Title: Unique fish

Artist Statement:
For this project we had to make something out of a scribble or a line. I chose to do a fish because when I looked at the black line and that's what I saw in it. This piece of artwork was made with simply just markers. My project evolved by me making a line into something, like a fish. The meaning behind my artwork is it shows just a fish, no water around it or anything. I solely wanted this to be focused on just the fish and make the person looking at this wonder what this fish story is. The story behind this image is to show a fish and he's all alone, not even in the water. I tried to show how he was an outcast because of his so like "hair" and his lips are big. This drawing connects to my life because I am an outcast in a way and I don't have a lot of friends; I am unique. I am most proudest of the shape of how the fish came out because I didn't think it would come out that great for my first assignment. I struggled mostly on the lips, trying to make them look more natural but that didn't really happen. Also another struggle would be the color blending on the fish body. Something that could make this piece of work stronger is adding water around him and texture in the water to kind of show where he lives.
