Swarm / YCC (Youth Club Championships) Tryouts
For players who want to take it to the next level, Swarm is kind of an All-Star Utah combined youth team that has a few practices during the summer and will participate in the Youth Quake SLC 2018 tournament with some out of state teams, as well as the National Tournament in Blaine, MN Aug 4-6. Tryouts are coming up at the end of May. There are divisions for U20 (Under 20), U17, and U15. I recommend going to the tryouts even if you don't or are not sure if you want to play with Swarm. The tryouts are a great experience and introduction to high-level ultimate beyond high school.

*Note that effort was made to start the tournament later Friday, but they were unable to make that happen due to number of teams and field availablility. The D2 state tournament was originally scheduled for the previous week, 5/11-12, but had to be moved due to some field scheduling issues
Tournament Volunteers
Each team has been tasked with providing a volunteer to help with each tournament. Family members, friends, or anyone, please let me know if you can help out with either of the tournaments. The work is simple: setting up or taking down fields, manning the frisbee central tent, etc.

5/17 5pm Team Dinner
Families are invited. We usually just have a carb loading pasta potluck event. This will be held in the Thane & Tate's backyard at 8264 Sunny Vista Lane. This event is for *ALL* players, HS and MS. A *big* thank you to Deann, Thane & Tate's Mom, for taking this on. And thanks to those who are helping out with this event. Please bring a pasta or side or dessert, and come to relax and have fun with the team before the big weekend.
Practice will continue as usual, Mo, Tu, We at 3:30. We will have a light practice and strategy session Th 5/17 at 3:30 before the team dinner. No more Saturday practices - go to the tournaments and support our teams.
Congratulations on a hard-fought season, Middle School!
Our middle school team finished 10th place in a tough, rainy state tournament. Thanks to Dan from Riverton for joining us! The Liberty Park Squirrels team that we barely lost to (7-6) on Saturday morning made it to the championship game against Lone Peak X. So we actually weren't far from playing in the championship game. In fact our games today were really close (7-6L, 8-4W, 7-5L). Well done, middle school! Results are here: https://play.usaultimate.org/events/2018-Utah-Middle-School-State-Championships/schedule/mixed/Middle-School-Mixed/ Good job everyone!
We will continue to play throughout the summer. Keep an eye on this news page and watch your messages for days & times we will be playing. A lot of players take the summer off or take it easy during the summer. But this is your chance to really step up, improve your game, and gain an advantage over others. There will be league games and other opportunities to play in addition to our practices. We will also begin our 5000 throw challenge the day after HS states on May 20.
Returning Middle school and High School players - fill out our 2018 summer survey: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FabFnajM6snpFt_JIFJhUreqbHVjqEpNFOZBoFBMFFA . Seniors: We would love to have your help next year with coaching, etc. Please consider it if you will still be around!
Thanks to everyone who attended the Daweena Tournament last weekend. We played a lot of ultimate and it was a tough, tough tournament. Congratulations to our seniors who were re
congnized on Senior Day Saturday. We wish them all the best during these final 2 weeks of the season and as they move on.
We have come to the end of the season. This week is the last week of league. This weekend is the Middle school state tournament. Next weekend is High school state. The season is not over yet. It's time to give it everything for this year's final games and tournaments.
