My First Time Racing
When I got home from school I went into the house and did my chores. After that, I showered and loaded my dirt bike into the bed of my mom's truck. When we got to the fair, I had to go register my dirt bike and get a plate number. When I got registered, my mom, Matt, and my youngest brother went to get something to eat. After we got something to eat we had to go back to the track because they were having a meeting for all riders to attend.
When it was my class's turn to race, we all went and lined up where there is a beam that you have to be on. Your light will turn on and then you have to wait for the other person to get lined up, and once that light turns on for the other person's beam you get ready.
When I got up to the beam the first time I waited until the light turned on and then I got ready, but I was confused and I wasn’t really paying attention to the other person’s light, so I lost. When I got to the end of the track, I had to wait for the guy to put an X on my plate to know that I lost.
The second time, I was ready. I sat up by my gas tank, I shifted to first gear, and I held that throttle in. When the light turned green, I left out my clutch and went and just kept popping gears, but unfortunately, I lost again. That meant that I was disqualified. When I got down to the end of the track, I had to get another X to mean that I was out.
After I got the X on my plate, I went over to the field area and started to practice to figure out where I went wrong. I figured out that it wasn’t me, it was my dirt bike. My dirt bike needs an upgrading kit to upgrade it so I can race appropriately. When my mom came over, we loaded my bike up and went home.
