After the passing of the Queen on September 8th, there was held a memorial service for her, but fans and people of the United Kingdom people were questioning why Prince Harry wasn’t wearing his military uniform during the memorial service unlike his father and brother. Many people that watched the event live and in person noticed that he was one of three of the royal family who served as active military who wasn't wearing his uniform, apart from his brother Prince William and his father King Charles III. The reason behind why he wasn't wearing his uniform is because Prince Harry stepped down from his royal duties back in the year of 2020, so due to him stepping down from his royal duties he wasn’t allowed to wear his military uniform since he is classified as a non-working member of the royal family. Even though the prince served for 10 years in the active military service, he still wasn't able to wear the uniform, so instead of the uniform, he decided to wear a nice suit and put his medals that he earned on that.
Prince Harry’s spokesperson also spoke out about about the uniform. They stated, “Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, will wear a morning suit throughout events honoring his grandmother,” and in a interview with E! News his spokesperson also stated that, “His decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears, and we respectfully ask that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.” From seeing the information and reading about it, I can tell that Prince Harry wasn't upset about not being able to wear his military uniform since the morning suit that he wore was just as great of his military uniform, but he mostly just wanted to show respect for his grandmother and the Queen on the day of her memorial service.
