Congrats on some great games last week!!! CHMS over Krakens X 13-5, CHA over Judge 13-5, and a heartbreaking CHB loss to Lehi on universe point, 9-8
A win over Lone Peak is a BIG deal! A lot of you are new to competitive ultimate, and don't realize how significant this is. Lone Peak has been completely dominated Utah ultimate since I've been coaching ( it's my 6th year). Their HS boys have won 3 of 5 and their HS girls have won all 5 of the last state championships. Their LP MS teams have only lost to one team during that time (until this week ;-) ). Oak Canyon MS 2 years ago had a team that was 90% 8th graders and they beat LP a couple of times that season, although LP still won the MS state tournament. Oak Canyon players all moved on to high school and they no longer have a middle school team. This is a huge deal. Congrats CHUMS!

Practices Mo 9/24 & Tu 9/25 @ 5p, Sa 9/29 @ 8:30a. Practices are very important right now for new players to get the fundamentals down and experienced players to learn to play as a team. We'll see you there! This week at practice we'll be working on:
All: 3v3 to continue to develop fundamentals of throwing, catching and cutting with lots of touches.
All: Running drill to increase stamina and speed.
New players: More H-stack practice, more zone D, introduce Vert Stack.
Returning players: Zone, Zone breaker, dumps and swings
4-man marking drill: this is a variation on the 3-man marking drill that we are going to use to help us to learn to swing the disc!
All: Full field game to put into practice what we learn about h-stack, vert-stack, zone & zone breaker.
Captains: Please ask me to take some time to show you how to enter game scores. You will need to do this for every game and tournament.
Everyone should spend some time each week outside of practice working throwing and running (ladders or distance). We don't have enough time in practice to adequately improve these skills!
Some players get together at school to throw a disc during breaks and whatnot, please talk to your fellow players if you want to join them!
