Friday the 13th

It's October and with Halloween right around the corner, people are starting to get their costumes ready, getting their candy ready, and last but surely not least, they're getting their popcorn and putting on their favorite Halloween movies. During October one of my favorite Halloween movies to watch is Friday the 13th. Friday the 13th is a slasher horror film that was produced and directed by Sean Cunningham and was written by Victor Miller during the 1980s. Friday the 13th is a horror movies about a group of teenage counselors who gets murdered one by one by an unknown killer. These teens were killed while attempting to re-open a summer camp that had been abandoned for years.
This movie took place in 1958 on Friday, June 13th when a young woman with the name of Anna Philips entered a small diner and asked for directions to a summer camp called Camp Crystal Lake, but when she asked this question, she left the patrons and staff of the diner in shock.Someone in the diner overheard her ask and agreed to give Annie a ride to the crossroads cemetery, but the cemetery is only halfway to the camp. But when they were leaving the diner they were stopped by a guy named Crazy Ralph, and he approaches Annie and the truck driver. He says, “You’re going to blood camp ain’t ya?”The truck driver and Annie ignored Ralph. Ralph didn't just stop there, but he also started telling Annie the stories about all the danger that took place at the camp, but Annie being Annie she just ignored him. Annie and the truck driver,Enos, start driving and during the drive Enos also keeps warning her about the really bad danger at “Camp Blood,” and he also keeps telling her she should quit her job at the camp because of how dangerous it is.Some of the dangers he tells her about include the little boy that had drowned in 1957,the two murders that happened there, and the serial arson which is the reason why the camp is considered cursed. But she ignores him anyway, and they get to the cemetery and then he dropped her off so Annie decided to start hiking.
In another car we meet two guys named Ned and Jack, and we also meet a girl named Marcie, Jack and Marcie are a couple and Ned is really jealous of them being a couple. When they get to the camp they all end up introducing themselves to everyone else.
Back to Annie: she ended up hitching a ride to the camp. The driver asked Annie if she needed a ride, but when Annie talks to the driver, the driver doesn't respond and is suspiciously quiet. During the ride the driver speeds up the car and Annie gets so scared that she jumps out of the moving car. The driver continues to follow the injured girl and when he catches up to her he kills her. Friday the 13th is a very good movie and if you wanna hear the rest of it you are going to have to watch the movies. But if you don't like horror movies,or if you don’t like movies with gruesome murders in it, then this movie is not for you! But if you do then this movie is one of the best movies to watch during the Halloween season.
The real story behind Friday the 13th
During the summer, two 15 year old teen girls took their two 18-year-old boyfriends on a camping trip together. The location they went to is an isolated area of a lake called Lake Bodom, where they decided to set tents up along the edge of the Lake. The next day a carpenter came across the campsite, so he decided to take a look in side of the tents, but what he saw is something he would have never expected. When he looked inside of the tent he saw three bodies lying there with stab wounds; three of them died, but one of the boys ended up surviving ,and his name was Nils Gustafsson. When the carpenter found him, he was alive but unconscious.Once the police arrived, Nils was awake and told the police that someone had broke into their tents during the early hours of the morning and attacked them. But with his severer injuries matching up with his story,Nils was cleared as a suspect for the murders. With the attack being so random that means the police don’t have that much stuff to go off of to find who did this. But one of strangest thing about this was Nils description of the attacker. He had claimed to see a man dressed in all black with all red eyes. This description of course didn't help the police with their investigation, and with most of the crime scene was ruined because people were rude and walked all over it.
At least the murders on Friday the 13th had their clear culprits, where the attacks in the 1960s had absolutely no suspects. One of the suspects was a local resident named Valdemar Gyllstrom. Valdemar was known to be very aggressive to the campers. But toward the end, the police had no evidence to show them that is was Valdemar, and his wife has told the police that he was in bed when the murders took place. But later down the line, he suffered mental health problems and he wrote a note nine years later confessing to the murders. The next suspect is Hans Assmann. He was a KGB spy who moved to Finland recently, but the cops let him go because he had told them that he was in Germany at the time of the murders, but there was evidence that placed him in Finland the morning of the murders. Then the final suspect is the only survivor of the murders. Nils Gustafsson was a victim himself, but he was accused in the year of 2004. After his blood was not found anywhere in the evidence, he ended up being let go later down the line. Even if these tragic murder events weren't taken as inspiration for these types of movies, they just show that even the creepiest, horror ,slasher stories could eventually happen in real life.
