Thanks to everyone who made senior night yesterday a great event. Special thanks to Garrett for arranging the stadium for us.
Seniors, best of luck in your future endeavors - college, mission, work, and of course, ultimate! Don't be a stranger - you are more than welcome to come back to CHHS ultimate any time to help coach or just to play. Come back to play some ultimate and help strengthen the program!
Everyone - take a week off now that the season is officially over. You've earned it. In the meantime, please invite your friends to come play ultimate with us in the summer. Click here to view & print fliers for summer ultimate. Also in the meantime, make plans to get in a LOT of ultimate this summer. Register for summer league, go to swarm tryouts, put pickup on your calendar, etc. CH summer pickup starts next Thu, 5/30@5p. After that, it will be every Thu & Sat @ 9a. I'll probably go play pickup this Saturday somewhere though. If you're interested, lmk.
Summer 3000 Challenge has officially begun. The survey said that most of you want to complete a summer 3000 challenge. Complete the challenge before school starts in the fall to receive some sweet swag (discs, jerseys, cones, earphones, etc) and seriously improve your game! There are 2 options for the challenge:
3000 throw challenge: You must record your throws each day. No guessing. This will really improve your throwing skill! It should take about 10-15 hours total (not too tough, right?).
speed challenge: Complete all of the following: 1) 1500 calf raises 2) 1500 squats 3) run 50 miles 4) run 50 ladders. This will increase your speed & stamina. It should take about 15-20 hours total.
Complete both challenges to get more awesome AND get double swag! It's about 25-35 hours total to complete both challenges. This is very doable! But you need to be disciplined. Do it for yourself AND for your team!
If you can't complete both challenges, here is my recommendation: All players who played on the CHUMS team this year should complete the throwing challenge - except Quinn, Mason, and Sasuke. Quinn, Mason, and Sasuke should complete the speed challenge. All players who played on the HS teams this year should complete the speed challenge - except Bryson and Katrina. You should complete the throwing challenge. Of course, I hope that you go for both!
We are going to add a team aspect to this challenge: if the team total exceeds the total it would take for 10 players to reach their goal, we will plan a team activity - something like mountain disc golf at Solitude, a team party, etc. So, for example, if the team has 18000 throws, that is the equivalent of 8 players reaching their goal, right? If we also as a team have 3000 calf raises, 3000 squats, 100 miles, and 100 ladders, that is the equivalent of 2 players achieving the speed challenge. So that would be the equivalent of 10 players accomplishing the challenge, so we win - as a team! We will have some awesome team activity. Be thinking of what you want to do.
According to the survey, Thursday morning is the best time for summer pickup:
Survey said that nearly everyone wants to complete a summer 3000 challenge:
