multi-media drawing

Artist Statement:

For this project we had to take a photo of something and bring it in and draw it using charcoal, pencil, and ink all together. I chose this image to draw because I was seeking a challenge. I definitely got that. Some things I struggled with on this was the face and the background. Also I struggled with the determination to do it because usually if something is challenging I just give up. The material I think I used most was charcoal out of the 3 we had to use because it blends well and it fit places where I couldn't just put straight pencil or ink. The story behind this image/ drawing is to show someone I love, in a place I love; the outdoors. One thing I would change about this photo would be the way the face came out because it's kind of rushed and doesn't look how it could to its full potential.
