Watch these videos. They have some great instruction on the skills we learned at the clinic: Cutting - Handler Cuts - Dump Swing - Catching - Throwing forehand
Wednesday 5-7pm (9/21) is our first practice @Park Village Park. Practices will be Wed & Fri. We will also contact each of you about the results of tryouts starting after our first practice. Practices will be every Wed & Fri.
Parents meeting 7-7:30 Wed 9/21 in the pavilion @Park Village Park right after our first practice. Please invite your parents.
❗IMPORTANT❗ Players need to be officially rostered before you can play in games or tournaments. With our first tournament coming up on Saturday, we need to get this done pronto. This means you need to create a usaultimate.org account at https://play.usaultimate.org/members/login/, pay for your membership, and check off the waiver. You need to turn in your medical authorization form to the coach as well. If you complete the questionnaire I sent out earlier, it will walk you through this process. I have added a question about practice schedule - so if you've already answered the questions, you may want to go back and answer that one. At tryouts I was asked about Fridays - can we hold practice earlier? So I want to get some feedback on that.
Remember to throw regularly, especially flicks, (and record your throws in the spreadsheet for fall 3000). It will make a BIG difference in your game.
There is opportunity for additional practice in the community. It's called pickup - a handfull of people just show up to play ultimate. It's fun and good practice. I recommend Tuesday Murray/Taylorsville pickup (6:30pm). There's also Thursday Sugarhouse pickup, and pickup in many locations on Saturday, including Sugarhouse Park. Saturday Sugarhouse pickup runs through the winter. I go to pickup often - if you want to ride along let me know.
