In the United Kingdom, they are expecting their new prime minister, Rishi Sunak, after their original prime minister, Liz Truss, resigned on October 20th after being in office for only 45 days.
Rishi will not only be their new prime minister but also the first person of color to work in office for Great Britain as well. Rishi won the role of prime minister after his opponent, Penny Mordaunt, dropped out of the race only moments before the votes from the members of Parliament were to be announced. Well of course Rishi doesn’t get to become prime minister straight away; he has to meet with King Charles III, then within the upcoming days the king will officially appoint him as the new prime minister for Great Britain.
As the UK's new prime minister, they expect him to do a few things to keep the UK running; for instance they would like for Rishi to keep the UK’s newly installed Finance Minister, Jeremy Hunt, but some have already started to question if he has the ability to reunite the splintered Conservation Party, considering the downfall of Boris Johnson. Johnson was ousted from the office since he was affiliated with a scandal three months ago. It is also said that he is going to fix the mess of the old prime minister Penny Mordaunt, after she failed to experiment in trickle-down economics, which made the markets rattle and badly hurt the UK’s reputation.
