I am ordering uniforms this week. I would like to be ready to place the order after practice Wednesday. In order to do so, I need payments by Wednesday’s practice. The cost will be the same as last year: $35 (or $30 without name/number). You can get the payment to me via paypal (rickywx@gmail.com) or bring cash or check (made out to me) to practice or to my house (7898 Goslin Ct - 4730w). Medical Forms. I still need medical forms from some of you. Please bring them to practice Wed.
Tuesday pickup (7pm) has been moved from Taylorsville to Southwood Park in Murray where the field has lights, so we can play even after dark. Pickup is optional, but it’s a good way to get some extra practice and have some fun at the same time. I encourage you to join the facebook groups (also here) to be updated on pickup days & times. Thursday pickup 6:30p and Saturday pickup 11a at Sugarhouse Park. With school out Wednesday, you can play lunchtime pickup at Riverside Park 11:45-1. Text the group to carpool to pickup games. I’m planning on going Tuesday, and I would go Thursday if anyone else wanted to go. I can’t make Wednesday lunchtime I have an appointment :(.
Practice Wed & Thu 5-7. Note that we'll practice Thursday instead of Friday this week because homecoming. There was discussion about starting earlier Wed (like 4pm?) because there’s no school. You could play a game 4-5, then practice and then scrimmage again at the end of practice. Feel free to set that up via the remind group. I’ll try to make it if I can.
Warmup with 3 man marking drill, then plyos, pivots, shuffles
Wed focus: 1) swings & continuation. Drill (8ppl): swing it off the sideline to mid handler then immediately to break side with a continuation pass to the cold cutter. 1x without a mark, then 1x with only a mark on the 1st handler, then with all D. O can replay up to 5x if they don’t turn. Switch on a turn. 2) cutting and throwing to space. Drill: the X cross drill without D short then long, then with D, mixup short and long. 3) Scrimmage special rules: score a point for each break in addition to regular scores. This should really encourage everyone to try to swing on O and hold the force on D.
Fri focus: Zone D
Huddle & cool down with squats, toe raises, crunches
Film night. We are looking at a film night right after practice either Wed or Fri. This is an optional event. Text me and tell me which day you want to do it.
Saturday conditioning is on this week at 8am at Park Village Park.
