The question often struck me during the day… “What is NC’s favorite cafeteria meal?” Obviously it wasn’t worded as awkwardly in my head, but I did question why we seldom see some meals and so often see others. From the survey–to probably no one’s surprise–popcorn chicken bowl took the crown as NC’s most beloved meal. I personally agree, their popcorn chicken bowl is an absolute delight. I can remember so vividly the day I had to review the popcorn chicken bowl (check out Cafeteria Reviews if you haven’t already). Take in mind, I have had the popcorn chicken bowl multiple times in the past. That day, however, I was absolutely famished. When I was able to really enjoy the meal in all of its splendors, I was knocked off my feet. The hot mashed potatoes, topped with melted cheese just seemed to dissolve in my mouth. It was life changing. That’s enough about the favorite meal here. I’d much rather talk about the lesser known stars among this chart.
In second place, we have Italian dunkers. Honestly, why wouldn’t they be there? Italian dunkers are just fantastic, but we hardly ever see them in the cafeteria. Probably like once a month, which is about as often as the chicken bowl. I’ve maybe had them once this year, which is downright kinda sad.
In third place with four whole votes was breakfast. Breakfast for lunch is kinda cool. It’s especially fun when they throw pancakes into the mix as well. I like putting maple syrup on tater tots. That’s just good fun. Obviously other people quite like this meal, but probably for their own reasons.
In fourth place was the burrito, and in fifth, the tacos. As for our write-in candidates, I got one for that biscuit thing (which I certainly enjoy as well) along with general tso’s chicken. I feel kinda dumb for not including those on the survey because they’re also favorites of mine as well. I just personally am not that crazy about the rice in the other chicken bowls. That’s the only thing I kinda hold against them.
As you can see, NC has some pretty interesting thoughts on what their favorite meals are. Unfortunately, it’s exactly what I expected, but at the same time, in a world where we’re all so divided, it’s fun to see everyone agree so unanimously with the chicken bowl. I’d also like to say thanks to all 42 people who helped by filling out this poll.
