Film Relationships

Busy bee

May 25, 2017

For this project I had to do something with the subject relationships. Now at first I had no idea what to do but then I got to thinking. I chose to do a bee and its flower because I think it is a strong relationship. I created this photo by going to the peace garden at school, finding a bee and some pretty flowers it was next to. Then once I took the photo and got back inside, I decided to look at the photos I had taken and then I saw the bee had come out blurry so what I did then was I brought it to photoshop, took an old photo that I had of a bee, that was clear, and I replaced it with the fuzzy one and it made the image much stronger. Then I decided to do a cyanotype because I hadn't done one yet and I knew it would look good with this specific image. I went through the whole process, let it dry, and it came out like you see above. Some composition rules of this photo are high key lighting and selective focus. High key lighting is shown because everything is so bright and sharp focus is because everything is in focus in the photo. The story behind this image is to show a bee and its relationship with a flower; pollinating the flower to keep it nice and healthy and also to keep the bee doing its job and making what it needs to make. This relates to my life because I have a relationship with most things I do. Like my morning routine. Something I would change about this photo is the leaves in it because personally, I don't like them.
