County Band

County Band Auditions

Monday, October 24 2022 Central Cambria held auditions for the Cambria County Band.

The audition process was simple. First you signed in at the front doors and then you took your instrument and music to the auditorium to warm up. Although warming up was optional, everyone took advantage of the time and played a few notes on their instruments.

After every student attending was signed in, you were separated into groups based on your instrument and grade level, Junior high was grades 7-9 and senior high was grades 10-12. Since I’m a 9th grade trumpet player, I was in the Junior High trumpets holding room. In the holding room, you are not allowed to warm up in any shape or form.

When you are called by your advisor, you get an audition number and you turn in your music to prevent any extra practice. For wind players, it was blind auditions. They took Junior High trumpets 5 at a time. You would wait in the hallway while another student auditioned for the judges to hear.

County results will be out on October 26th, 2022.
