Practice Times have changed: Our weekday practice times have been moved from 5:30pm to 3:30pm. Practice days remain the same (Mon, Tue, Wed). Saturday practices will not change (still Saturday mornings at 9:30). Tuesday practices will be an extended practice (3:30-6:30) to accommodate some players who can't make the earlier times:
This Week's Games (all games Thursday):
CHG v Bingham, SL Equestrian Park Field 4, 4pm.
CHMS v Break Force, Riverside Field 1, 4pm.
CHB v Alta, SL Equestrian Park Field 5, 4pm.
CHA v Timpview A, SL Equestrian Park Field 2, 5:40pm.
Parents! I need your help. Note that MS is at Riverside Park (700n 1400w) while HS is at the equestrian park (11400s 2100w). Please let everyone know which games you will be at and if you can drive so we can ensure we have enough transportation in the scoring spreadsheet here. I've added a section for parents if you scroll to the bottom. Indicate which location you are going to, and how many seats you have available. Thanks!
Players, please also indicate in the scoring spreadsheet here or in the groupme event (we'll create one shortly) whether or not you are going so we can ensure there will be enough players.
Note that the Thursday forecast is rain, so there is a possibility of cancellation again. I'll let you know as soon as I know. For now, plan on playing! Remember to bring both a dark shirt and a white shirt.
Tournaments:
This weekend's Logan tournament has been postponed due to field conditions. Instead, we will have practice as usual on Saturday at 9:30. The tournament has been postponed until Apr 14 for girls, and Apr 28 for boys. We need to know who wants to go and who is able to go, so please update the schedule spreadsheet. I will also send out a poll question on groupme. On April 14, our boys will be playing a mini-tournament with Jordan and Maeser. I am looking at getting a combined Jordan / CH team to take to Logan on 4/14.
Details about the Lone Peak Invitational (LPI) tournament 4/21-22 have been posted (click here). All 3 of our high school teams have been accepted to the tournament.
YCC U17 / All Star Team
I received this email about a Youth Club Championship combined team, and encourage any of you who are interested to find out more. Let me know if you are interested and I'll make sure you get info about this team:
Hello coaches.
Utah is gaining prominence on the national Ultimate Frisbee scene. The #1 ranked girls team in the country is from Utah (Lone Peak) and the #3 and #20 ranked boys teams in the country are also from Utah (Lone Peak and Green Canyon).
For the past several years, the state has put together an "all star team," made up of some of the best players under 20 in Utah to complete in the most important national tournament during the summer (YCC in Minnesota). In the fall, Utah had an Under 15 team (U15) team which took second against teams like Oregon, California and Idaho in a tournament in Washington.
This year, Utah will be putting together a boys and a girls YCC U17 team and will play in at least one tournament. There will be travel involved for between 1 and 3 tournaments. Tryouts will likely be in
April.
To qualify, you must be younger than 17 as of December 31, 2018.
Part of the tournaments will be on Sunday, but there will also be a limited number of slots for players who are unable to play on Sundays.
If you are potentially interested in playing on this team, please fill out the form. We will be having a meeting in the next couple of weeks to discuss more.
