on a situation, according to one’s opinions or beliefs. The Italian word szforzando means roughly the same thing as the English word and has an interesting Astral punch to it, which describes the process of WF well. It implies making a noise in the world, getting attention, using power, moving energy, interrupting the status quo.
Although we tend to think of First Rays as being forceful, the truth is that everyone has a natural tendency to act in this manner, especially in the physical environment. Our physical bodies are wired to punch out a place in our milieux, to transform what is into what we desire, to chase after bright or shiny objects and to grab them for our own. The suspension of WF in our behavior habits creates a juxtaposition of Higher Mind (logic and knowledge of Universal Law) against instinct.
3. Is Will Force a bad thing?
It is not an unforgivable sin, but it works against your spiritual development and your happiness.
Let us look at what this does to the people (human or non-human) around us. Very often, WF causes the other people involved to feel violated. When we trespass on other people, we generate karmic debt. This, of course is undesirable.
Sometimes WF is an action that tries to bend rules or express the core belief that “I am above or beyond normal standards and restrictions.” This is an obvious expression of pride which invites attack, especially during the Open Key Period.
Consider the usage of Personal Power. Nothing depletes our spiritual bank account faster than WF. We know that the accumulation of Personal Power is necessary for the next Major Initiation. To spend PP is to postpone the Initiation.
4. Do I express Will Force during certain actions and behaviors?
It isn’t what you do, but rather why you do something that determines whether or not WF is in play. As the acting coach said to the budding star, “Remember your motivation.” The same behavior can sometimes be very different depending on the incentive and the circumstances.
Astrally, WF is characterized by the extension of the lower portion of the face into a beak-like configuration. You can feel the muscles of your face tighten. The distance shortens between the bridge of the nose and the brow. The lower jaw moves forward. Red energy swirls in the aura. A smell that is metallic, hot, and sometimes putrid comes with the action. The beak at the face extends to make pecking motions. Peace is unsettled. People become resistant. The solar plexus contracts. The environment resists. Children and animals run from it. There are certain types of actions that are native to WF, and we will mention them later in this lesson.
There is a difference between doing something with brass and doing it with WF. With brass, we express ourselves from within Divine Obedience. In other words, we are following the Divine Archetype for this moment in an appropriate manner. Our desires are suspended. Our personal feelings are not in play. We are united with correct purpose to be an agent of Light. From this internal center of balance, we act with singleness of purpose and focus of intention. There is a sword-like quality to the action, but it is not disruptive. Rather, it is creative. The chakras are open and flowing peacefully.
5. What are some examples of my using Will Force?
As we mentioned before, your motivation is everything, but certain types of behavior usually go hand in hand with the view of forcing. The word violation pops up frequently during such a list.
Traffic violations are the most common and easy to spot of WF use. When we feel too aggressive or important to be wary of the law and the law enforcers, the process is obvious. Traffic speed is somewhat different, but the law clearly goes with the concept; moving with the flow of traffic is in accord with the environment and racing through the flow of traffic is not.
Confrontations in our relationships or emotional retorts are WF. In fact, the people in our lives are continual temptations to use WF. We frequently feel conflict over our loved ones not fulfilling our expectations. This brings up urges to change them. How we use these urges is the difference between WF and serenity. Affirming for their good health and happiness is harmonious. Nagging or manipulating is WF.
6. Will I go to Hell if I use Will Force?
No, of course not. So quit obsessing about your past behavior and quit feeling guilty about any transgressions you may have already committed. THE NOW SUPPLANTS THE PAST. Besides, you have lots of company.
However, you are temporarily in your own private hell when you do use WF. The very mindset that we practice when in this modality creates illness in the body, conflict in the environment, and strife in our relationships. The stress levels in the body rise, free radicals increase in the blood stream and at the cellular level. This accelerates aging, lowers the immune system, causes inflammation, and encourages tumors and cancer viruses. Any use of WF creates an Astral backlash. This can manifest obstacles to our efforts and delays in the success of what we are trying to accomplish. The words smoothness and Will Force are oxymorons. When we are using WF with people, they usually react with anger, resistance, or avoidance. WF is definitely not a come hither fragrance.
7. Which virtues help to prevent Will Force?
All of them, however, some are more helpful than others. Patience, faith in the Divine Plan, indirect approach, obedience to Divine Guidance, respect for the Paths of other people, awareness of the body’s needs and limitations, and practicing inner peace all contribute to a clean avoidance of WF.
8. Meditation Exercise: Inner Peace
•Sit comfortably so that your body does not distract you.
•Breathe normally and deeply seven reps, focusing your attention on the sensation of the cool air filling your lungs. Resume breathing in a normal fashion for the next phase.
•In your upturned hand, visualize a hollow ball of sky-blue Light about the size of a softball.
•Make yourself very small and step inside of the ball. Note how cozy and bright it is in here.
•Sit down comfortably within the ball and relax. Breathe normally again for seven reps.
