The subject of my images is hands. The setting is in my house. This image was made by me asking my dad to hold a dead rose. Materials I utilized is simply hands a dying rose. I chose to create this specific image because I wanted to have a theme of overworking death. Elements I used in this was the way I composed it. Composition rules of this photo is informal balance and selective focus. Informal balance because everything isn't perfectly centered and selective focus because I used color selection in this photo. My project evolved by me bringing it to photoshop, spending a bunch of time figuring out what I should actually do with the image and then finally editing the parts I wanted to for these photos. The meaning behind this image is to show overworked death, yes, it sounds dark but there's a story to it and that story consists of showing how hard my dad works with his hands because he is a contractor and then you notice that he is holding this rose that is near death. Men in my family have always worked their hardest and won't stop until they're on the verge of "dying" in a way. This project relates to my life because in certain situations, I work myself so hard that I end up like this rose, damaged and fighting for life in a way. One thing I would change about the first image is how clear it is, and as for the second image, I wouldn't change a thing because, in my opinion, it's beautiful.
