More Gratitude and Less Attitude:
The Approach of the Light Wielder
Lecture based Questions:
1. Draw or describe a reminder or symbol of one of your helpers.
You have hundreds of helpers, so pick one and have a great time writing down a color, fragrance, or message from your sweet friend who has given you so much good aid.
2. When resistance becomes an underlying current in daily activity, what happens to the fabric of your life?
The emotion of resistance acts on the physical body to build up exhaustion and tear down the immune system. In the Astral World, resistance looks like a wall of sandbags. The feeling is temporary, but it is surprisingly cumbersome to break down and remove. Needless to say, any barrier on the Astral Plane acts as a blockage to blessing in the physical world. Resistance arises from self-involvement. When we shift the focus away from our own effort or cost and aim on the success of the day, we can step over the self-generated obstruction and start enjoying the challenge of the game.
This is easier to say than to do. The habit of resistance can be deeply programmed into one’s behavior system. Also, bodies born under the astrological earth signs (Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus) have a tendency to gravitate to this emotion. Affirmation (reprogramming) and meditation (reconnaissance over the barrier) are the tools to retrain the Astral Body.
3. When something occurs in a way that falls short of your expectations or desires, what does it really mean?
Because the subconscious mind shapes the manifestations of the physical world, it is safe to say that your subconscious command is different from your conscious idea.
The correct response in such situations is not disappointment and anger, but recognition that an adjustment needs to be made in the integration between mind and feeling. Getting the manifestation process right is a constant practice of fine tuning, similar to the way we used to twiddle the knobs on the old analog radios to get the radio reception right.
You are not a child. You make all the decisions in your path. When life delivers up what you don’t prefer, it is because your mouth and your brain were not connected when you called up the order. Do not take anything personally, but do take everything as a reflection of your consciousness.
4. When I feel attachment to something, what Astral situation do I create?
There are two varieties of attachment—sentiment and identity. Depending on how much of one’s focus an object consumes, attachments can either help or hinder our success.
Sentimental attachments occur when an object reminds one of a valuable person, moment, or goal. A person imbues the object with emotional juice from this symbolic relationship. Every time the person returns to the representative object, she or he sucks out some of the juice until it is all gone. Then the object no longer has personal value and can be released. This attachment does create an elemental life form through the repetition of emotion that the person uses in connection to the object. The relationship is usually positive, but the elemental should be blessed long after the object has left one’s possession, for the elemental is like a child and feels the effects of abandonment and displacement.
When someone tries to define her/his personality through possessions, taste, lifestyle, or social affiliations, a belief system builds up around these objects, and that is where the problem lies. If who you are is based on what you own and what you do, then what happens when that is taken away from you? Each year during the Open Key Period, a person is challenged through markers of the identity. The purpose is to learn what is real and what is illusion. The astrological conditions that make the hormonal and physical attributes of the body will change for each incarnation. So much of how we feel and respond is a temporary climate limited to only one lifetime. When an object defines who you are, the loss of that object is not only perilous to your personality, it is inevitable when your time of transformation comes to term.
5. What happens when anger is attached to money?
This is also described as a chip on the shoulder. Usually, the loss of money generates anger, and this can cause problems. Afterward, the person feels anger whenever the subject of money comes to mind, and this creates a swirling of negative energy around the person. If the cycle continues, money and the person build up an increasingly negative relationship until other types of unpleasant associations are drawn into the vortex.
We always want to have a light-hearted, generous, open-handed, abundant relationship with money. Then we avoid lack, constriction, and tragedy. Some affirmations that are well-used every day are:
• God gives me all this and more.
• I always come home richer than when I left.
• God is my generous employer.
• God the Great Provider creates abundance and blessing in my life.
• Every day is chock-a-block full of my success and wealth.
• My heart is at rest because I trust in the order of the Divine Plan.
• Thank you God, for providing me with ____________ at the perfect time and place.
• God’s blessings transcend my limitations.
6. What happens when anger is attached to relationships?
Usually, the lack of validation generates anger. The safest and most powerful source of confirmation in our lives is always the Divine Parent. To expect the same from imperfect people is to set ourselves up for disappointment.
• God knows me, God cares for me, God solves all my errors in judgment and shows me the way to bless my feelings.
• God surrounds me with people who only wish me well. God fills my days and nights with people whom I love and admire.
When we associate a particular person to a negative emotion, an Astral bond is attached to both parties that typically creates karma for many lifetimes. The harmful feeling attracts more hostility to the sender. This destructive interaction can escalate to violence of emotion or behavior. It can also give rise to fatal illness. One of the parties must stop the response cycle and begin to heal the relationship with blessings and affirmations. Physical separation is sometimes necessary to help the transforming participant to stop the bad feelings and begin the good ones.
All people (including animals) in our lives deserve and need our three-fold treatment. If I cannot act like an angel for a few minutes every day, then who will?
1) daily affirmation of their success, happiness, well-being, support, and affection.
2) verbal and physical affection, encouragement, and support.
3) prayers for their blessing and fulfillment of their Divine Plan.
7. When am I being selfish and when am I being correct in my quest for a successful life?
There is a distinction between being self-absorbed and being focused on one’s success. One looks like a dark cloud in the Astral World, and the other resembles a shining star in the aura. The big difference is attitude.
Being self-absorbed has all your focus turned inward. It means to feel fear and worry about the cost of energy, effort, and discomfort required to accomplish a task or commitment. It puts off enlightenment. It repels others. It shuts out good feelings. It attracts malaise and illness. Everything you do is tallied on your Debt to Myself list, and people get the feeling that they are not real to you, rather that they only hold value as useful to your existence.
When your consciousness is focused on success, your attention is turned outward. You, your goal, and the universe are connected in a symbiotic ascending movement. Your commitment to success is stronger than any concern over the effort involved. You understand that all life is part of a Divine Pattern and that God sends you strength, helpers, and information as you need it. You understand that the people in your life hold the key to your wisdom, power, and transformation—they are elements of the design of success rather than distractions from it. You look for enlightenment from unexpected sources. Your calmness, confidence, and relaxed manner are very attractive to others.
8. What happens to our life energy when we want to improve the lives of other people?
This even applies to members of our Karmic Circle. For a very good reason, the Law of Service forbids giving help (or advice) without someone’s request or emotional contract. Physical effort without Divine Compulsion generates resistance, depletes Personal Power, and uses Will Force.
The physical exertion of giving unsolicited attention spends Personal Power. The time used for the intervention also spends Personal Power, as well as one’s own time for success. The act results invariably in creating resistance between you and the person you are advising. This is because the recipient perceives it as a non-validating act, and possibly as an attack. As the Tai Chi Master said, “Do nothing extra.”
What is acceptable and highly encouraged is to pray and affirm for the Divine Plan to manifest for others, and for them to achieve success beyond their happiest fantasies. This Light work does not spend Personal Power, in fact, it accumulates it. Anytime we pray for the blessings of others, the good energy we send out comes back into our lives.
9. Exercise: Looking over the Sandbags
Sometimes we are unaware of feeling resistant, which can occur when we are physically tired, overly committed, facing changes, or waiting for opportunities to enter our lives.
• Visualize yourself lounging comfortably on a soft bed of pillows and velvets, under a lovely shady tree.
• You look around you and see that you are in a pleasant meadow surrounded by deep thick forest. The weather is mild and comfortable. You can hear birds twittering happily in the distance.
• You notice that at your side is a large pile of brightly colored glass pebbles. They are very pretty and resemble clear gems.
• Pick one up, and toss it into the meadow in front of you. An invisible barrier prevents the pebble from flying the full distance, and it falls dully after it strikes the force field. You have been an unwitting prisoner.
• Throw another pebble harder at the force field. You can see the air ripple as the pebble hits against it. Then it ricochets back toward you. Ouch!
• You stand up and examine this unsuspected obstruction. How tall is it? It feel like a very heavy and thick wall of sand.
• In your pocket is a golden knife. Take it out and puncture the barrier with it. You see a grainy substance draining out of the invisible wall. Soon the obstruction is low enough to step over. You are free to move about.
