Beautiful Oops

For this assignment we got handed a piece of white paper with a black ink drop or drops on it. Our job was to create something out of this "mistake." The piece could we representational or abstract.

I got a simple dot almost in the center of the page. I knew immediately I wanted to create a mandala from this circle. I began to add color and lines to create patterns in a circular shape. When I had almost filled the page I stopped. Normally when I create pieces like this I completely fill the paper. I wanted to do something different and add some contrast. I decided to color the upper right hand corner and some of the right side black.
