I am going to be talking about how schools should have free breakfast. Here in Northern Cambria we do have free breakfasts, but other schools don't so I'm going to talk about why they should.
Some kids wake up in the morning and don't have enough time to eat breakfast. Some kids come to school to get breakfast but forget to bring money. If schools would just give free breakfasts these kids wouldn't have this problem. They would also get so many more people to eat breakfast since it's free. I never got breakfast until we got them for free. Also studies show that when you eat breakfast, you are most likely to have a better day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Studies show that breakfast plays a big part in starting your day. “Breakfast is a great way to give the body the refueling it needs. Kids who eat breakfast tend to eat healthier overall and are more likely to be physically active — two great ways to help maintain a healthy weight.” If you don't eat breakfast you are most likely going to feel more tired and less energetic. If you don't eat breakfast, you should snack throughout the day so that you don't feel bad. It also shows that if you don't eat breakfast and only lunch you will go home and snack throughout the night and not eat a nice dinner. That would lead to not being healthy.
It could also be good for parents to give a good variety of foods for breakfast. Some kids will go into their kitchen and see things they wouldn't want to eat so then they go and don't eat breakfast. Having a good variety of foods would let kids eat breakfast.
If you would like to eat breakfast but you never have time to wake up 5-10 earlier, you can eat breakfast. When you eat breakfast you are more likely to pay more attention in school and be more awake. It doesn't have to be a big breakfast either. You could eat some fruit or some yogurt or cereal, or you can even make eggs, bacon, or toast.
If you are always sluggish or down, try eating breakfast and see if your day changes.
