Registration
There are still a number of players who need to complete registrations. I'm going to sound like a broken record until everyone is registered, so do me a favor and get it done so I can stop bugging you ;-) . Thanks to Tricia, Bryson, Maddie, Lydia, Katrina, Zander, Quinn, Garrett, Cassie, Sydney, Sasuke, Ian S, Jack, Caden, Harrison, Meagan, Charlie, Max, Dallin and Vince who have already registered. Everyone else, please take care of yours ASAP!

Upcoming Events
*Note that CHUMS & CHA games this week are both in Utah County.
*I will not be available for any of the games this week - we have an important appointment. Coaches & parents, who can help drive and chaperone the games?
9/12 4:30p Th CHA vs Maeser. Pilgrim's Landing Park.
9/12 4p Th CHB vs Judge. SL Co Equestrian Park.
9/12 4p Th CHUMS vs LPA. Timberline Middle School.
Someone please verify that I got this game info correct (http://utahultimate.org)
9/14 9a Sa Free clinic. Hosted by UUDA, for all players, HS, MS, beginner, advanced. No cost for players registered for league. Galena Hills, 12500 S 550 W, Draper. This clinic will take the place of our Saturday practice. See more details in the email text below.
9/16 5p Mo (tentative) CH vs JHS scrimmage. This will replace our practice for today.
9/21 Krakens Tournament. We have a bid for *two* teams in this tournament. We need to work hard to get our girls to this tournament. Playing without subs works for a single league game, but it doesn't work for a tournament. We need to have subs.
Please go to http://player.ultimatechills.club and indicate whether you will be at the game or not so we can ensure we will have enough players.

League Games Results
Congrats to all 3 teams for winning your Thursday games. That's pretty awesome. I think this might be the first time CH Ultimate has ever had all of our teams win all games in the same week. Big accomplishment. Congrats!
Also, CHB is at the top of the standings! https://utahultimate.org/e/youth-fall-league-2019/standings . For now. Pretty cool. ;-) Keep up the good work - there are some really, really tough games coming up!
Parents - I need your help!
I appreciate those parents who are helping out. I could use more help. Please let me know if you can help with any of the following:
1st priority: Help your player to complete their registration & come to the games to support the team.
Chaperones: we are required to have a background-checked, trained (online training that takes a few hours) adult at every practice & game. We're supposed to have a separate chaperone for each of our teams. Let me know if you can do the background check and the training so that you can chaperone some of our games and/or practices (not every game/practice, of course. If you can make it to a handful of them during the season it's a big help!)
Team dinner. Traditionally we have a carb-loading dinner the day before the state tournament (11/7 this season). Looking for a parent to organize the dinner.
Team management (helping track paperwork, rostering, etc).
Uniform orders.
Drivers & driver coordination.
Recruiting - we have a lot of boys and not so many girls. In order for everyone to get the right amount of game time in a mixed league, we need more of a balance. If you know any girls who might be interested, please invite them.
3v3 Results October 3v3 + Jordan HS scrimmage
Congrats to the Griffindor team (Hayden, Sasuke, Harrison) from today's 3v3 tournament - winning a close one over the Oompa-loompas (Lydia, Mason, Jared). A great tournament everyone! Thanks to all who attended. It was well-attended with 8 teams.
We will be doing this again on Oct 12, the weekend starting fall break. Hopefully not too many of you will be out of town. I have invited players from Jordan, Riverton, Judge and Skyline. I'll be inviting Bingham as well. Should be a lot of fun!
We'll be setting up a scrimmage with Jordan HS, tentatively it will replace our practice on Mon, 9/16. They are not in league play because they did not have enough girls, so it will be a 5:2 or 6:1 format.

UniformsI am investigating a couple of different options. Parents, let me know if you can take over uniform orders. That would be a big burden off me, and they would be done in a more timely manner than when I do them ;-). I would really appreciate it.
In the meantime, players, please add your name to this signup sheet if you want to order a uniform: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NyIBIqZmVFegm79A7RxRlOewB2BbcmArIf9NuEiYOR4/edit?usp=sharing

Subject: Player and coach training
Hello friends!
We here at Utah Ultimate are excited to let you know about some important training opportunities. We're also asking you to let us know when you want to be contacted by us.
First, we are offering three Learn to Play clinics for middle school and high players in September/October:
Sep 7 (this Saturday), 9:00-11:30, Utah County, Maeser Preparatory Academy 320 West 600 South, Lindon, UT
September 14, 9:00-11:00, Galena Hills, 12500 South 550 West, Draper
October 12, 5:00-7:00, Legacy Events Center (Farmington)
We encourage you to invite the players on your teams and their friends. These sessions will be fun and instructional! Here is a flyer you can hand out at your schools or recreational centers if you want to help get more people in your area to learn the game.
Secondly, we had a very successful coaches clinic with Bryce Merrill, head coach of BYU CHI men's team, and Elevate, Utah's premier women's club team. We're bringing Bryce back for two more coaching clinics:
Offense: Vert, horizontal and side stack; resets, cutting, and strategy.
Sep 23 5:30 - 7:30 Smith Fields Park, 13400 S. 200 E, Draper
Come learn how to teach the three main offensive plays used in modern ultimate. You'll learn basics drills for teaching players to cut and reset in each of theses offensive schemes.
Zone defense, and so can you!,
Sep 30 5:30 - 7:30 Smith Fields Park, 13400 S. 200 E, Draper
Learn several zone defenses (e.g. junk, diamond, clam) which can be used to surprise opponents and disrupt offensive flow. We will talk about how to break down these defenses and teach players how to play the various roles in each. You'll learn how to teach players to talk from the sideline and decide when each defense should be used.
We're excited about the Learn to Play clinics for high school and middle school players and the coaching clinics to help improve our coaching!
