Complimentary Color

Title: Hands de Clay

The subject of my image is hands. The setting is in the light room. This image was made by me painting someone's hands, using my sweatshirt as a background, and taking a photo. I was going to do just one hand off balanced at first but I thought two would make the image stronger, so I went with two. I chose to create this specific image because I thought it would be the best representation of complimentary colors. Composition rules of this photo are informal balance and close distance. Informal balance plays in because the hands are not centered and close distance plays in because I got close to the hands to take the photo. This project evolved by me bringing it to photoshop, cropping it, clone stamping some more color to the hands, clone stamping the background to make it look as one, and messing with the saturation completely. I changed the color from yellow to green, and I personally think green looks better. The meaning behind this image is to show hands in an irregular form, hippie ish really is what I was going for. The story is that it represents a group of people, and they do what they like within their group. This relates to my life because I am my own self. I pursue myself how I want others to see me, I'm unique. If I could change one thing about this image it would be the bottom of the hands because I wanted them painted also and I tried clone stamping color but it simply failed.
