"Self-Portrait" "Welcome"
For my time capsule drawings I started out by using light pencil to trace where I wanted my lines to fall. For the self-portrait I focused on the features of my face, deliberately not adding shading. This was the hardest out of the four because as you drew, your head moved, changing the drawing. For the hand drawing, it was difficult to create depth, as naturally I want to draw my fingers all the same size, while really the fingers closest should be biggest and the ones farther away should be smaller. The one point perspective was my favorite to draw as it’s very mathematical and precise. I drew my entry way and named the piece “welcome”. For my last time capsule drawing I had to draw an object I relied on regularly. I chose to draw an eyelash curler. This is an item I use almost every day but probably not my most relied on object. I drew it because as a female I’m taught to want to use it. I outlined all these drawings with a fine pen to create a “clean” look and to contrast against the white paper. Also when I look back on these drawings I will be able to look at my line placement and see my improvement. It’s hard to say what I would do better next time as these are time capsule drawings meant to capture your growth. So I’m going to say I’m happy with my work for this assignment.
