CHUMS game TOMORROW, Fri, March 22 5pm @ Park Village Park vs LPY
Middle School players and parents: I apologize. I almost forgot that I had scheduled a couple of out of league games this season and I got a reminder today that one of those games is tomorrow! The good news is that Lone Peak is coming to our fields to play us at 5pm. So we were going to be there anyway for practice. Just come a little early tomorrow. Try to be there no later than 4:40 We will play the game in the lower bowl and allow the HS to practice on the upper field.
HS & MS: please do not park along the small parking pull out on the south side of PVP tomorrow. Let's leave those parking spots for the Lone Peak team. Park along the side streets in the neighborhood.
UUDA HS Girls Tournament Next Saturday Mar 31, Farmington
https://utahultimate.org/e/high-school-girls-spring-tournament-2019
Time & schedule TBA, but I would plan on 9:30-2ish. Tentatively let's plan on meeting at 8am at Park Village Park to carpool. We will be combined with Jordan and Judge. I'm still looking for a solid count of girls who will be attending this tournament. Currently, Lydia, Tricia, Maddie and Cassie (and Sydnee?) have said they are going. I would like to hear from the rest of you. MS Girls: I strongly encourage to come play with the HS girls team! They could use your help and you could use the experience. Boys and MS: You are encouraged to come support the girls at the tournament and do some throwing while you are watching the girls games. You are welcome to carpool to the tournament with the girls team if there are enough seats. If you are not going to the tournament, please have practice as usual at PVP@9am on this day. I will not be at practice because I will be at the tournament.
Practices as usual this coming week - Fr, Mo, Tu@5p, Sa@9a, Park Village Park
We will be choosing team captains this weekend. If all goes well, they will be announced at practice Saturday.
We are going to work on throwing to space, cutting to space, and review the fundamental principles of cutting, including: 1) sharp changes of direction 2) see the open spaces and cut to them 3) take what the defense gives you 4) make it easy for the thrower to get you the disc 5) Don't be afraid to cut in close to the disc, but then immediately clear the critical space - the space within 15 yards of the disc. Don't hang out in there 6) Always watch for the disc 7) Don't stand in the same place for more than a couple seconds 8) Explode into your cuts
Games Thursday, Mar 28, All Teams
Boys vs Lone Peak B: 4pm @ SLCo Equestrian Park
CHUMS vs Lone Peak A: 5:30pm, location TBA. Next 2 games will be the biggest challenges of the season! LPY on Friday, then LPA on Thursday. Prepare yourselves for a tough game!
Girls are scheduled for a Judge vs West Jordan game. I am going to propose to the other teams that we meet at the Equestrian Park and have a combined practice & scrimmage.
