Personal Power:
Its Development and Function
Or, PP—!
Lecture based Questions:
1. What is personal power in the general sense?
This is what we call the accumulation of spiritual energy. It describes experience, wisdom, maturity, virtue, character, and universal influence. You can call it money in your spiritual savings bank. The more you accumulate, the higher you rise in the spiritual power game. It is also possible to lose it through certain mistakes in behavior and choice.
We are constantly accumulating and losing a certain amount of PP during incarnations. We can also gain and lose in between incarnations, but the process goes faster during physical lifetimes.
2. What are three reasons for accumulating personal power?
A) Manifesting things is easier. You and your thoughts become more attractive as you acquire more PP. In other words, if you had 500,000,000 PP, you would barely have to think about something to watch it materialize in your life. Cool, huh? Of course, you would have to be very careful to think good things, but the large PP account indicates that you would have already mastered the discipline of positive thinking.
B) PP carries with it a certain aura of influence. People are naturally attracted to power, and they find high PP individuals to be extremely desirable company.
C) You need it for initiations. For instance, (these are not the exact amounts—merely random numbers to illustrate the contrast in PP quotas) A 1DI (metaphorically) needs 1,000 PP; a 2DI needs 250,000 PP; a 3DI needs 1,500,000 PP a 4DI needs 500,000,000 PP, a 5DI needs 150,000,000,000 PP, and a 6DI needs 900,000,000,000,000 PP. So, you see, it is extremely important to keep saving up those PP! The different amounts of PP needed for an initiation is a proportion issue that can be observed in the Fibonacci number sequence. The amount of learning that it takes to get from one initiation to another builds on the last initiation. The amount of effort and learning increases with the elevation of initiation.
We do this by experiencing the following: suffering, empathy, knowledge, the development of virtues, the strengthening of character, spreading good chi to other people, allies gained, and acts of sacrifice.
There is peculiar benefit to being in the physical dimension. We get more PP at an increasingly higher rate the longer we remain in any single incarnation. The longer you live, the more PP you gain for every minute you keep breathing! This is due in part to the physical pain and difficulty of aging. Another reason is the emotional challenge of living past one’s technological age. Sorrow factors largely in earning PP, and any elderly person can tell you the confusion and grief that comes with outliving everyone from your childhood. So, keep breathing and enjoy the trip.
3. How do we lose it?
The mental, emotional, and physical behavior of forcing can bleed away your PP. Mentally, the attitude is hard, controlling, and self-righteous. Astrally, the facial area extends itself to resemble a beak. The neck sometimes lengthens proudly. Still, physical actions do the most damage to your PP account. Confrontation, manipulation, or acting as though you were above the law or the rules spends energy, and that energy comes from your PP.
Will force, then, is the only way that we fritter away our hard earned PP. In a single day, you will notice that normal people tend speak up, run the stop sign, cut off others in traffic, act with aggression and competition, and leap for public recognition. All these are typical behaviors. We are hard-wired to react this way. Most people spend their days accumulating PP through life experience and then losing some of it through willful expression.
4. How does personal power affect the Astral and Mental Bodies?
PP is actually a description of wisdom and experience. Therefore, the wiser and more practiced we become, the greater our virtue, character, and correct choices. Both the Astral Body and the Mental Body reflect our goodness through beauty, clarity, vibration, and ability.
5. Why does The Way forbid us to use our personal power?
One of the Laws of Service requires that all our energetic work be done through Divine Source. Divine Power is always just the correct amount. It automatically targets the place of need. The timing is always impeccable. Why would you want to mess that up by using your power? That would be goofy!
Then there is the fact that you NEED TO HANG ON to your own goodies. Once you have lost some, you have to earn it back. There is no quick remedy. Since you need it for your next initiation, you are slowing down your own party time.
So, the challenge of the game is this:
1. Refrain from expressing will force and wanting to be the big hero;
2. Always check with you Guardian Angel on the correctness of any choice;
3. Always use Divine Power for any healing or helping or manifesting.
6. Meditation Exercise: The Golden Crown
Tongue on the roof of your mouth, visualize Divine Golden Light pouring into your crown chakra. It resembles a small waterfall flowing from an invisible source into the top of your head. Also, something golden [shaped like a flower] is glowing just above your third eye chakra at the front top ridge of your head. Maintain this image as long as possible. Breathe in a relaxed manner.
During the course of your daily activities, try to maintain this visualization as you drive, walk, or fall asleep. Eventually, we hope to maintain continuous connection with this archetype.
The Waterfall is a continuous benediction from the Christ Office. The Golden Flower is an organ of outpouring to others. This is a requirement for the Third Degree of Initiation.
7. Draw or describe one of your helpers.

These are the required elements of personal power, and they are twelve, divided by four groupings.
KNOWLEDGE AND CULTIVATION OF MY LIFE
1.
Alertness:
One cannot see clearly through the veils of illusion if one is busy entertaining oneself or watching oneself in a self-conscious way. Therefore, endeavor to lengthen your moments of outward focus.
Remember as you view the world and the people in it that they are connected to you and—somehow—are extensions of your consciousness. What you perceive is a mandate for your spiritual behavior. Let your environment guide your next round of self-improvement.
Alertness is required for latching onto opportunities.
2. Carefulness:
To be self-aware is to be vigilant of one’s behavior. We wish to find people who can teach us better ways. We wish to be eternally present in everything that we do. This creates quality in the smallest activities and builds up great things in gradual increments.
Caution prevents attack, accident, or illness. Through monitoring our emotional states, we can stop destructive tangents before they gather negative energy.
3. Commitment and Determination:
If one is sincere, then one commits to a goal with energy and enthusiasm. We always have time for things that are important to us, and the ways in which we spend our days reveal what the agenda really is. When we are bound for success, nothing can distract us from our vision.
4. Perseverance and Patience:
This is one of the most important developers of power on the list. The consistent effort in a daily rhythm of action creates a reservoir of strength and confidence. Many times we must wait for the correct time as we daily meditate, repeatedly strive for improvement, and practice small skills that will one day become great skills. The rhythmic journey of sticking to the plan creates a momentum that becomes unstoppable.

5. Honesty:
The Spirit of Truth is closely involved in this one. It begins with a vow to serve the Spirit of Truth and Wisdom, and then many adventures begin as a consequence. We are tested to see whether we have a price line which ends our honesty. We receive back what we give out. We learn that honesty should not be used as a weapon.
6. Discipline and Integrity:
This is nearly effortless if the ideal we are working towards is clear and alive in our hearts. The energy to carry out what is promised creates a special aura in a person. We can invoke rededication every day in order to make the behavior easy; ask the Spirit of Truth to energize the archetype of your inspiration. Enthusiasm sustains our bodies so that they do not have room for doubt or complaint. There is no Me in Success; there is no I in Teamwork.
7. Humility:
When one feels treasured and loved, one has no need to validate oneself through recognition or promotion. We achieve this by relying on the Eternal Presence of Divine Love. High social positions invite envy as well as create opportunities. When we receive them with a universal perspective, we are unimpressed with their glamour and can efficiently use their practical worth.
8. Kindness:
The journey of the Soul passes through this gate. Kindness comes for us and through us, and always redeems the giver and the receiver. The world has no greater hope than this. When we face the Great Angel at the end of each earthly life, this is the measure by which we are blessed or burdened.

9. Developing Talents:
Each lifetime, we are blessed with a handful of gifts. We are observed to see how we use them. If we abuse them, we are prevented from expressing them. We perfect them by practicing determination patience, and persistence. We take no smugness in them when we understand that they can be removed at any moment. Intelligence, artistic ability, scientific and mathematical facility, beauty, charm, the knack to command others—these will all be ours in the end of our long journey. We may enjoy what we have and share as our capacity to love others allows.
10. Pursuing Interests:
Focus on one interest or skill at a time, and the universe will lead you through exotic and wonderful moments. This path of development leads to inner and outer revelations of weakness and possibility for greatness. When we pray each day for God to lead us through every step to success, we gain valuable techniques and perceptions, no matter what happens.
MY PHYSICAL BODY AS A GUIDE
11. Energy and Health:
A constant puzzle to solve, we must daily strive to increase body vitality through physical activity, nourishment, meditation, releasing negativity, and gathering aids to this purpose.
One cannot expect to abuse the body every day in the same way and expect the poor thing to perform with youthful enthusiasm. Respect of the body and its needs is a primary imperative for each of us. Learn its unique needs for adjustment, harmony, renewal, and healing. This creates inner and outer opportunities and abilities.
12. Fearlessness and Stoicism:
One of the most effective barriers to success is emotional resistance. Fear and resistance attract the object of their focus. They impede the astral body. They generate living entities of negative energy.
On the other hand, meeting a challenge with logic and heroism, humor and willingness to serve will generate quantum leaps of opportunity, self-knowledge, confidence, and transformation.
