Carve and Ink

Title: Bama in Alabama

Date: 5.11.18

Artist statement:

For this project I had to find and image and carve it out and then use ink to print it onto paper. I chose to do my dog Bama because she's black and white and I thought she'd be a challenge to carve. I think by far my most favorite print is the one of her printed on the state she's from, Alabama. Something strong about all the prints is that they're all solid black and there's no real mess ups on any of the prints. The story behind this image is my dog was standing in front of me because she wanted the food I had. This relates to my life because I will always be asked if I want food and i'll say no and then the food will be made and then I will want it. Something I would change about all these prints is the part of her mouth where her whisker parts are, I think I made the dots a little to big.
