For this project we each had to create a square tile which will eventually be arranged for our new school. We were given a specific color palette. We had to choose a location in Freeport, Durham, or Pownal and sketch out an aerial view. I chose Wolfe's Neck Park. For the "water" I started blending purple and blue to create this stippling effect but I didn't like that so I changed the color to light blue. I then painted the top piece of the land light yellow and then used a dark purple for the rest of the space. I chose a dark color to contrast with the light. And then I painted yellow patches on the purple pieces because we had to have a touch of yellow in our painting for all the tiles to be cohesive. To the "water" I added a square pattern, which took forever. Since the background was busy I left the "land" solid colors. If I were to do this project over again I would chose a more interesting aerial view.
