One Point Perspective

The assignment was to draw a room in one point perspective. It had to include different elements such as two chairs, a sofa, ceiling beams, etc. I started by drawing an x , connecting opposite corners. I marked the spot where the two lines intersected, this is known as the vanishing point. Next, I drew a rectangle around that x, erasing the part of the x that was inside the box. I started with the flooring, making marks 1 cm apart. I connected all these marks to the vanishing point which created a wood flooring pattern. Knowing I had to creat tile, I lined up my ruler with the bottom right corner of the page and bottom left corner of the rectangle. Then I made a mark every time the ruler intersected with the lines. I then made horizontal lines from those marks. Every time I made a piece of furniture I made two vertical lines. To get the other two sides I connected the vertical lines to the vanishing point. After having all the requirements in my drawing I went back in and started to color. I didn't really have a plan when drawing this room. I now picture it as a dinning room with a lot of windows.
